everyone should use low power mode , it is very good. I am able to extend my battery time by 50% when playing COD (60fps) without reduce performance . Low power mode underclock your CPU hence the power consumption and heat decrease . My screen is also rarely dim when playing game with it because there is less heat produced.

Overkill getting a new modem for improved battery life. If your wife’s phone is fine why wouldn’t yours be?
I’m not sure what people are doing wrong or I’m doing right(not much I promise you). People talking about switching all these settings off, background processes, etc.. I honestly just charge it and use it and it gives me such good battery life. It should be either a case of letting phone settled once it’s done everything over the first few days or return it. The excellent battery life shouldn’t require turning things off.. kind of defeats the point.
Good points, though I’m upgrading to Wi-Fi 6 anyway as a lot of my home devices are Wi-Fi 6 now. Just another variable that I can test since I’m making the change anyway.

Also I have a different cell provider than her and I rely on Wi-Fi calling access for work at home. It’s possible that there’s an interaction with carrier Wi-Fi calling implementations, who knows….

Today, with Wi-Fi calling disabled (carrier is AT&T) battery is starting off greatly improved. I’m at 91% reaming after 90 minutes of screen on time. If that could hold all the time, I’d be one happy camper!

Yeah don’t know what about doing that.

I have got everything on, been off charge since 8:51, it’s now 3:52, let’s call it’s 7 hours and I’m at 72% left!

And halfway through the day, my battery drain was the same as yesterday.

Just installed 15.0.1 and reenabled Wi-Fi calling.

Next test, does 15.0.1 improve battery drain. Sigh

Hi all, I just got the 13 pro today and my battery dropped from 96% to 93% to 90% all within 2 minutes. Was just web browsing the forums. Is this normal for a new phone like does it need to calibrate or something or is something up! Sorry I don’t mean to complain on launch day!
Take that phone back to apple

Curious if any users experiencing battery issues set up their phone as a new device or from a backup. I seem to have less issues setting up as a new device, for whatever reason.

3h45min SoT. 1h off screen. %40 left.
what am I doing wrong? Or how tf other people get 7-8 hours?

edit: also coconut battery says it's %103 of health. I really don't know what to do.

I might return my phone as well and see if I can pick up a new one if the battery drain isn't fixed. I will let today pass since I just installed the latest update. Since swapping devices fixed OP unit, I will do the same if it still drains.

I don't think I'm able to return and take a new one since they don't have anything in apple store. so I need and must to stick with it...

Yea, I keep checking every morning and it’s always unavailable. So sadly, I might stick with it too. Just hoping it comes before the 14 day ends.

coming From an iPhone 11 I upgraded to a 13 pro. I’m by no means a power user, and without hardly any screen time, both phones are lasting in excess of 2 days. I was expecting the pro to last at least 4 or does the battery not work that way?

before I go to this phone I both did iCloud and iTunes backup. Probably delete both of them and do another backup before I go full fresh.
Maybe another fresh backup would be good, but I don’t think there is a reason to delete the previous backups, at least for now (again, just to be extra safe).

Can someone chime in on the differences between an iCloud and iTunes backup, and if both should be done?

Big picture — I wonder how many bugs are caused by new phones being setup from a backup instead of new? Presumably they test these out as a new device, and every user out there will have their own unique set of data — so how could they possibly account for all of the variances that might contribute to a bug?

I set my phone up as new and have been having pretty awful battery life all things considered. About 3-4hr of screen on time and I hit 20% low battery warning.

I already commented to that poster that I did a 100% fresh install and had lots of battery issues initially.

Then I did a reset and restore from a backup of that fresh install and now I’m getting excellent battery life. I’ve seen others who set up from a backup also have issues. I don’t think fresh vs backup is the cause.

Post the battery page? Hopefully it’s some app draining and not like what I’m experiencing. I am noticing that location services is constantly pinging my location with the icon next to the time. But not sure what to disable
