Hey all, I got a pair of the blue beats X, liked them online but in person don't like the color. if anyone got a pair of grey and they would be interested in trading fro the blue let me know! would be willing to pay shipping for you.

I've just seen a in blue and I'm glad I cancelled my online and went for the black, thought they would look like the ocean blue iPhone 7 case, but they aren't.

Yeah I thought they looked like a different color blue online, but think they are ugly lol

Noticed last night as I was running with them that I heard the sound of the wire banging at every step, this was kind of annoying....not a deal killer just still a bit of a disappointment.

Yeah, a lot of reviews are saying this is the biggest issue with them, but it should be noted these are not workout headphones, they are note water and sweat resistant. Beats wants you to buy the Powerbeats for that, they are protecting their brand.

Well, I tried the Airpods on a flight too and I have to disagree. I was trying to listen to an audiobook and had to crank them up to 100% to even understand the narrator. They provide no noise isolation at all. Perhaps it's good enough for loud music, but I'd never use these for watching movies or listening to spoken word content on a plane.
OK, so today I had my return flight ... I agree with your assessment. I never loaded up an audio book but I did watch a movie as opposed to music, and there were many times beyond action scenes that were difficult to make out the words. I am still waiting on my AirPods, but did switch halfway through the flight back to my Bose QC's to watch the movie comfortably. Still love the AirPods though, again, Beats X will be the way to go for in ear solutions and noise isolation. Thanks for the insight.

I'm surprised and a little disappointed that the BeatsX don't support the battery monitor in the status bar. You would think Apple Headphones would support this feature that went live in iOS 9.

anyone return these after using the free trial code?

There's no tie in with the product. There's no way for them to know. When you buy the Beats X, like the AirPods and other inexpensive Apple products, they only scan the product SKU, not the serial number. So there's no way for them to associate the Apple Music code in the box. When you return them, they don't open the box, they just scan it and the money goes back onto your card. I'm sure this will open the process to abuse, but I don't think Apple much cares. It's like back in the day people used to get a year of AOL with purchase of a computer, so they'd go to Best Buy (or CompUSA in the day), buy a laptop, sign up for the AOL promo, then return the laptop and they got to keep the AOL. If you really want to go through that effort for $30 of free Apple Music, so be it, LOL. Apple probably likes the idea cause then you're in and out of their stores and exposed to their products every 3 months haha. I don't get the point of Apple Music. I bought a pair of Beats X and gave my 3 month card to my friend. I see zero value in Apple music.

I am shortly, so will find out what happens re the store credit (which I went for rather than using it on Apple Music subscription).
update here when you can

Idc about the credit or anything but Im rebuying through my work bc ill get a 35% employee discount which cant be passed up

So you see no value in a 30 dollar itunes store credit ? You don't have to use it on an Apple Music subscription, I assume you realise this ?

How would one use it on something aside from Apple Music? I didn't register mine yet, but if I put the code in like a gift card it doesn't work. If I go to the link on the site, it makes me register and says 3 months Apple Music.

For me it just walked me right through everything once the credit was applied it asked if I wanted to apply it towards Apple music or Itunes credit.

I chose apple music and was charged only the tax and was told I was good till June

Interesting. I suppose I'd better apply mine and see if I can get it toward iTunes credit. I assume it'd just add it to the balance as if I was adding a iTunes Gift Card? Don't buy music but I do buy apps and it'd be nice to use it for that.

I registered at the link provided on the enclosed card and then waited for the email. The wording on the email:

To redeem your three free months of Apple Music
open iTunes with this link.
Or redeem manually using your code below.

Using the latter optionI Copied and pasted the code into "Redeem" on my itunes account and it added £29.97 (UK) to my itunes store account balance. So I can use that for music, films, apps - whatever.

It didn't give me an option of music or iTunes but I now have an extra $29.97 on my iTunes account.
