0k so I had an order for pickup but wasn't notified so I just passed by my local Apple Store and picked them up! They had tons of them so definitely not a supply issue with these! They sound very good and have much more isolation than the AirPods which helps with the bass. So far very happy with them:D

I have been using these for a few hours now and I'm over the moon with them! Comparable with my RHA 750's in sound, so for the extra convenience of wireless/W1 the price is spot on.

Well that is encouraging since I returned the RHA 750 in favor of the Bose Soundsport Wireless because those are BT and sounded excellent as well. Now we will see if I like the Beats X better than those. I doubt the Beats X will sound better, the Bose are excellent.

Time will tell, I am still digging out from yesterday's storm. I have a double driveway, I dug out the first side yesterday so I still have to do the other side. At least I was able to get out to Apple this morning. :)

It's days like this that make me wish I had a local Apple Store to wander down to, but I don't. Ordered online and should be here by the 15th.

I was hoping to replace my X3's with these, mainly for the convince of the W1 chip. But I don't think that is happening, for the following reasons:

-Stated to not be sweat/water resistant. I run, a lot. When I run, I sweat like a normal person, and sometimes it rains. I find it a bit misleading that the Beats website actively advertises these with people working out.

-The size of the cord is a bit ridiculous. The magnetic clasp is nice, but I am a larger guy, and they can hang down past my chest. I imagine running with these will result in a lot of movement noise.

-The Jaybirds X3s and the BeatsX sound comparable, I would be hard pressed to pick one, but its not that simple. The Jaybird X3s have an amazing little app that allows you to adjust the EQ, or pick from custom made EQ. It really makes for some awesome sounding headphones, and you can customize for what you are doing, rapidly.

I really want a pair of headphones that have the X1 chip. The X3s have the newer bluetooth, but the ability to connect multiple devices to the X3 is actually annoying to me. I always have Bluetooth on with my iPad,iPhone, MacBook, etc; as it enables multiple features. Unfortunately, that means if I am listening to bluetooth on my watch or iPhone, and actively moving in and out of distance of the other products, I constantly get a voice notification (headphone connected) every few minutes.

I thought about jumping to the Solo3, and keeping the X3 for working out, but the solo3 reviews are great. I could do the same with the BeatX, but $150 seams like a lot to pay for the same form factor in the X3, if I plan on keeping the X3s anyway.

Yeah, these are good thoughts. The cord bothers me enough to return the Beats X. The problem is not the neckband. IT's the part from the neckband to the buds. They stick out like crazy. And since these use a different mechanism than the Powerbeats3 to secure themselves to your ear, the cable ends up looking like it sticks out from your ears, too. I'm not that picky when it comes to earphone aesthetics, but these are just ridiculous (in my opinion).

I believe the cables have to be long so the buds don't pop out of your ears when you turn your head. The neck band acts as an anchor. Short cables would pull the buds out. This is the problem I had with Jaybird X2s when I would get sweaty, and the flat cable would stick to my neck. I had to switch to the alternate fit on those (cables up over the ears with the cable secured tight across the back of my head). This is why I am so, so, so happy with the AirPods.

If you're still referring to the PW3s, I think build quality is superb. I also got some Comply foam tips and they're pretty comfortable now. I don't listen to music when I workout or do sports though so I don't have any issues with sweat etc.

Regarding the cords, those were my exact thoughts as well. Neck piece isn't the "issue" it's the length of the cords to your ear. I haven't looked in the mirror yet lol so I'll report back I was in the mall this morning , bought the beats x and walked around with them for an hour

Maybe this is the case, I had the jaybirds a year or two ago and they did not stay in my ear well at all. The beats x do not come out no matter how hard I shake my head

I am personally afraid of the long cable since I saw the first promo photo. Can someone who already has a pair try wearing them with cable up over the ears? I know it would be probably hard with flat cable, but who knows.
This is the only reason why I didn't buy them today and still consider other options.

Hey does anybody have a good way to get them back into the case. I keep fumbling around trying to get them in uniformly.

How is the mic quality. I use headphones a lot to take conference calls and sometime calls in public locations (while commuting). Did you test the mic quality and if it has any background noice reduction? AirPods does a great job with mic but they don't fit in my ears.

had a call with my wife this morning when i was outside and she heard a lot of background noise but it was a tiny bit windy. the call quality on my end (listening to her) didn't seem as good as when I used the AirPods but i don't know if she was using bluetooth on her end or not.

