I saw GnR last tour ... they ****ing sucked. That was a waste. Metallica was solid on the Black tour (and previous). Never seen the Crew, but i can imagine it would be painful for me to watch. Too sappy for me ...

Axle needs to get back into his electronic experimention.

I think that would be one of those groups where the time to see them live has come and gone. They peaked, they were in their prime during that magical time many years ago, and haven't been the same since. I can think of quite a few other groups like that as well...

Bad things happened last time Metallica and Guns 'N' Roses toured together...
Of course, the only original member of the band is Axl, who I would personally love to punch in the stomach for being a complete tool.

Anyways, I saw a "recreation" (sort-of) of Bennie Goodman's 1938 concert at Carnegie Hall. The band was awesome, the lead trumpet player could wail the high stuff like Maynard Furgeson, and the band leader was great, both in playing and in humor.

I want to go see Dream Theater on March 29th (or 30th) in Wallingford, CT (or Boston). 2 sets with intermission, no opening acts. only $35!

KanYe West Touch the Sky tour Hammersmith Apolo London

Just went to see KanYe West in Hammersmith Apollo London, on Tuesday night....It was phenomenol, he put a superb performance full of energy and flair which lasted for the best part of 2 hours.....

This was by far the best live performance I have ever seen. What was great is that you could see Kanye was getting real joy from the ovation he got, and that he appreciates where he is today....He put his heart and soul into this performance unlike many other artists....

Not only this the quality of music was outstanding with Kanye's hits of both albums and things like bitter sweet symphany by the verve mixed in with A-Ha's take on me....

If any of you ever have a chance to go see Kanye i suggest you get the tickets, its well worth it.....

Anyway here are some of my favourite pics that I took

ShadOW

Swollen Members show last night ... Kamphire Collective and Sweatshop Union opened. The openers were amazing! Kamphire is getting really good and Sweatshop (Canand, B.C.) is a great positive (and classic sounding) hip-hop group (think Dialated Peoples meets Jay-5). Very inspiring. :)

Oh, one more thing ... the DJ for SU had a PowerBook on stage. ;)

I saw Kanye in December when he came to Vancouver and it was by far the best live performance I have ever seen. I have seen other bands/artists that I prefer more than Kanye, but he just put on an amazing show. I can't wait to go see him again.

Just caught Franz Ferdinand, Oasis on their Asia tour recently.
So jealous. I think they are so much fun live (Franz Ferdinand). And it'd be interesting to see Oasis...

Er... Attempted to see Matt Costa at Slim's in SF. Well... I was there and I caught the opening band The 88. I was too trashed so I had to leave before Matt costa even took the stage.

Pillar - First Mariner Arena, Baltimore
Casting Crowns Lifesong Tour - Some Church Building, Pennsylvania

Concerts I've been to so far this year. Both ROCKED!

While in Philly earlier this week I saw Stellastarr* with Editors (the latter were frigging amazing, anyone who can still make a gig should go) and then David Ford + KT Tunstall (whose album does no justice in comparison). Both were awesome shows, and I get to repeat the second tomorrow here in Pitt!

And I just got a ticket to Snow Patrol's next US tour in June. :D

Next up:
Murs
Sigur Ros
NIN
RHCP

I'm sure a few more will sched. tours soon.

*MIA*
Jamie Lidell
Mr. Liff
And all those shows too painful to know im missing.

I saw Death Cab for Cutie, Franz Ferdinand, and The Cribs on March 31st. It was an awesome show. Franz and the Cribs put on good performances, but Death Cab was amazing. It was my first time seeing them, and I'm already waiting for them to come back. When you think about Death Cab, you usually think mellow indie music, so I wasn't expecting them to rock out... but they did. It was by far the best show I've ever been to.

Go see Death Cab if you get the chance.

Guster last night. It was pretty super. I'll have to admit that I'm not a big fan of their newer material, but the mere fact they played their old stuff more then half the time made the concert very entertaining, and I'd go see them again if given the chance.

That said, the opening band was extremely horrible, god awful bad. One of the worst bands I've ever heard, and that includes high school talent show bands. They were realllllllly bad.

I saw Boris on Wednesday night at the Thekla in Bristol.
The Thekla is a boat!!

Boris were awesome, if it had been a bit louder it would have been even better.

I'm ashamed, I've never been to a concert.

And, while being shameful, I want to see Green Day.

You're young. Aside from Riverfest, and a Clapton concert my parents took me to in grade eight I didn't start going out and looking for concerts until I was 18. Don't sweat it. :)

For heath reasons mostly, I've never been to a concert in my life (I'm 30). But this year I have tickets and hotel reservations to go to Coachella, and I couldn't be more excited about it.

Highlights for me include: Sigur Ros, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bloc Party, Metric, The Go! Team, Mates of State, Scissor Sisters, My Morning Jacket, Devendra Banhart, Franz Ferdinand, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Cat Power (if she shows), Deerhoof, The Duke Spirit, Eagles of Death Metal, Matt Costa, Matisyahu, Dungen and a few more.

Everyone plays, on average, for an hour, give or take twenty minutes. Headliners play at least an hour.

Was that in Tucson, AZ at UofA? if so, I was at that show. Third time seeing death cab and first for Franz. They were both awesome. I wasn't really a fan of the cribs.
