No, some of us after being with AT&T, before that Cingular, and before that PacBell Wireless are jumping ship for the Android because unlike many, I need a phone first and a media device second. I also believe that the majority of people who suddenly dislike the OS have never actually used it. It needs some work but so did the iOS.

Must be your area, and it sounds like you settled for an Android device so I was right. The phone part of my iPhone 4 works perfectly fine no matter which way I hold it. I only had 2 dropped calls with my 3GS when I was talking with a Verizon phone in Seattle. They called me back with an AT&T phone and we didn't have any problems. My iPhone 4 has been perfect so far. I would never trade my beautiful iPhone 4 for a dorky looking Android phone, I don't care what anyone says about antennas or "customization." And yes I have used the OS with my friends Droid, it was clunky, laggy, and looked like junior high kids designed the theme/app icons.

I guess you don't know me then.

I don't have an Android because I'm stuck on Verizon. I have AT&T and have no problems with them. I have Android because it's a better OS.

why are you defensive, im just saying from the people i have talked to dont like android, and i also said the common user, meaning the person who isnt gonna use all the features and use mainly the phone, texting, and internet would like the iphone better because its just an easier laid out os. i like parts of android because of some of the features that ios doesnt have like wireless hotspot and i own an iphone.

Android Beats iPhone In Popularity Contest
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2024..._in_popularity_contest_for_now.html?tk=hp_blg

Android is NOT going anywhere.

Rag on Android because it isn't "clean" or as "polished" as iOS.

But well before iOS, manufacturers were pumping out crappy OSes. Android practically resurrected Motorola and took HTC to the next level in sales. No Android means more crappy software made from Motorola, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson, etc. Many of these OTHER manufacturers NEED Android because they can't create their own software.

It's weakness that it is all over the place is also its greatest asset. Like a double-edged sword. It gives us a "choice." It may NOT be moving software forward because Google lacks the engineering experience in software and UI like Apple, but it is moving hardware forward. Why should I wait a year for Apple to move technology forward with their annual updates? Why pick only ONE form factor?

If PC and Microsoft can succeed in the desktop space, so can Android in the mobile world. It doesn't always have to have unified specs.

Again, as i've stated before, you people commenting on a platform you've never tried and don't use now is ignorant to say the least. People you've talked to ...

WebOS > iOS >>> Android >>>>> The rest (this includes Symbian and WinMo)

No Android means more crappy alternatives and a monopoly from Apple which I would personally HATE myself.

Like I said, it would be Apple keeping technology stagnant in hardware and features. Apple would dictate the pace of what you should have in a phone every year. Google is actually doing Apple a favor from dealing with any anti-trust laws. It is almost the same way when Microsoft and Apple needed each other back in 1997. Doing each other a favor. No Apple, and Microsoft would have to deal with anti-trust lawsuits when their software had like over 95% of their market.

Like I said, Apple fankids. Rag on Android all you want. But no Android means more crappy, buggy software like Symbian and WinMo as an alternative. Those are CRAP compared to Android and look like bigger CRAP compared to iOS and webOS.

Verizon doesn't need the iPhone. They are still the #1 carrier even though they have the highest prices. They didn't need the iPhone before Android came along, and they definitely don't need it now that phone manufacturers are putting out some really competitive smart-phones.

If Apple is to expand, then they need Verizon. 70% of iphone sales were repeat customers, so the growth has slowed.

By now, everyone and their momma has seen an iphone owned by a friend or family member... almost everyone willing to go to AT&T for an iPhone has at this point.

My god, do you people not know how to carry out a proper Internet debate? I argued against that person's single statement, as in it doesn't prove or validate anything on its own and could actually, AGAIN, ON ITS OWN, imply the opposite. Hence why I said without quoting sales statistics in parentheses.

Trying to have a dissuasion on here is like explaining to a three year old where the sun goes at night.

It also helps in an internet debate to keep track of who made what statement. I made both of them.

So far, I've provide TWO pieces of evidence that refutes the "sinking ship" hypothesis. The original article you posted was based off incorrect info that CNN later corrected.
http://money.cnn.com/2010/07/23/technology/iphone_4_att/
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly said that 20% of Android customers say they'll buy another Android phone. The survey actually revealed that 20% of all smartphone customers say they'll buy an Android phone.
That makes 3.

So, internet debate expert, where are your facts to support your "implied opposite" increased production = sinking ship?

Agreed. Apple is doing great on their own. They can hardly provide iPhones for a single carrier in the U.S., let alone if they had two or more. International releases would be postponed even longer.

Supply constraints at launch me very little. In a few months all the people who had iphones before will have upgraded and anyone who wants an iphone can have one.

VZ isn't going to get the iPhone until AT&T has LTE and so does VZ.

I hear this often. Exactly why does VZW need LTE in order to get an iphone? If you say because apple doesnt want to deal with CDMA, well then VZW will never get an iphone because LTE phones will need to support 3G and 2G for a long time.

It also helps in an internet debate to keep track of who made what statement. I made both of them.

My mistake. I didn't realize you were the one who made the original statement. Either way. I've acknowledged that proper sales statistics would refute the implication, so I'm not sure why calling me an Internet debate expert and asking me a question that I more or less already answered was necessary.

Again, as i've stated before, you people commenting on a platform you've never tried and don't use now is ignorant to say the least. People you've talked to ...

i have used it, ive played with it for a while, i just dont own it so i cant say i have used it it enough to make a clear decision, but from what i have used i dont care for it much

So far the people refuting the Android sinking ship are making the Apple side look like fools as usual.

Why would you get flamed for posting an article that basically says androids are going to fail?

Because this is a forum for Apple products. So since this forum is pretty much about apple. I don't think posting an article about how android's going to fail would be an issue.

Actually Apple doesn't need Verizon. In fact i hope apple takes the iPhone to T-mobile or even Sprint. This way Verizon would be hurt financially. As arrogant as Verizon is they pretty much need to suffer.

Do you wish death on Apple then, as arrogant as they are?

Nope because i don't view apple as being arrogant. So what they like to control things? If you spent millions of dollars developing products you would like some control over those things you spent money on as well.

The difference between apple and verizon is that Apple has never gone out of their way and insulted them. Verizon has done that to apple Via advertising, etc.

Not a nice way to bite the hand that they want to feed them if you ask me. But that's just my opinion which i am entitled to. Even if certain apple haters on this board feel otherwise. Feel free to opine because i'm sure you and the rest of the trifecta will.

So Apple "Im a Mac" ads that ran for 3-4 years were...? Oh

I can never understand some of the mac user's reasonings

So Apple "Im a Mac" ads were...? Oh

Did that have anything to do with Verizon? I'm not talking about windows VS Macs. I'm talking about carrier based attack ad's. You want to bring something else into this.

If you read my previous post i said that Apple never did anything to attack Verizon. So if you want to being other segments of Apple into the situation to defend your POV then that means it was weak to start.

Well were are talking about companies. Verizon is a company which deals in much more than wireless. So I assume you just want the Apple Computer portion dead. YES or NO? And you only want Motorola's Phone portion to suffer. YES or NO?

That article missed a rather large point: Name me one single Android handset that has sold more than the iPhone. It's never going to happen.

Sure you can put android on a bunch of sub-standard devices that any carrier will give away for free... but that doesn't make it a better OS.

You were discussing companies. I was discussing Apple and Verizon period. It's useless trying to discuss this with you.
