I went from 100% to 0 in just under 4 hours of usage. I returned that 16 gig and exchanged it for a 32. This was on Sunday. I let it run to 0 Sunday night. Full charges sunday and Monday nights. Today I am at 72% with 2 hours and 57 mins of usage. Much better than before.

Under location settings, system services, I turned on the status bar icon. Later I noticed "Compass Calibration" was on for an extended period of time even though I wasn't using the compass.

If you used 3G the entire time, it seems like it's trending towards a little short of 6 hrs. Apple says on it's website "Internet use: Up to 6 hours on 3G," so assuming you are using 3G it sounds ok.

Yes..I'm always on 3G. Well except when I'm at home. But the first 8 hours is 3g then wifi at the house.

Took this last night.... It says about 7 hours of usage but it was mostly music and just light 3g browsing and around 20 texts? Few phone calls. just basic light use. not really happy at this.

I charged it to 100 percent and then I took it off the charger and left it on to see how the standby would be. I have most location services off, ping off, bluetooth off, wifi off, wifi sync off, brightness low, most icloud stuff off, mail is on fetch, time zone off, location iads off, and diagnostics and usage off. Basically I turned off most things that people advised turning off. Woke up at around 7am and the battery was at 72% -_-;; So as of now I deleted my mail and readded them I'll see how it does later on.

Edit: I have the 32gb black iPhone 4s on sprint

Restore from backup or setup as new?

Here are my stats for today:
Usage: 6 hours 10 minutes.
Standby: 11 hours 12 minutes.

Used for: Sending and receiving a few emails on 3G (no attachments) & sending and receiving about 5 imessages.
Had wifi on all day.
On wifi I browsed the web for about 20 minutes,
checked twitter a few times adding up to about 15minutes.
checked facebook for about 5minutes.
played cut the rope for 25 minutes.
played sudoku for 25 minutes.
played gravity guy and another spot the difference game and angry birds for a few minutes each.
downloaded 2 apps (about 100mbs) on wifi and installed.
sent and received about 100texts (each).
listened to 15minutes of internet radio.
used a few other apps that use the internet and had a few apps push notifications to me throughout the day.
Now got 5% left.
Unlocked white 64gb. (on O2 in the UK).

I'm also have a battery issue. I've basically followed what everyone was doing by turning off some features. Mine went from 56% to 40% in like 3 hours for minimal use. I've checked facebook for 1 minute, twitter for 1 minute, and listened to music for 20 minutes and that's about it. I'm thinking about having my phone replaced but I may go to a Genius Bar first.

Also, I bought my 4s through att.com and want to know if I can get it replaced at a apple store?

So did you restore from a previous backup or restore then start new? No way i want to lose all my info and apps.

I was having battery issues. Last night it was at 69% when I went to bed with Nightstand running, and I woke up at 5:30AM at 39% (!). Turned off a few more things this morning and it was still going through battery like drunken sailors on shore leave. Saw a comment about resetting the phone so I did the double-bucky reset about noon after fully charging it.

A couple phone calls, checking email, a few texts, a few Siri demos and I'm at 94% 4+ hours later. It took at least an hour and half to even come off of 100%.

I'll see what happens tonight.

Try resetting your phone

Guys, how can i restore my iphone but keep my contacts? I can reinstall all apps etc, but i have to keep my contacts...

7 hours of usage

I only get 5 hours if that..buy mine is mostly internet and not music so i bet that makes a difference

Battery much better drained to restore to reset was 1% per 5 min at standby now 1% per 3 hour standby

Update to my post earlier.

I let my battery drain from 5% to 0 so that I can see what happens, at 1% I was constantly texting & using wifi facebook and it took 9minutes to drop from 1% to 0. That was a lot longer than it would take earlier. Which was weird.

9x100/60 = 15 hours of constantly texting & checking fb on wifi (also received a few push emails). That's realllyy good if it can get to something like that.

I said earlier I didn't have a battery problem, but I think I do. With using the phone in any way, I lose about 1% every two minutes. Standby time is great, but usage is horrible.

Using the stopwatch laps starting as soon as it changed to 68% with pandora streaming, headphone volume at half, screen on and at half brightness I recorded

68%-67% 3:41.6
67%-66% 3:41.6

Seem ok?

I don't think there is a battery issue. I think there is a software issue determining how much charge is still available.

on wifi or 3G? rough calculations put that at about 8 hours non stop. Which seems pretty good to me...

Ok.

For me I think it was the removing of the email addresses that has sorted it. I deleted my exchange, iCloud and imap addresses. Re-added them, and my iMap is currently set as default although I may change that. I also enabled cloud backup as it was previously disabled.

I did turn off the time zone gps thing, but after re-adding my emails I have switched it back on and after an hour no real change to battery. So I think I'm done now!

Suggest if your phone is hot, disable timezone gps, delete email accounts, re-add email accounts, consider enabling iCloud backup if not and consider turning gps time zone back on. Mines been excellent this afternoon.

From 3pm I had full charge. Didn't loose any for about an hour. Took phone to gym and listened to music whilst using Nike+. Few tweets later. Email check and send after gym. Got home. 86%. Bit of WWF then its was 84%. Now charging it so its 100% for me tomorrow but I'm pretty confident it should be fine now.

tres happy.
thanks for the email tips guys!
xx
