I guess I haven't been hammering my phone enough. A $10,000 fine and Termination of employment from my job kind of puts a damper on using unauthorized electronics at work.

No problems here. At 17% right now and battery stats since last charge are:

Usage: 7 hours, 35 minutes
Standby: 22 hours, 32 minutes

First full day yesterday on my 6. Took off the charger at 8:30am. Heavy usage w/safari, mail, and messaging. Played with most of the features of the new phone and only streamed about 45 minutes worth of videos.

I left auto bright at default setting. I leave WiFi and Bluetooth on at all times. The goal was to drain the battery so I could do a full recharge last night.

At midnight I was still at 20%. I had to turn the flashlight on and stream YouTube videos with screen brightness turned up full tilt in order to get the phone to shut off at 1am.

No need looking at usage numbers at this point since it was the 1st day of use without a full discharge cycle. Today I'll track the numbers more accurately.

Overall, very impressed with the battery life so far. Beats my 4S, 5, and 5S.

Heavy usage yesterday. 7:00am to 12:30am (really long day), 100% off charger to 19% back on charger.

Verizon, 64gb.

LOL Well in all honesty, I think it does. Seriously I have nearly everything turned off I can. It happens. My 5 gets way better battery life while running far more things, been jailbroke, not a clean install in a 'long' time from prior phones. And it's running iOS 8 as well so I can't blame that either.

Just going to inform Apple who will see for themselves and get another. I'm not happy about this trust me.

Please let us know how you make out. I'm also thinking of making an appointment with the Genius Bar, and potentially trying to swap my device out for another. My battery is currently at 18% and that's after 4 hours and 29 minutes of moderate usage (safari, paper, instagram, spotify, and flipboard). Really bummed.

I may have said this earlier, but that is truly phenomenal battery life, at least in comparison to the numbers I'm getting.

Which carriers are you all on?

i guess I don't know what my expectations should be. I do upgrade iPhones frequently and the battery updates are just modest. Going from a 5s to a 6 I wonder if mine is okay even though I feel it drains a bit fast. I can't seem to upload a screen shot but here are my current stats for my iPhone 6.

Battery: 24%
Usage: 7 hours, 30 minutes
Standby: 1 day, 12 hours
Safari: 32%
Used safari quite a bit. Then just the music, video, and facebook app here and there.

Is this good?

That's excellent.

I haven't read the entire thread, but if your phone is draining the battery unreasonably quickly try doing a hard reboot by holding down both the sleep and home buttons until the phone powers down and then turning it back on. Occasionally you'll get some rogue process in the background that's using more power than it should be and the only way to clear the contents of memory rather than resuming a saved state on reboot is to do a hard reboot.

My 4S when I first got it was killing the battery (~10% per hour while on standby) until I did this, and I noticed the same thing but not quite as badly with my first iPhone 6 before my exchange. After hard reboots both had the expected battery usage.

I'm getting great battery life. Comparable to iPhone 5 brand new if I remember. Obviously my iPhone 5 is two years old so it sucks currently. 3-5 hours of usage. Was what I was getting the past few months waiting on the release of iPhone 6.

I've gone back to all day usage with iPhone 6. Yesterday 10 hours. Went to bed at 17%.

Verizon LTE. 2 bars at my home. Basically 4-5 anywhere else in town. Minor 3G usage.

I've been pleasantly surprised so far. First day with all that playing around I still had a decent amount left. Been hammering it this weekend as well with plenty left over at end of day. Safari taking the most usage which is what I expected.

AT&T and iPhone 6.

Hmm someone on the Apple support community mentioned trying to install a carrier update under settings. Apparently this fixed any issues they were having. But when I go into Settings -> General -> About, I receive no prompt for updating my own carrier settings:

:(

What network are you on?

I'm in the UK, on Three, carrier settings are 17.0.
I'm going to tweet them to see if that's the latest version or not.

Have faith, I expected the poor battery life I'm experiencing. Therefore I'm not disappointed. Nothing will change until next model. More new improvements will be included next year. I have confidence.

The battery on my 64 gb iPhone 6 is great. Much better than the 5s. I'm very happy with the battery thus far

I have to wonder what you aren't telling us or noticing about your usage. I have a two year old iPhone 5 that can last me for the entire day or more without charging, after playing games, browsing, taking video, etc.
I am on 3 Mobile...
I noticed that when I lower the screen's brightness the battery seems to last longer.

That's the thing, I just switched from an iPhone 5 and I don't feel any improvement yet. I know it might need a few charging cicles before I jump to conclusions.
