I received my ship notice from Apple last evening and it is still on track to arrive tomorrow, Sep 16. Mine cleared customs this morning in Louisville. I ordered within a minute or so of the site going live at Midnight Pacific time.
This has nothing to do with the Best Buy preorders if you ordered it from Apple.

Obviously - it just confirms speculation that the shift in dates is limited to 3rd parties and not to Apple's own orders. But, the stock must have been limited to have even Apple-based orders in the first few minutes get pushed out past the initial day.

Anybody preorder from Target and have a similar experience with the delivery date being pushed back? I notice that the vast majority of Apple Watch Series 2 models on Target's website are listed as "Coming Soon". Only a select few models are available for preorder.

I agree. I just don't like companies claiming launch day delivery to get you to order it there when they should know they don't have it and probably never intended getting the stock to fulfill orders. At least Apple have an accurate representation of delivery date prior to ordering on their website. That is the key difference. At least then the consumer can make a decision on doing the order there or somewhere else.

Again, we don't know the whole story. Maybe Apple told Best Buy they would be receiving x number of units in time for launch day delivery, Best Buy ran with that, and then Apple couldn't honor the commitment. Something is definitely amiss if even Apple is having to push back the delivery dates on some of their own orders.

Preordered on Monday when the style I wanted (Series 2 rose gold with pink sand band) was available for preorder. Got the delay email but no compensation. SO i guess you only get the compensation if you didn't or couldn't preorder on Friday. Which stinks a little since i was ready to preorder on Friday. And the only reason I preordered from Best Buy is that I have their credit card and could do a 6 mo payment no interest.

I guess I'm just a Best Buy sucker. The same thing happened when I preordered my iphone 5. I waited about a month for that phone.

I pre-ordered and paid for express delivery of a series 2 stainless black 42mm sport band watch for Sept 16th delivery. Chat today they told me it would not be shipped for delivery tomorrow. The online agent refunded the $15 express shipping fee.

A few minutes ago I received a $50 Target gift card. No explanation or other email but I am assuming it is to compensate me for the delay. I would rather just get my watch tomorrow but a $50 gift card is a nice gesture.

Did the Target rep you talked to mention if it will be available in store tomorrow?

Target pre-orders just started receiving $50 gift cards too, no reason given as of yet.

I ordered from Best buy, my email didn't give me a $50 coupon. I think this is a complete hoax. Either that it's only being offered to the most top models of the watch

No hoax, not just top models, but I think only Series 2.

If you use gmail, check your promotions tab- mine got filed there.

I will never pre-order from Best Buy again!!!! Never! As Jerry on Seinfeld once said... "I don't think you do. You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them."
Love the quote & so apropos

Very nice and smart of Best Buy to do.

Not surprised Apple Watch 2 delayed. It's too common for consumers to be misled without recourse. Sure I'm disappointed; however, I appreciate Best Buy giving $50....
Waiting is now an unfortunate way of life
Hang in there - hope it's only 12 days

This is some serious BS for those who preordered. I walked into my local Best Buy today and bought an Apple Watch Series 2 right off the shelf. If anyone is getting shafted on their preorder, I highly suggest checking all your local stores.

Hell, I saw someone walk by me with a brand new Jet Black iPhone 7 at Best Buy today while I am stuck waiting an extra week, at least, while Verizon figures out which way is up. I'm starting to feel like preordering in general is for suckers.
