...and I just received my notification that pickup is available.

It's odd that their app and website are inaccurate compared to what is actually on shelf.

I just got off the phone with Apple to cancel the pickup order. It wouldn't let me cancel it online.

for anyone struggling with the promo code, you can register them as powerbeats3 no problem - its selecting beatsx that causes the problem and it gives you £27.88 credit in the UK, so use it even if you already have apple music/dont use apple music.

oops - looks like someone else beat me to it
So is the £27.98 added as a credit to your itunes store account ?

Can confirm this works! Thanks very much.

Just picked my order from my local Apple Store.

Question, how do you get the earbuds into the rubber case? The instructions are worse than IKEA's!

I have been using these for a few hours now and I'm over the moon with them! Comparable with my RHA 750's in sound, so for the extra convenience of wireless/W1 the price is spot on.

Yes, the BeatsX pair I got today sound great! A noticeable improvement over the Planar Backbeat Go set I was using previously.

Besides the fantastic sound, the best parts for me are the W1 chip and easy setup and switching, as well as charging via Lightning port. No more specialized micro USB cords to carry! :D

Does it do the kind of switching that the AirPods do? I can't get the BeatsX to automatically switch to my iPad Pro unless I go into the Bluetooth settings and tap the BeatsX entry in the list of devices. At least it appeared in the list.

Just picked up a pair. Good sound isolation, audio quality seems good as well (not too bass-heavy like many older Beats models). These are perfect to carry around your neck all day (also under a shirt/sweater). They don't slip away and you quickly forget they are there until you need them. Fit is good in my ears using the default tips. The iTunes credit plus a corporate discount effectively brought the price down by $45. I plan to use these as my new everyday earphones.

The Airpods don't switch automatically either.

So these have sold out most places for today pickup, according the Apple page. I even lost one store for pick-up while I was checking out. Fortunately there are many stores nearby :D

What kind of tips do you get? Do they include flange tips?

wait what is this itunes credit about? And how do I check for a corporate discount?
The "3 months free Apple Music" are actually a 3x$9.99 iTunes credit, which can be used for other iTunes purchases as well. For the discount you have to check with your employer (they can give you a special link to the Apple store if they participate). In my case the price was reduced to $135.

The beats x (as well as Powerbeats 3, solo 3, and I think a few others) come with a 3 month Apple Music trial. He way they do it tho is give I a code that credits your iTunes account $29.97 (in the US). So ou don't even need to use it on AM so it's effectively $30 iTunes Store credit. Use it for Netflix, apps, music, whatever you want

Looks like Canadians get a bit of a break with the Beats X

AirPods : US price is $159. Converted to CDN is $208. It actually sells for $219 in Canada

Beats X : US price is $150. Converted to CDN is $195. It actually sells for $179 in Canada

A disappointment: They don't turn off when you stick the magnetic earbuds together. :( You have to turn them on and off manually if you want to preserve the battery.

Only a short play so far but hot damn, these seem to be worth your waiting for them. From a sound quality perspective, nice bass and pretty good soundstage as well.

Just using the stock ear tips the seal is very good with the outside background noise isolated more than acceptable for me considering the Airpods give little if any. And I do not see these falling out of my ears and I was shoveling snow while listening. Another plus versus the Airpods, not feeling I need any type of Earskinz. And a real biggie for me is they go much louder than the Airpods for playback volume, I had given some folks some music on YT to try with the Airpods. It was recorded at low volume but I do not have to struggle any longer getting a good listen to that music with the Beats X.

Cannot wait to finish up outside and give these a good listen indoors.
Were you bundled up, if so did the wires catch on your jacket or hat if wearing one? I just picked mine up and the wires are catching on my jacket collar and frankly it's driving me nuts. My wired Apple earpods do the same thing for $149 less. The sound is great however, not sure about long term comfort, for me.
