Wow.... one out of what... thousands of Android phones? You sure showed him. Do you want a cookie?

Be smarmy all you want, but this was news because they specifically did this to outflank Apple removing the headphone jack. I'm sorry you didn't keep tabs on what was going on.

This was also reported on Mashable, The Verge, Slashdot, and all the other news sources you tried to avoid in order to be willfully ignorant.

There are also plenty of articles about everything going USB-C and third parties are already coming out with those accessories as well.

I'd rather be smarmy than complacent.

You do realize that most cars made before 2007 did not have a USB port or Bluetooth right? So super small? No. I would wager at least 50% of the population.

And how many use the aux port, if they even have one, most cars didn't?

The whole adapter-in-adapter mess is starting to remind me of this...

Listning to music ok..can you make calls thru the lightning EarPods plugged in along with the lightning cable charger at the same time

Great! Since you are so happy, there is no reason for you to be dwelling here at Macrummors than... move along. Make sure to replace all your other Apple products so you don't have to come back here and complain about about them either.

As a Mac user since 1999 (and currently still a mac user), I think I'll stay right here on MacRumors, thank you very much. For that matter, as a long-term iPhone user, I'll stay right here and voice my opinion about the steaming turd Apple is trying to pass off as their new iPhone.

I suggest you try moving to North Korea where people who have different opinions can be made to go away.

If you have a 12" MacBook and buy an iPhone 7, you're gonna need a big bag of adaptors...

You can't use the Lightning to USB-A cable for your iPhone without an adaptor, and you can't use the same earphones or headphones for both without an adaptor, and if you need to do more than one thing at a time with either ports you need more adaptors! Hurray :D

You do realize that it's 2016 now, right? Why not just complain because Apple doesn't give you a free adapter to work on 8-track?

Also, sorry, but if you don't have a car newer than one from 2007, then perhaps spending $650+ on a brand new iPhone 7 shouldn't be your priority right now.

Some people have a car to get from point A to point B. If their boring Toyota or Honda from 2003 fits the job then why waste money on a new car? I drive a 2004 Mazda RX-8. I have a grom audio adapter so I can charge and play music over lightning, but not everyone does. My dad drives a 2002 Porsche, my mom a 2003 Saab. They all serve their purpose well, so why run out a buy a newer car (when the old one runs with out any issues) so we can use our courageous new iPhone?

I've been trying since yesterday without success to think of a single occasion since I got my first mp3 player that I have listened to music with wired headphones while the device I was listening on was charging. I'm pretty sure I won't notice a single difference in my use case sans headphone jack.

But, you know, use case. There should obviously be options for cases other than mine, and I'm glad this one will be available early on.

To be fair, this does answer the question posed a million times yesterday: "how do I charge my phone and listen to my wired headphones at the same time?"

Can we go back and delete those pointless posts?

As for people complaining about cost, relax. Monoprice will have a $15 version in no time.

That is why we are moving to USB c.........

Except for MacBook and a very few other laptops, -C is slow getting traction.

1 reason is the 100w max power capacity, which is less than "pro" level laptops need.

Still need a USB-C adapter dongle to use all the USB peripherals, anyway.

Oh great... A really clunky cumbersome dongle. All in the name of profit. Belkin loves Apple, as do hundreds of other iPhones accessory makers.

I'm glad someone is doing it, but 3 thoughts.
3) is there anything stopping you from using other adaptors with this?
(like the lightning SD card reader and power, or USB Camera adaptor and music/audio...and other combos)
If so, that would be even more useful.

I'd like to know this as well. When they remove the headphone jack from iPads the loss of the Lightning connector to get it back is going to be annoying.

I would guess dual data adaptor via lightning will not be possible, I hope someone tries it though.

If your phone is plugged in and charging, you definitely want to be wearing wireless headphones. That just seems obvious. You know, so you can get up from your desk or even just rotate your chair around to talk to someone.

Bluetooth headphones can be bought for $20 now. They will cost $10 in six months due to increased demand and economies of scale in manufacturing them. Better quality Bluetooth headphones will cost more, but I bet they drop in price by 10% every month. The lack of jack will be a non-issue in 12 months.

For me it is a great and needed solution. I use phone at my desk on conference calls that last all day sometimes. I need to be able to charge my phone while using headphones. I don't care about many cables for that use. can use to charge the new buds case and the phone at same time also which will be good.

Oh, absolutely hold on to that Saab. Those things are (unfortunately) a dwindling breed.

I have a 91, 94, 03, my wife has a 2015. I love my older cars, and I think they are more fun majority of cars past 2007, better looking too.

That said, why would you say buying a new car should be priority over getting a new phone.

Some people might say that way of thinking is not financially smart.
