Better news today. This morning after my phone dropped 40% overnight doing nothing I did a forced restart. (Press volume up, volume down, then hold power button until it restarts)

Battery is holding up much better so far today. It’s only down to 86% after 90 minutes of screen on time which extrapolates to close to 10hr of screen on time.

Will check again after tonight to see how it behaves while doing nothing through the night.

I just rebooted and went from 98% to 94%. That's alongside mediocre performance for my 13 Pro Max, and weird battery stats that don't make sense.
Mine dropped from 98% to like 93/92% after I shut down my phone for like 3 hours... No idea why my battery drained while it was off and turning on the phone should not consume that much battery. Are people with battery drain going to wait or ask for an exchange?

Yeah… it’s really annoying. I’m having drain overnight and faster than expected drain during use too.

I asked for a replacement from Apple but they’ve quoted November before a replacement would arrive!! That’s really disappointing to have to wait that long after going to the trouble of preordering the moment they went live. I just did a reset + restore to see if that helps at all.

My battery life is being good day after day.

And just to clarify - you were using the Pro not the Pro Max, correct?
On the smaller Pro model. There are a few YouTube videos now on battery life tests with the Max. It looks like a huge step up in terms of battery life, but too big/heavy for me. I keep my Clutch V2 power bank with me for days I might run low. It's so small I don't even remember it's in my pocket.

I noticed something strange. It was the same with my iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 14. If you add up the values in the battery statistics yourself, completely different values are displayed there. Here for example:

It shows 1.30h Screen On and 26min Screen Off

And if you add it up yourself with a calculator:
1h 54min SOn and 20min SOff

Can someone also do the math and can confirm?

My overnight battery drain seems to have slowed down to about 10% as opposed to 30% after doing the forced restart.

Better, but still not where it should be in my opinion. I’ve had iPhones/iOS versions in the past that would only drain 2 or 3%.

What’s annoying is now the battery graph shows that absolutely nothing is going on while the battery is draining.

I feel the frustration of new ip13 pro users who have baddery issues. Personally, my baddery life is insanely good. I have absolutely hammered the phone in tha last few days, and I still have juice for most of the day.

I’m going to disable WiFi calling for today and see if that helps.

I’m also going to upgrade my WiFi from an Orbi WiFi 5 mesh system, RBK53, to an Asus XT8 WiFi 6 mesh system tomorrow. Supposedly WiFi 6 helps with battery life. I’ll see if either of these changes helps with my battery life.

My wife’s new iPhone 13 Pro has had stellar battery life. One other thing that could be the difference is that my device is corporate managed, including having a management hub and security client installed. These could be the difference as well, and I just wonder if they are able to consume system resources without being accounted for in the battery report… just a wild guess… I can’t really remove them to test.

13 pro went from zero to hero over the past few days. This is day 3 of amazing battery life.
Wow. It’s like we have completely different phones… My best run up to now has been 3.5 hr of screen on time, mostly Safari with Norton ad blocker, and a pi-hole device on my network pre-filtering before it hit the 20% low battery warning.

One problem I keep having is with auto brightness. The screen is always too bright or too dim, mostly too bright, which contributes to battery drain.

I keep dragging the slider down hoping it will learn, but it doesn’t. Then I over compensate to about 20% brightness and then the next time I wake the phone, the screen comes on at about 5% and won’t brighten beyond that. Ugh.

Overkill getting a new modem for improved battery life. If your wife’s phone is fine why wouldn’t yours be?
I’m not sure what people are doing wrong or I’m doing right(not much I promise you). People talking about switching all these settings off, background processes, etc.. I honestly just charge it and use it and it gives me such good battery life. It should be either a case of letting phone settled once it’s done everything over the first few days or return it. The excellent battery life shouldn’t require turning things off.. kind of defeats the point.

Sadly I have to say: Count me in.
I don´t trust this battery. Going down too fast.
The whole last year with my 12 I charged only between 20 and 80% and my iPhone thanked me with 100% battery health after one year.
Now I leave home with 100% and charge in my office to get through the evening.
Got the 13pro last friday, so indexing and so on must be finished.
First time battery problems ever since 2012 - my first iPhone(5).

I would not hesitate to do a fresh setup and I know how to, but I´m too afraid to lose my streaks.
My whole effort this year would go to hell. This must not happen.

Which streak? Apple Watch activity?
