Zagg FTW. Have had excellent results in both product and service. Although you can get a cheap glass protector from Walmart for less than a Zagg replacement shipping.

Why not buy a dozen of cheap tempered glasses? You can buy them as cheap as 2 or 3 bucks each and they protect really well. And if one would happen to break, replace it with the next...

Buy the cheap-ola protectors on Amazon. Plenty of great options for $10 and less (and Prime eligible). They come out of the same factories as the "name brand" one, and no worse. Same material. It baffles me that people pay $20, $30 or more for these.

I've purchased cheap screen protectors before and they've been, well, cheap. I also purchased a glass screen protector for an HTC One for $40 from Bodyguardz and it was just a square piece of glass. They didn't even bother to bevel the edges.

I have the Belkin glass screen protector installed at the Apple store on my iPhone 6S plus and it is still doing fine after six months.

What I advise people is that when it comes to screen protectors, price does not necessarily equate to quality.

That's great. I had $10 glass protectors that I installed myself on my 6 and then 7 which gave me zero trouble too. You make my point, and I think agree. There is no reason to pay $30 for a protector. There are plenty of good $10 options on Amazon. Paying more is no guarantee of getting quality. Paying less is no guarantee of getting junk. Obviously, whether buying a TV, a diamond, or a screen protector the buyer has to do his or her due diligence.

I don't understand the need for these protectors. I've never been gentle with my iPhones, and have never seen so much as a hairline scratch on the screen. The iPhone 6S that I replaced with a X looks brand new.

I find your comment interesting, az431, because I do not believe that I am rough on my tech devices and yet after a month of ownership I always find scratches on the screen protectors. I always make sure that my smartphone is the only thing in my pocket when I carry it. I don't carry it in the same pocket with coins or keys. I'm always mindful of where I set my smartphone. I always my smartphone is a case that usually has slightly raised edges around the screen. Yet the screen protectors, regardless of brand, always end up with scratches.

I’m curious why people use these. Personally me and my wife have never used one and I’ve only ever had one scratched screen. That’s was on my iPhone 4s. Currently our iPhone 6 pluses are 3 years old and neither have scratches. I carry mine in my pocket with change and my keys. My wife’s goes in her purse with everything. We have cases on them but no screen protectors.

I know this is just our experience but it just doesn’t seem necessary at least for us. Do others have differing experiences?

The problem isn't that they break too easily. The problem is they break too easily for $40. I buy my screen protectors for around $3 a pop. Every one I've cracked has done its job and I have no complaints.

£40? That is quite steep!

I shouldn't be too surprised really, since the phone costs £1000, what's another £40?
it had apple backing basically it so they could up-charge to $40, surprised they didn't for $50 tbh. Probably costs $1 to make lol

My protector has been absolutely rock solid since release day. With that being said, I’ll update y’all when it now inevitably cracks later today.

I'm thinking the same. Absolutely zero issues since launch day installation...

Here's a tip, don't bother with one - the screen is perfectly fine as it is.

Well if Apple had a screen that didn't keep smudges and fingerprints the way that they do then I wouldn't need one. Not worried so much about protection, get tired of seeing all the fingerprints. Using a matte finish one I don't have that problem near to the level of just the phone. Everyone has their opinions or needs for screen protectors.

I use a glass/glare "protector" (from the Apple store but not the Belkin brand) not to protect the glass (the glass Apple uses is very scratch resistant anyway) but to reduce the glare (especially outdoors). I wish Apple offered a better glare resistant version of the iPhone, then I wouldn't have to use a stupid glass/glass protector.

Because there are people out there that are not YOU.
One of my family member has the phone all covered up with cases and screen protector and the phone still ended up looking like it got ran over by a train.

Back on topic, my Belkin anti-glare on the iPhone X is a finger grease magnet and it does not cover the whole screen.
What an overpriced piece of junk.

The point of these things (anti-glare or privacy models aside) is to provide scratch protection and act as a first line of defense from objects striking the glass itself. What made this $40 protector better than the $7 three pack from amazon? I've gotten some clunkers from Amazon that cracked quickly but so long as I've stuck with familiar brands I've had no problems.

Last month I bought a package of 3 Moto G4 Play Screen Protector, 9H Hardness, Ultra Clear, Anti-Scratch, Case Friendly, Tempered Glass for $6. No problems. Company is AILUN.
The same type is on my HTC 10. These protectors are easier to clean of fingerprints than the original display surface of the phones.
$40? I don't even look at anything that expensive. Ridiculous.

Agreed, its absolutely comical that people think these things actually do anything.

I agree. I don’t know when these “glass” protectors started to become de rigueur, but the ‘3 for $5’ plastic film ones work just fine. It’s a pure money grab IMO.

Have had 7 iphones, 4 ipads, an ipod touch, always has a case but not screen protector.
Never had a cracked screen ;)
I feel like I wasted so much money on apple care.

the spigen one cracks super easily too. I bought the OMOTON screen protector from amazon (cheapest at the time) and it seems thicker than the spigen. No cracks yet.
