I started at 99% this morning, and I’ve been using the 12 Pro extensively all day, and I’m at 49% at 10 pm. This is quite good for my typical usage. It’s better than my 11 Pro Max, and that battery’s health is still at 100%.

I can say on day one, off charger at 7 am by 9PM I had 49% left. Basically streaming music, phone calls, browsing internet, video calls, company email on push, 5G on and working.

Day 2 same scenario as above it now almost 10 PM so 1 hour later I have 71% battery left. Huge improvement over day 1. Has to be the optimizing and syncing that comes with a new phone. I am extremely pleased.

How much screen on time?

Started using my phone around 9:00AM
Unplugged from the charger at 10:32AM
Plugged in with 2% at 12:00AM

Activity:
Heavy social media usage
1.5 hour phone call
Playing tons of music
Browsing forums on Safari
A couple 5G speed tests
Watching a few HD YouTube videos

Honestly this is comparable to my XS Max at 89% battery health.

I was also on Wifi all day besides the two speed tests so I’m certain that plays a major role in my results.

Battery gate.

I bet 50% or more Pro models will be returned for the Max. Battery life is a major issue.

I’m starting to wonder if the 11 Pro Max is a unicorn, never has Apple taken such a huge jump in battery life in an iPhone and I now feel like we may never see that again, lol. My hope was that the 12 Pro series would at least go up by 1 hour, not down.

Coming from the XS Max, my iPhone Pro’s battery is perfect. In my day to day use it’s about the same if not slightly better. I’m happy with the 12 Pro.
Not sure why everyone is so up in arms. Here’s a tip, put your phones down!
In all seriousness though, the 12 Pros battery is what I was expecting, lasts me the day with pretty heavy usage.

That may be your use case, but the 12 Pro isn't going to beat the 11 Pro Max in battery life. The 11 Pro Max is the undisputed battery king.

1 in a million lol

So far it’s a little hard to tell really, as people aren’t sharing any screenshots. I created a thread for that but nobody replied, and as usual after a launch, threads get buried pretty quickly.

Somebody saying “I used the phone all day and I’m at 35% at night” tells me basically nothing, because I don’t have any data.

I’ll share it just in case you’d like to participate, delete if this isn’t allowed:

The fact that the iPhone 11s get better battery life isn’t a surprise, this was widely reported for months before the 12s release. I’ll take the trade off for the new features.

I tend to agree.

Theres certainly no evidence of any battery draining background activity going on on my new phone, and even Under settings>battery the screen off time for the last 24 hours is just 4 mins.
In my experience with the 11 Pro, it does take a few days.
Set mine up as a new phone 24h ago, it's still downloading Health and Photos data (25% battery usage by Health, 20% by Photos, usage today is 1h10m screen on, 1h6m screen off). It definitely takes a while for all the initial data downloading / indexing to happen.

It’s not a battery gate. What I’m seeing are people without patience or a willingness to troubleshoot. My battery settled nicely yesterday and I got effectively about 1 hour less use than with my 11 pro max but I wasn’t expecting them to match up because they’re difference size!! My brief time with the 11 Pro felt fairly comparable within a margin of error.

you want max level battery? Wait for the max. Seems fairly straightforward. Otherwise give the battery a few days to settle; I have 250GB of files on iCloud,50,000 photos, thousands of texts. These things take time to settle

Well the issue is per those tests you're only getting 6 hours and less than prior model phone

Which tests? The ones on youtube? Those don't reflect day to day usage as they stress test it under circumstances in a way the average person wouldn't use their phone.

When airlines test airplanes they don't fly them as normal commercial pilots would. They put them through rigorous tests to see if there are any issues. That is the point of any test.

Ok? Like I said these tests don't reflect a normal person's usage. I easily get 7-8 hours of SOT with medium to heavy usage. If you want 1-2 hours more, go for the max.

But they demonstrate what your battery is capable of 🤦🏻‍♂️

With my 11 Pro I'm usually at ~30% by the end of the day. with the 12 Pro I'm at ~24%. Still good enough for me, sucks to take a bit of a battery hit though. I knew this going in when I purchased it based on the keynote and the advertised battery capability.

... on Wifi, LTE or 5G?

Coming from iPhone X, I notice huge improvements in my daily usage and it has actually got much better since the first day of use now.
