Every Mets fan is going to rage at this commentI don't think that's a good shade of blue. But… I especially don't think you should mix blue and… orange?
(edit) People are pointing out that blue and orange are complementary. That's true, but this shade of blue is a lot closer to purple, so the complement would be closer to yellow. Which in this case it's not. Moreover, I personally wouldn't want two saturated colors calling for attention on my watch.
They have editors and writers for a reason... I hope? ;-;This is what happens when ChatGPT writes your articles.
It is very difficult to get an even color when anodizing. And any warranty status?
A red one would be interesting. Why is black such a hard color to pull off? Strange...
On what basis? The jeweler purchased the watch and is free to modify it, at best it voids the warranty. How long before Apple sends a cease and desist order? I’m sure this is against Apple’s TOS.
And if they are NOT authorized third party Apple reseller, then they DEFINITELY can expect a cease and desist.
Or Auburn Al.There could be a large market for this in Gainesville, FL.

Yeah, if someone can afford to collect luxury watches which cost thousands to tens of thousands of dollars or more, and watch bands made from gold or other precious metals, then they can afford $700 to anodize their Apple Watch in a color they want, even if it is something they don’t wear all the time.Watch people are weird. They will calmly dismiss the Apple Watch one moment, and completely spaz out about it the next. Which kinda makes sense, because their 5 or 6 figure fashion accessories are simultaneously vastly superior in some ways, and hopelessly obsolete and anachronistic in others. They want them to be completely separate categories, but the AW goes on your wrist and tells time, which are 2 of the 3 things that luxury watches do. (the 3rd thing being costing more than the car).
This doesn’t work. The Apple Watch Ultra is more about function over form. Sure, it’s far from ugly. But it does not have a beautiful form.
The Apple Watch Ultra was designed to be rugged for activities such as mountain climbing and scuba diving or simply for people with active lifestyles who don’t want to worry about their Watch getting torn up or running out of power. Doing this, to that, is just wrong and shows that the creator doesn’t understand the purpose or essence of what they’re modifying. It’s a mismatch.
The closest analogy I can think of is forging a survival knife out of solid gold.
Agreed. I think it looks out of the place too, possibly because of the hue. A deeper orange colour might work, for example. And yet, it looks out of place here.
PSA. It's possible to dislike the resulting aesthetic and appreciate the craftsmanship. Both can exist. 😜
As a process nerd, I'm curious if they have to completely disassemble the device or how they go about achieving those results. Would love to know more about their process.
Anyway, I'd not be surprised to see Apple Watch Ultra available in different colors at some point in the future.
Really? How long before Apple sends a cease and desist order? I’m sure this is against Apple’s TOS.

I doubt they had any concern for what color was complementary to orange. They probably chose the blue because it’s a nice color. And the amount of orange on the watch is minimal anyway.I agree. However, the color wheel says blue is opposite of orange, so I assume that is their thinking? 🫣
This is top shelf humorI don't think that's a good shade of blue. But… I especially don't think you should mix blue and… orange?