Regarding the cord length, it doesn't really seem that bad aesthetically, definitely a little long but the cords don't stick out much at lease for me.

And is anyone having an issue redeeming the 3 month apple music promo code? When i try and register my beats x the promo code box is greyed out. chatting with support right now about it

The side with the controls is ok on mine as well, its the one on the other side that sticks out from my face too much. Its probably just how it has been packaged and with a bit of pressure will hopefully fit a bit more snug against my face. It kept hooking over my coat today and getting stuck, which was a tad annoying.

Thanks for taking a photo, but the fact that you're wearing a dark colored shirt sort of hides the issue. Also, you probably don't want to do this on a forum, but it'd be even more helpful to people to see a photo of yourself straight-on showing both sides simultaneously. I just don't like the look at all. And when I had a jacket on, the cable would rub up against the collars of my jacket creating really annoying and audible noise interference.

Only a short play so far but hot damn, these seem to be worth your waiting for them. From a sound quality perspective, nice bass and pretty good soundstage as well.

Just using the stock ear tips the seal is very good with the outside background noise isolated more than acceptable for me considering the Airpods give little if any. And I do not see these falling out of my ears and I was shoveling snow while listening. Another plus versus the Airpods, not feeling I need any type of Earskinz. And a real biggie for me is they go much louder than the Airpods for playback volume, I had given some folks some music on YT to try with the Airpods. It was recorded at low volume but I do not have to struggle any longer getting a good listen to that music with the Beats X.

Cannot wait to finish up outside and give these a good listen indoors.

Well i guess it's either that or give you guys a shirtless photo lol. from this angle they look pretty damn long imo and i have to admit that looking in the mirror I was like wtf this looks ridiculous. The PB3s look much better imo even with the ear hooks. Luckily i could give a crap if it looks dumb as I love the magnetic lock that keeps them around my neck, way better than having to hook and unhook the PB3s and take the AirPods out of my ear and back in the case every time i'm not using them. These things i can def see wearing all day due to the magnetic locking.

For those who are concerned about the size i would say watch the CNET video as you can get a better look at the length of the cords, they are definitely quite long. Keep in mind too that I have an 18.5inch neck so you skinny mofos might have a little extra cord then what you see in the pic at the below link.

Cancelled my store pick up order after I walked into my local Apple Store and picked up a pair. So far I'm VERY impressed. Probably going to keep these and sell my AirPods. I would actually consider keeping my AirPods...but I have one VERY big problem with them...anytime I use them around my MacBook Pro 15 with TouchBar, they lose connection TERRIBLY. Continual crackling and freezing. I have been using the Beats X for the past two hours and have had NO issue and can easily switch between my iPhone and my MBP. Sound is better too. These are TONS better than the PowerBeats...for me. The PowerBeats cable would always pull on my neck. Couldn't stand it. Don't have that issue with these at all.

Good luck everyone!

If you are waiting on a store pickup order notification you may just want to go to the store and try to pickup. My store said several people who ordered beats had issues with pickup orders not going through.

Any chance you can comment on the mic quality? back ground noice etc. Thank You!

I'm really tempted to order the gray (I don't mind waiting and the black is a bit harsh for me. Gray seems far more understated).

My issue (don't laugh) is that I don't want to give up the bass response I get with my JVC Xtreme Xplosives. Yes, they're wired. Yes, they have the old 3.5mm jack. But the bass is like nothing else. Sub woofer quality.

I'm not sure if anyone here has any experience, but is it likely I'd be taking a hit by making the switch?

FYI for anyone having trouble entering the Apple Music promo code when registering their Beats X on the beatsbydre.com/register site, i talked to support they are aware of the issue that the box is greyed out. I just selected the Powerbeats 3 Wireless as the product, put the Beats X serial number and apple music promo code that came in the box and it worked fine. So just do that as you will not be able to redeem by using the Beats X product selection (at least until they fix it).

Yes definitely. I just got my text notification that my BeatsX are ready for pickup! I walked in and bought them this morning in that same Apple Store. Kinda silly but I guess their notifications are very delayed.

for anyone struggling with the promo code, you can register them as powerbeats3 no problem - its selecting beatsx that causes the problem and it gives you £27.88 credit in the UK, so use it even if you already have apple music/dont use apple music.

oops - looks like someone else beat me to it

...and I just received my notification that pickup is available.

It's odd that their app and website are inaccurate compared to what is actually on shelf.
