I always find it fascinating when someone can do this level of quality on a finished product. How difficult it must be to not damage the unit.

Manufactures can paint and surface the parts individually, here it’s finished.

Very cool, though not my flavor.
The watch was disassembled before it was colored. So not really any different than what a manufacturer would do.

I wonder how well whatever the color will stay on the watch? It would look quite bad if the original color starts showing.
Not very well at all. Titanium is not that hard and scratches easily. With a natural finish that’s not a problem. When it’s anodized, the natural color will show through when it’s scratched and it will look really bad, really quickly.

This is interesting, but as investment I would go for something that will still be functional in 5 years from now. Like a Rolex, or even a Swatch.
My ss series 4 is still functional from 5 years ago, still works & looks great.. I use that on the rare chance my ultra doesnt work with an outfit 😂

I like it, but not enough to buy it. My current apple watch 6 is also blue.

I wonder what an emerald green one would look like -- I might buy that. :)

I suspect it depends on how it was anodized and the surface prep for anodizing. I have an anodized Ti pen that hasn’t scratched in several years of use.

I like it, but I like flashy and colorful stuff, which puts me in a minority among my fellow white people Apple users.

I love my ultra, and I love the standard grey color. This just seems to be something to draw attention to your watch even more than you would with the orange band. I ditched the orange and got a subtle grey band to slightly offset the light grey watch.

Looks ugly but to each their own. I think the colour choice Apple made is perfect, although would be interesting to have a space grey option.

The blue is fine, and I'd rather see more vibrant colours. But I really hate how bad it looks mixed with that gold and orange. It looks garish and overdone.

It's still a digital watch. Like putting lipstick on a pig.

(For the record I own an Apple Watch Ultra and wear it every day and love it. However, IMO this type of treament is just bizzaro. Must be nice being rich 😜.)

If it had a blue crown and black antenna lines it would be a knockout. For people who love blue it would be amazing.

“the Action button, while retaining an International Orange outline…”

…where? am I blind, or is this a typo? the only International Orange outline I can see is on the crown.

anyway, whatever- if someone wants to pony up some extra beaucoup bills for a customized Watch, that’s their choice. I’ve enjoyed seeing this color (or something close to it) on other models, but the blue is a little too purple (I do believe he said something to the effect of “purpleish-blue,” I’ve watched this enough times trying to inspect the Action button to go back and get that verbatim) to go with the orange, imo.

and the gold link bracelet…no. not even an Apple-brand Link Bracelet? I’ve wanted a gold-finish Link Bracelet to go with my gold AW for a long time, it seems like a shocking thing for Apple to not make, but what do I know about the potential challenges behind making it.

point is: that gold mixed with that Watch is a horrendous combo. oh well.

[edit: h/t @nieks for saying my original point here]

More colors coming from Apple. Sit tight
Apple usually does not provide a huge array of colors in a first generation technology like the Ultra
