Did you guys restore from a backup or setup as a new phone? AT&T rep told my wife to setup as a new phone when she purchased hers and not restore from backup to avoid potential battery issues.

The battery draining 1% every couple of minutes definitely calls for setting it up as a new phone.

Yeah I just decided to try erasing all settings and whatnot from the phone and start from scratch, so I set it up as a new phone and manually downloaded everything and set all the settings, so no backup file was used. It'll take a day or so to figure out if that does the trick but I have hopes. Although, deep down I don't think it'll accomplish anything.

Takes about a week to get that battery worn in

That's what they said about my iPhone 4S and MacBook Air 11" and most every product people feel an inexplicable need to defend. And you know what happens a week later? the battery life is just as bad.

Yesterday my battery drained pretty quick but it was during intensive use and restoration. Today I'm at 38% and I barely touched it. I have little faith in the battery lasting any longer next week, I'll probably just continue my habit of charging more than I should.

Mine seems pretty decent imo.

I think the battery life is amazing. Lte phones drain battery like crazy. My thunderbolt used to only get about 8-10 hrs max if I used it regularly. Plus at work my signal goes in and out because I work in a hospital. This new chip apple uses is much more efficient. It's impressive the amount of life they can get out of a 1400mah battery. This phone can match the droid razr with a much larger battery.

I went to bed with my phone next to me at 60% and woke with it at 56%. It my 4S, it would have been close to dead in the morning.

Not good so far. Significantly worse than my 3GS which I've been using for three years!

Early days.

Sorry i know this isn't exactly super valid info, but i didnt take a screenshot yesterday. Yesterday, after i got home and charged it fully to 100%, i got 3 hours 28 minutes usage and 9 hours standby. 51% left. 2 hours of that was at my friends house with terrible reception.

Today, this is what i have so far. I have been using it normally. I suspect a lot of people with bad battery have just been going nuts with exploring stuff.

screenshots from today: Decent?

Continue using LTE, don't go on Wi-Fi. Then post the battery results. Using Wi-Fi really conserves my battery, too much so. With cellular data I can only get like 4 hours of usage, maybe.

For some reason it drains way faster over cellular than Wi-Fi.

All phones do. Wifi is a battery saver.

My battery has been terrible today (day 2). I thought it was ok for day 1 considering all the setting up and downloading I was doing.

But i am showing:

3'43'' for usage
and 6'17'' for standby
@61%

noticed 10% drop in the first hour alone with only a little web browsing and watching those 5 apple ads for the iphone 5 via youtube.

I don't see how these posts are accurate. When I left the house this morning, I was at 80%. That was at 7:30am. I am on LTE only, as I wanted to test speeds in downtown Chicago. I've used it quite a bit, and I am now at 38% and it is 2:15pm.

Using WIFI would improve battery life, I know, but as stated, I wanted to put LTE to the test.

I am very pleased with these results.

Agreed. I drive for my job and started at 10am today. With constant gps, couple calls to the job, some pulse reading on downtime- by 2-3 was at 25%. Now you can say 5 hours and almost drained not great. But I literally mean constant gps so battery took a hit. On normal usage I could most likely last all day.

Speaking of I charged it to 50% when it hit the 25%. Stopped charging and driving around 5. Been on it constantly(wifi) since the. And still at 46% with brightness about half way.

Does anybody else think this is horrible? Or am I crazy.

This is no Wi-Fi, only cellular. It drained 40% in an hour and 45 mins.
