For some reason it drains way faster over cellular than Wi-Fi.

you don't say?

----------

i believe this is an iOS 6 issue; all of my iPhones (4, 4S) are also draining fast like my iP5 ever since they were upgraded to iOS 6

What really drains the battery if u have roaming voice, roaming data also roaming international on.

It's actually pretty good. Wife is at 20 percent with 6 hours screen time and 1 day stand by time using whatever the phone arrived with charge wise. Will report back when she goes through a full cycle, think it was delivered with a close to full charge.

I get 9 hours screen time and the same 1 day total but with a 4200mAH battery on my sgs3. So it's better out of the box than mine was.

I'm very impressed with it.

So how is everyone's battery life doing compared to the 4s?

I'm about to leave the house with a full charge on my ip5 and hopefully it's a little better than the 4s.

66% which 2 1/2 hours usage and 5 1/2 hours standby

I was getting some pretty nasty battery usage in my opinion, I had 2 1/2 hours of usage with about six hours of standby and I was already down to 60%. That 2 1/2 hours of usage doesn't seem accurate to me, I don't think I used it for more than one hour realistically so I don't know how it came up with 2 1/2 hours. I'm wondering if something was going on in the background on my phone causing the battery drain. I even tried restarting it but it didn't seem to help at all.

So what I ended up doing is I erased all data and settings on the phone essentially putting it back to factory settings In hopes of it correcting the issue but I was already pretty low on battery power so I don't think I can properly judge whether or not it's helping until I fully charge it overnight and check it tomorrow.

But if this does not help, this phone to me has significantly worse battery power than my iPhone 4, which is a shame. After all the craziness goes away, I might actually take it to Apple and try getting a replacement.

Yes, I know it was plugged in for about 1 minute to check and see if the lightning connector would work with my ford sync for another thread. Other than that i was on LTE for about 5 hours at work.

Here is where I ended up before bed. I even used navigation for about 20 minutes. My 4s could never do this!!!! This alone was worth the 650$. Lol ok maybe not.

I'm happy with the battery so far. LTE, wifi, Bluetooth always on. Brightness about halfway. I employ 0 battery saving techniques.

That's amazing.

Does anybody else think this is horrible? Or am I crazy.

This is no Wi-Fi, only cellular. It drained 40% in an hour and 45 mins.

It's the bad reception that's killing your battery more than anything. Same here with only twitter, safari.

I can confirm I had terrible battery life I was at 60% in 3 hours after a full charge, I restored from a back from my iPhone 4 , I have now restored it and set up as a new phone and now seems to be great so far I also charged at under 10% and let it fully charge

I got about 6 hours average on my 4S, with the 5 I am getting 7.5 to 8 hours.
I am still trying to figure out how Engadget got over 11 hours on their test?

This seems really good for only losing 1% so far..

I've been streaming music through spotify and occasionally looking at twitter/facebook.

Don't know what's up with other people's 5's, but my 5 is definitely better than my 4S for sure. I don't have data other than it was around 40% when we got home at 7 or so from a full charge this morning. My 4S battery would have been 15% by that same point, my 4S always seemed likes battery hog, so the 5 feels much better to me. I dunno, I could be wrong.

My phone just hit 0%. It sat at 1% for about 30 minutes, and my full day's usage was about 5 hours 30 minutes of Usage, 10 hours 30 minutes of Standby.

After upgrading my 4S to iOS 6, i noticed the battery drained faster.

My iPhone 5, the battery seems to do pretty well! 12 hours, LTE only, screen on full brightness, Bluetooth on, 38% left with medium heavy usage.

I do indeed hope that my 5 mirrors yours. When using my 4S phone for things like browsing, playing music, etc, I lose 10% every 10 minutes. Though I would consider myself a heavy user, I have to charge 3 times a day normally...

This is with 10 mins of need for speed, facebook, general web browsing on Wifi, and 10 mins on LTE. Decent I guess... iOS 6 is killing battery life.

Same here.. last 2 nights it sat at 1% for 20-30 minutes of use. All our phones are still calibrating. Nobody should panic.

I'm not saying the i5 battery is great.. just saying it's still too early to tell. :)
