Anyone find that because the battery life is meant to be better, you're slightly obsessed about it?

My 6+ has great battery life, I genuinely don't have to worry about battery management and it'll get me through the day just fine.

But I check my battery usage throughout the day, and see if it's gotten any better or worse

FWIW: Currently at 51% with 4 Hours, 36 Minutes Usage, and 10 Hours 20 Minutes Standby (no WiFi at all, I'm on 4G to soak up some of my data allowance before it goes back up to 20GB next week).

As promised my 50percent mark
Taig jailbreak 8.1.1

That's really good. 9 hours with no music/audio and with that much safari usage is quite respectable. Has 8.1.1 improved things a lot for you compared to 8.1?

That's me during tests for sure. If you look a my last screenshot I used 3% of my battery in settings. That means I was checking my battery usage so much that I wasted 3% of my battery power just keeping tabs on it. Haha!

I was doing it every 10% or so to make sure the battery drain was linear. Each 10% of my battery drained at almost the same rate. So for science!

Usually though on a normal day I don't bother checking my battery at all until it hits 50%. It's good enough now that it easily lasts me a full day. I typically charge it every night around 40-60%. When you get to the point where the iPhone 6/Plus can last you a day and a half, you can stop worrying about it.

Hi there,

this is my 51% screenshot. iP6, 8.1.1, no jailbreak, disabled animations, wifi only, average usage.

Yeah to me the phone seems to run cooler during games and the battery seems to be better and the actual phone seems smoother with no more wifi issues for me

not as you reach about 11 hours on a iphone 6 (I have your same configuration, not use games, no music online is really impossible, you are the only person in the world with these values, using airplane mode or a big fake ( anyone could recommend me an app for music that has the options to delete music directly create lists

If that is aimed at me then no it's not fake I'm currently on 14 percent having also made a phone call to my girlfriend for an hour

That is amazing battery without a jailbreak, wow! I guess disabling animations is even better than my jailbreak tweaks but I like having the animations. Looks like 8.1.1 is solid.

I guess eventually I'll have to restore to 8.1.1 and setup everything all over again. I'll wait until they have a Mac version of the Taig jailbreak. Strangely enough I've never noticed any wifi issues from 8.0 to 8.1. I have the latest Apple time capsule though, wonder if that makes any difference.

Settings??? Jailbreak tweaks?

I didn't do anything special with settings. I used Wifi and LTE at my will.

Both images have significantly better battery life than usual. Typically, I have 13 hours of standby time and 7 hours of usage. The reason the battery life appears so good with those images is probably because I wasn't using the screen very often.

Battery life is highly dependent on your usage patterns.
I find that the iPhone 6 consistently gets exactly 7 hours of screen on time before the phone kills itself. Standby time doesn't affect it very much. For example, if you have your screen on for 3.5 hours and have it sitting idle for 12 hours, your battery will probably be around 45%. Sometimes I can get 24 hours of standby if I don't use the phone too often.

For reference, what happens when you don't use the phone very much (no background audio, all 2 hours of usage are with the screen on):

Iphone 6 or plus ??

Mine was an iPhone 6.
I just closed old unused apps as these seem to cause a drain bug and also using efficient apps like tubby stated (Alien Blue, Tapatalk).

At the end I got around 13h at 5%. Played a little bit too much :D

I find it strange that most of you don't have mail taking up more of your battery %. I find mine usually averages around 10% background activity. I have it checking every 1 hour for 2 Gmail and push for an exchange account. Recently switched to acompli which averages about the same as well

Also i don't listen to music much and I average around 8 hrs per charge

Thought I'd share this. No particular way of using the phone. Just use it whenever I need to, I'm not a heavy gamer.

iPhone 6 plus.

First full day with my 6 Plus, it'll get better right? Restored from IP6 backup

Yeah, it will get better after about 5 to 10 recharges.

Really? These phones get better after some charges?

In any case, I've had an iphone 6 about a week now. I get about 8 hours usage, 16 hours standby, compared to about 5 or 6 hours usage on my iphone 4. I find that acceptable. (Until I see some of these huge numbers being posted, that is…)

Here's my very first day with my fully charged brand new iPhone 6. This is all mostly on screen usage (on wifi the whole time 4 dots signal 15-40% brightness) and I was using it like I normally do as I did with my 5. I did have to play with the slow mo feature a little and I think that may have sucked a little more battery. So far I'm not impressed! It's about the same as my 5! I'll give it a few more cycles and report back! Love the phone though. This about normal for on screen time? Yikes I wonder what will happen when I go outside and brightness goes to the max!!

Yeah that's pretty normal mine was about 7 hours give or take before I jailbroke mine

It seems to have but again it depends what I'm doing a lot of people listen to music so they get upwards of 9 hours usage I game and Safari mostly so I would see myself as quite a heavy user and I maybe get between 8 and 8 and a half hours at the minute
