My battery was back to normal after the first day. With the S3 I would finish my day at 73%. With the S4 I’m finishing my day at 77% both at full brightness, both cellular models.

Any 3rd Party Software installed?

S4 44m seems very much like as my old S2 42mm.

Old one would always be at about 45% after a typical day (55% for the first year or so before a little battery degradation), general useage and 60-90 workout minutes.

My S4 44mm ends the day at about 55% with same useage.

The only 3rd party apps/complications I ever use are Carrot weather and Overcast.

I think 1.5 days in my case would be realistic.

It would also be interesting to know the battery life people on Series 3 are getting now on WatchOS 5, compared to WatchOS 4.

I’m on a series 3 Apple Watch cellular version running watchOS 5.

Just checked my usage, for a relatively light day my usage was 2 hours 37 min and standby was 15 hours 35 minutes, with 80% battery remaining.

On average, I can usually get 2.5 days of heavy useage (lots of notifications and a couple hours of fitness tracking), and still have about 20% battery left over. This is consistent in watch is 5 with walk-in talkie enabled.

Anyone else finding it takes much longer to charge their Series 4 than previous generations? I had a Series 2 and would charge it in the morning so i could use AutoSleep for sleepy tracking. Even if it was almost empty, an hour charge or so would bring it to full or nearly fully charged.

My Series 4 seems to charge significantly slower. It's been on the charger for an hour and only went from 11% to 50%

I am comparing a Series 2 GPS 42mm to now a Series 4 GPS 44 mm. I wonder how much larger the battery capacity is now than the series 2.

Either my routine is somehow out of wack and I'm not charging it as long or os 5 broke the charging speed on my series 3. I charge while eating breakfast and showering and it only got up to 40% this morning. Usually somewhere between 75 and 100 depending on how low it was. I'll try to pay closer attention to how long its actually charging...

Yes I have a few 3rd party apps installed on my watch. Including Outlook for work. Even today I’m seeing normal battery drain that I’ve come to expect from previous AW model.

First time Apple Watch owner. Had it since Saturday. Im assuming this isn't normal but I will ask anyway.
Used the sleep tracking app, pillow. Last two nights slept about 7-8 hours and the battery drains 30-40% in that time.
Is this normal.

I have the S4 Black Aluminum 44mm with Cellular.

I don’t know about that app, but I use SleepMatic and it only drains about 5% over night.

I have not heard of that app. I was considering autosleep. My girlfriend new AW4 drained about the same.
I have to believe that is abnormal. It could also be other things going on in the phone.

AutoSleep is also really good! Most people use that. I actually have both, and see anywhere from 10-15% drop in battery. Nothing like what your seeing.

Most likely bad programming with the app you’re using if it drains that much.

I currently had mine charged at 95% at 10pm last nite and now its 4pm EST and its at 51% (18 hours later almost) . It tracked my sleep - got emails and messages etc. Will see how long it lasts and will not charge it till its down to 10% maybe.

Not sure as to what to expect but, I've had 4hrs 24mins usage with 22hrs & 28mins standby with 41% left.

This includes a 50min gps activity and a shorter one of 25mins.

Good/Bad?!?

took my watch off charge at 14:30 and at 21:15 it's on 62% left..not sure how good that is to be honest

Very good. Do let us know what size you have and what settings you have tweaked

7 hours and 62%? No that isn’t great. I am into hour 11 with 71% left.
Not like I've had any fitness or workouts either.

Not downloaded anything crazy either...all the settings are the same as on my series 3 was.

Yeah like I have said, I don’t like watchOS 5’s battery effects. I will say I don’t have a series 4 yet, but this is on my series 2. The 4 should be doing better than my 2.

Depends how old the battery on your Series 2 is really. It may be dying if you got the S2 at launch.
