I'm in line to get my verizon 3G at best buy, and they keep saying that they have to activate it in store. Is anyone else hearing this?

They weren't doing any activations at the Best Buy that I went to. They were just selling the iPads and accessories.

Also for those that didn't get them today, I wouldn't give up hope that BB won't get extra shipments in the coming days.

Tickets

Don't think this will matter at this point but my local best buy has been giving tickets out all day because the manager didn't want to deal with the lines. Great idea but wish they would have stuck to some standard. I did get a ticket, now just have to wait 30 minutes to buy. Lesson learned west coast, head to Best Buy now and get a ticket.

I was able to get a black leather smart cover. They had most of the plastic colors, but the only leather was black.

There were the figures for the Newington, CT location. A lot of us were in line and the manager kept saying they had "plenty of each".

Since when did 5 amount to plenty? Guy in front of me got the last 32, only option left was 16 white. I passed :(

Sorry to hear it :( I went to North Haven and they had a lot. Not a TON, but definitely at least 100.

Just got mine from Best buy in boca raton, fl. went at 3:30, was about 20th in line which wasnt bad at all... alot of people ending up showing up and the way they issued tickets was so stupid.

they walked up and down the line with one product at a time... long story short, people at the front of the line didnt end up with what they wanted because some waited for ipads that were not even being carried by best buy =(

oh well also took 45 minutes to pay

I stopped into a local BB at 5:00PM. They stopped giving out tickets before I arrived. After a 45 minute wait I walked out with the last 64GB Black 3G.

I'm in line as of 3:45pm and I'm 13th. Hope 13 is my lucky number for 32GB WiFi.

My BB ended up only have 10 so I did not get one. I called up my dad and he gave me his AAFES log in. There on line orders are quoting the same time as Apple. I ordered a White 32GB WiFi for $589 + no tax. Saving $10 off MSRP and almost $60 on tax will make the pain and wait a little easier.

In line at BB Las Vegas (summerlin). About 75 people ahead of me. Still about 20 minutes before they start giving out tickets. A guy said they've got about 150 units but who knows if they'll have the one I want (64GB wifi black).

Tickets handed out at BB on Rea rd. south of Charlotte. Black 64gb wifi went first (maybe 5) then the 16GB black wifi. I got ticket for my white 64GB.

I walked out with a white 64GB WiFi, HDMI cable, and camera connection cable. I wanted a black leather Smart Cover but all they had was the poly covers.

Ran into a bit of a problem canceling my online order. I had to call Apple to get the iPad cancelation to go through. I wasn't able to cancel the HDMI or camera connector I ordered online because they were already being processed. I guess I'll be able to send them back once they get here.

My Best Buy didn't give out tickets like you would imagine. They let sets of 10-20 walk in. Once you went in, you went to the apple section, told them what you wanted, and they gave you a sheet of paper that had the selection on it with a number. It worked well enough, but I would have preferred them letting us have a ticket and come back. It was pretty insane and slow.

They carried only the black leather smart cover, but had all the poly ones. I got a black leather. It's heavier then I imagined but I guess that figures being that there are powerful magnets in it.

PostIng this from my iPad and happy as can be right now. Btw, garage band is the single most impressive app I've seen to date. I'm in love.

This was my issue with Best Buy. I couldn't believe their stupid system. It was making me nervous that I wasn't going to get the one that I wanted. I got to Best Buy at 2:45 and was 11th in line. By the time 4:20 came around there was easily 75+ people. Many of them left angry. In the end I was lucky to walk out with my 64 GB wifi + AT&T 3G.

Finally back home with my new white 64gb 3G ATT iPad2. The line ended up pretty long, but I was about #6 in line so i got the one I wanted.

By 5pm, they were turning people away to come back and do the $100 pre-order. I did find out that they only had 5 total of the Verizon iPads, which seems pretty low.

Yeah, don't trust Best Buy's online inventory. At BEST, it's delayed. Just looked at is said one of my local BBY's (Deptford, NJ) had a 64GB white WiFi in. I called to check. Deptford was too busy, so the phone system transferred me over to Cherry Hill. She said they were showing no iPads in stock (either location) and that the online site is usually 2 hours behind for inventory. Oh well.

She also said it will probably be 2 weeks before they get any more. Something about "waiting for approval from Apple to get more... Apple will be getting more first".

My local Best Buy only had 5 iPad TOTAL. All 5 were the White iPad Wi-Fi 16gb. There was more than 50 people lining up and apparently the top 5 bought them

I was out by 5:45. I was the last one to get a ticket, and I got the 3G white 64gb verizon. I wanted AT&T, but oh well. I would have been out quicker if some of the customers didn't go through the store credit card application process.

Went to go buy an iPad 2 at MacPac a few hours ago. One of the first people in line with a ticket since I showed up an hour early. I noticed that they only had WiFi versions and no Verizon. SO FURIOUS!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Here are some pics:

The best buy in went to in east Hanover, new jersey sold out pretty fast. I got the about 4:10 and there were already about 100 people there. We waited online outside until about 4:35 when they started handing out the reserve sheets to people after they asked us what we wanted. by the time they to me there were probable 40 or so more people behind me. I got inside around 5:00 and they were sold out probably about 10 minutes later so lots of people got turned away. The line waiting inside to pay took like another hour unfortunately.

I'm really surprised how many people showed up there and how fast they sold out. I didn't think it would be like that at all. Apple's gonna sell a ton of these things apparently. Lots of people I was talking to on the line were buying their first iPad and they werent even tech enthusiasts. They were just people who decided they want a tablet now so this really bodes well for iPad 2 sales. And even more surprising was that I saw like 8 people buying apple tvs to go along with them for AirPlay! I was shocked that people even know about being able to do that.
