Updating to iOS 5.I still can't understand how some people get 7-8-9 hours usage time and long standby time (awesome battery life) and others get 3 hours usage and less than 10 hours standby (bad battery life). They use the same phone and most of the times even the same carrier.
I used to have a great battery life (7-8 hours usage and 23-24 hours standby) but now I can't get pass (3 hours and half usage and 6-8 hours standby). I didn't install any app or anything, that just happened. I really don't know how this started.
I've tried everything to get my battery life back (change in settings, restoring as new, not installing any app, etc), but still get a poor battery.
I've an iPhone 4.

Anyone with phantom idle usage and that hasn't done so already. Do a reset all settings and setup as new.
Worked for me anyway.
Were you then able to do a restore in itunes to get contacts and messages back or would this defeat the object of resetting all settings?
Reset all settings doesn't get rid of anything or any data. It just sets everything back to default, like wallpaper, ringtones, notifications and so on.
i don't trust reset setting will help your battery
i don't trust charge cycle will help your battery
i don't trust restore firmware will help your battery

So when Apple release iOS 5.1, you won't upgrade your iPhone to it, right? Since it won't help? Rrrrriiiiiight...

I get like 9 hours of usage time almost every day with my iPhone 4s.. however I'm pretty sure I don't use it more than 5-6 hours. How can this be explained?

That's not any result. There's still 61% battery left. It means nothing.
Here what WERE my sucky stats. Have returned the phone and switched to Windows Phone
This doesn't prove anything you fool. The battery indicator or use is not linear. Enjoy your windows phone lulz
