Picked these up last Friday and although the sound quality and isolation are good plus the ease of W1 chip is great, the long cable and earbuds are deal breakers for me. The cable gets in the way such as my clothing and just looks downright weird as they stick out. Plus, lifting weights like bench pressing is not ideal as the weight of the cable drops and slightly pulls the earbuds out of the ear canal having to adjust them. Also, the earbud size that gives me the best overall sound are just not comfortable enough after a while. I've tried all the other size and although they might fit better, the bass suffers drastically and the Highs sound way too 'tinny'

I was able to purchase a pair of AirPods a few mins ago from Verizon and they should get here on Friday... the tech on those sound fascinating and never had an issue with EarPods not fitting my ear canals wrong. I know many on here have said that the BeatsX sound better than the AirPods but for a truly wireless headphone I'm looking ease of everyday use (gym, commuting, work, out and about, etc) the sound quality isn't a deal breaker for me as I have other quality cans if I truly want to immerse myself in the music.

I got the Beats X for my wife. So far they fit her profile very well ... she wears them at work all day and when she needs to pop on a conference call, she turns them on and just pops in the earbuds. They are ready to go at a moments notice. She is annoyed by the no "auto-off" thing though. I have the AirPods and testing the same song side by side, AirPods sounds lots better. Although the AirPods have better sound, I am still somewhat jealous of the look and feel of the Beats X, so much so I'm thinking of picking myself up a pair. The sweat thing bothers me as these would be the perfect workout headphones. I have powerbeats 2 headphones and loathe the ear hook ... I also have the Bose Soundsport, which sound amazing, however, hate the bulkiness of them. I guess all have their drawbacks ... on a side note ... I spent the work day at Starbucks Monday and used my AirPods there all day, switching between Mac and iPad for various reasons ... love the versatility of these, and being cord free has its merits too ....

Mine came in yesterday a day earlier than quoted for the free shipping and so far I really like them. Changed out the tips as the stock ones felt a little too tight. I only used them for about 15 minutes but I like what I heard. Definitely overall better than the AirPods in my opinion. I have a pair of Bose Soundsport Wireless that I picked up when they first came out and they sound similar but the battery like sucks on them. Will probably warranty them out and sell them off.

What tips did you wind up using?

In the little package they came in, I used the middle set. Kinda looks like they were have too layers to it. Best comfort to seal ratio I felt.

Ah.. ok. Thanks.

I'm waiting to see what Comply Foam tips work with the Beatsx.

I got my hands on a pair of beats that I been using today. They are nice, very lightweight. Easy to pair, comfortable in the ears. Pro tip, if you try the wing tips, it is tricky getting them off. They produce good music, but aren't particularly loud. They seem on par with the airpods I tried, and my wired ear pods. Call quality is fine. I still am curious about the sweat test, and how they last after a good workout. Other than that I give them a 7/8 out of 10. Really nice to use, but probably not worth the $150 that I paid. Certainly not as nice in audio quality as the Bose I use also. Still got to use it a little more before deciding on whether I will keep them.

I got mine a day earlier shipped than expected. They work nice but the way the wires stick out is kinda weird at first. Depending how the earbud is twisted before inserting in ear it could cause the wire to twist inwards and look/feel strange so have to remove, twist, and reinsert. They could have used thinner wires so they would just hang down more instead of bending outwards rather than the flat design but I notice there is less noise and rustling compared to other in ears I tried (probably due to length and choice of wire). I am referring to thumping noise when walking and other noises and these seem to isolate it better.

So I've been a bose user for a long time. I have the old sound sports that are amazing. But they have started to really fall apart at near the buds. I picked up a pair of the wireles sound sports sometime back and returned them a few days later. The sound quality was not even comparable to the corded sound sports. I just got the beats X hoping the sound would be close to my old sound sports but so far I've been less than thrilled. Everything sounds very tinny almost like the highs are way to high. The only way I can get decent sound is to shove them way into my ears which is very uncomfortable. Also I noticed that the labels are wrong on my headphones, it shows R for the left one and L for the right one. How have y'alls experience been with these?

I ordered 4 sets. 1 of the sets has this issue as well.

R for the left and L for the right one.

Mine were delivered today, so far I'm impressed. For those that think the volume is too low at max volume try turning off sound check in Settings > Music. The tips that came on the buds fit surprisingly good but I may try some of the Comply tips to see what all the hoopla is about.

I haven't seen any availability in any stores near me. I ordered on launch morning and they just got delivered today.
[doublepost=1487262987][/doublepost]In the morning when I turn on my Beatsx it doesn't connect to my iPhone. I have to manually forget it from bluetooth and repair. Anybody have this issue? Wondering if I have a defective pair.

Received mine yesterday (free 2day shipping) and am pretty happy. 30sec thoughts.
  • The winglets are a pain to remove...well in my case one was and one was overly easy
  • Tips: I went with the 2nd set, very comfortable.
  • Wire length: for me seems pretty good and comfortable.
  • Sound: Pretty flat, not heavy on the bass at all, quite pleased. I recently received a pair of the Sony MDRXB70BT for free and honestly, the amount of bass these produce is rather annoying, very unbalanced and heavy.
  • Case: kinda tricky to fit everything in nicely, but not bad

That doesn't sound right. If it continues I would return them and get a new pair.

Is your phone connected to another output device (i.e. Car BT) when this happens? I noticed issue when I was trying to transfer a call from my car to headphones.

Are these available in store anywhere? It looks like 2/20 now for Apple Store in Store availability?
The app shows 2/21 for the stores near me in Charlotte but I just peeked in the Apple Store nearby and both white and black were sitting on the shelf.

I stopped by BB about an hour ago, nothing. Employee said they were back ordered, I am not sure about that being correct though.

I loathe Best Buy. Called a store and gave them the sku and they said yes they have them. I asked if they could hold them and they said they need address and card and will ship them to me. I said oh no not online, in store. He was like yes Best Buy carries them. I said no in the store for pick up. He said no. Online order only. Am I talking to a robot?!? Guess Best Buy is order online only. Such a garbage store.

I agree on the double layer tips. Didn't even know they were there, thought it was just another size. I tried them and they provided me with a much more sealed fit, which is imperative for good sound with these earbuds. I've found if the buds aren't sealed in, the bass sound completely goes away and the sound is tinny.

In the little package they came in, I used the middle set. Kinda looks like they have two layers to it. Best comfort to seal ratio I felt.
