Finally getting these in tomorrow to see myself which suits me better, AirPods or these pups.

What happened in the end? Did you get a full refund even after redeeming the credit?

I just returned a white pair and went to another store and bought the black pair (wanted the black before but they didn't have them). No issue with refund, they didn't even open the box and see if the card was in there. Big scam opportunity, but I guess it's a calculated risk for them... Probably 90% margins on the headphones so a loss that doesn't even bother them.

I got my Comply T-500 foam tips in the mail today. They are unquestionably the size you want, they slide on and off with relative ease but are more than secure enough that you don't have to worry about them coming off on their own.

The T-400 are super tight on the BeatsX, they were a perfect fit on my Beats Tour 2.0 but fit tight on the Beats X. You have to basically pry them off from the back of the tip, they will not slide pop off. The tip will come off very deformed, almost as if you are ripping the foam off the plastic cylinder in the middle, but over time, will regain their shape. Yes, the T400s will work, but it isn't ideal - I would compare it to wearing a sock one size slightly too small, yeah it works, but it's a pain to pull it off.

Negligible sound difference between the 400 and 500, it shouldn't be a factor in your decision. The only difference between the 400 and 500s are the plastic cylinder in the middle of the foam.

I've had mine for about a week now. Battery life is fine, the new lightning connector makes it super simple to just plug them in to charge during lunch and last the whole 10 hour work day for me. They are pretty lightweight and comfortable. Need to get some foam tips, so thanks for the T-500 recommendation.

My ONLY complaint (and unfortunately it bugs the living bejeebies out of me): They do not re-connect when they are unplugged from charging or when I step away from my phone while wearing them. It's terrible that they do not automatically connect when they need to. I have to manually power them on again to reconnect. I was used to my Jaybird X2's reconnecting at all times. Am I missing something or is this expected? Kind of embarrassing to assume they're connected and turn my music or YT video on and it plays full blast from my phone.

The problem is that they automatically turn off when you plug in the charger cable, and there also seems to be an auto-power off when they are not connected to anything for a longer time (though I haven't been able to figure out when exactly that happens). Mine do re-connect when I briefly step away from the device though.

The 500's are definitely the way to go. I got the S/M/L pack last Thursday and after some use I realized the Large are the best fit for me. They literally make the outside world disappear. At first I thought the anti ear wax barrier would muddy the sound but it doesn't affect the sound at all.

I see several listed on amazon.

Is this the one if I just want large? Not sure what tx500 vs t500 difference is.

I personally find the wax doesn't get stuck in the middle part of the tip, if anything, it gets stuck on the outside rims of the tips so I go with the T-500s; they are also way cheaper.

I've wondered if there is a difference with the audio between the TX and T. I may buy the T-500's next time to experiment.

Definitely want the ear wax guard, hehe, so these i linked are with the ear wax guard?

Yes the TX designates the WaxGuard as they call it. I ordered the regular T-500's arriving Thursday to see if they have better audio without the WaxGuard.

Well my Comply 500 tips came in. I went with medium since I've never used them before...too big.

Do you compress them before you put them in your ear?? The medium are the same size as the default tips that come with the Beats X.

Yeah, they compress but they just don't fit as good as the tips that came installed on the earbuds.

I just got the beats X, and knowing that I didn't like in ear headphones I wanted to give them a shot anyways. My immediate impression is that the AirPods are way better and more convenient. The long wire is annoying and they don't feel comfortable at all.

I just received the Comply 500 mediums and I feel like the sound is diluted a bit like they don't seal completely or sound escapes through the foam. I bought them because I have had a hard time keeping the BeatsX plugs securely in my ears but I had settled on the medium BeatsX using the large wing tips.

I'll keep trying the Comply for a bit but so far, I'm regretting the $15 spend.

If you are following the instructions by compressing them and holding them in for a few seconds while they expand then its possible that they aren't the correct size. Initially I purchased the S/M/L Comply tips to determine which fit me better and for me the large are the perfect seal for isolation.

I've read mixed reviews about the noise isolation of the BeatsX (setting aside third-party tips). Some say it's great, some say it's mediocre.

Does anyone here that has bought the BeatsX commute on the subway? How are they for blocking out subway train noise?

IMO the noise isolation is as good as any other in-ear model. Of course, you have to make sure that you get a proper seal (i.e. pick the right tip).

One area where I think they are better than most other models I have tried is cable noise. Not sure whether it's the material or the slack due to the cable length, but I almost never hear them rubbing against my neck or collar.

Not on a subway, but I used them on a plane yesterday. Works well.

probably depends on peoples ears, i'm guessing some people that are saying it doesn't don't have a real tight fit or are using the wrong tips.
