Best buy in aurora Colorado only had 5 32gb and 5 16gb white iPad 2. No 3G at all.. I'm happy I got my white iPad. Showed up at 4 and was 9th in line!

#6 in line at Greenbrier Store in Chesapeake, VA. Got there at 3:00. When checking out at 5:15, there must have been 100+ people in line. Got the 64GB ATT Black
Oh hey, I was in that line too! :) Got there at 4:00PM and was probably #50 or so.

Very happy to have gotten the iPad I was after (black 64GB ATT), but the whole "10 at a time" check-out process took FOREVER. Seriously, after they pulled you guys (the first 10) up front, it was like 20+ minutes before they came back for the next group of 10.

I must say how impressed I was with the BB I bought my iPad2 from. The management and employees were AWESOME! They made us feel so welcome and gave us inventory updates on what they had in stock. They had 45 total units (30 wifi and 15 3G). Plus they told us the smart cover colors and countess well. Everything ran like clock work and being #3 in line I was out in a few minutes after 5pm!
This store has earned a customer for life! I am going back tomorrow to buy the wife an iPhone4!!

Must say I love this iPad2!!! I am posting from it now and the apps are amazing!I got the black 64gb wifi with black leather smart cover, HP printer and 1 yr warranty!
What a great experience today and meet some nice people in line!

Same here. I'm taking mine back tomorrow. I know I will regret it in the long run if I hold on to it past the return window.

...I know... The only problem is that we will have NO iPad for a long time, unless they'll get another shipment overnight...unbelievable I wanted to begin downloading apps. , I'm about to cry I had to drive 35 minutes to get it:apple:

Sounds like my experience. It was much better than I expected.

Can anyone explain the best buy reserving process? Can I go tomorrow and reserve one for $100 and pick it up later this week?

Will be covered under warranty so there shouldn't be any rush in case they can't exchange it in store.

Best Buy Hamilton, OH

This store sucks, I got there at 230, 15th in line. The line grew to 50+ at 4:30 they passed out 10 tickets. Why couldnt they told us in the beginning we could have went to another store but no they kept us waiting. I will NEVER step foot in another best buy.

I managed to pick up my iPad - 64GB 3G (AT&T) at the Best Buy in Long Island City in Queens, NY. The experience was mostly positive.

Since I was working until 4:30, I was trying to figure out where to try to pick one up since I would be getting out so close to the release time. Since I live in NY there were a ton of options. I initially tried to see if the AT&T store would have them, but the closest one (literally 2 blocks from my job) for some reason didn't get any. An AT&T store in Queens and Great Neck were suppose to get them, so I considered that.

There is a best buy in Brooklyn (where I work), but my experiences at retail stores in Brooklyn are always bad. There are 3 best buys in Queens: LIC, Flushing, and Rego Park. The one in Rego Park is by Queens Center Mall, so I figured that would be packed. The one in Flushing is fairly new, so I didn't know what to expect, so I decided on the LIC. Plus they said they were giving out tickets, so I figured I would know right away if I could get one or not.

I considered the Apple Stores in the City, but when they couldn't confirm quantities and I heard one girl sold her place in line for $900, I figured that would be a nightmare trying to get one at 5:30 - 6 pm.

When I got to the LIC store, the line was about a block long and when around the corner. I got there about 4:50. There must have been a good 150-200 people there when I arrived. They reps. came around giving out tickets, it appeared that most people didn't want the 3G models, so after that particular rep ran out of wifi tickets, she skipped a lot of people and I managed to get a ticket for the 3G model 64gb in black. They did have more tickets and everyone in front of me got one eventually and about 50 more people behind me.

The line moved slowly, they were doing about 10 customers every 10-15 minutes. When I finally got inside at 7:50 (to wait on another line), a rep finally announced that while everyone who had a ticket would have a chance to buy an iPad, they MIGHT NOT RECEIVE THE one on the ticket. People at this point became noticeably agitated. Everyone stayed on line though, and when I finally came up to the counter, they did have the model I wanted, and I didn't notice anyone flipping out, so I assume they still were giving out first or 2nd choice models.

Other than the slip up at the end with the availability of certain models, a pretty good experience for someone who showed up at 4:50 for a 5:00 launch event. A total wait of 3.5 hours, but as long as I walked out with an iPad and the model I wanted, I can't complain. I was very surprised that they had such a high quantity.

Hey, I got the same one at that Best Buy yesterday, too. I drove by at 2:30 and decided that the 8-10 people on line was short enough. I still did not get out of there until 6:15. A little disorganized in the beginning. Always buy at Best Buy. The insurance is great since you can drop it or spill something on it and bring it back. They don't repair, they replace. I had it on my old iPad, got it replaced with a 64 GB 3G. It was a wifi. Drop in price, they let me upgrade. My wife has that one now.

I am on my way to bb to return mine because of the backlight bleeding....i cant believe this!

Why not wait until they get some new units in that may have the issue fixed? You could get it exchanged through the Apple store in say a month or two.

I went to the Deptford, NJ location this morning to reserve one. Turned out they actually had a bunch of whites, still. 16GB WiFi, 32GB & 64GB 3G Verizon. Just one AT&T 64GB. I want a 64GB white WiFi, so I reserved one. I was the first to reserve at that store.

So how does that work then? Did they say when they'd be receiving more? And does anyone know if we can reserve them online?

I think there will always be a little bleed of light, anyway
Went to BB Sat, today, they only have verizons, uh, no thx.
Had many covers, some opened and returned already and marked down.
Also drove by the just opened SXSW POPUP Apple store in downtown Austin, was a line of 100 before 10am. It's in the old Scarbrough bldg on 6th and Congress,

Cool, glad you got the one you were after.

From the sounds of it, the Independence store was more efficient. My wife works in Town Center, and got to that location around 5:00. She was out of their at 6:30 with her 64GB ATT in White.

How were the accesory supplies by the time you got to check out?

what does the reserve mean in terms of actually obtaining one via BB?

I popped into my local Best Buy this morning around 10:30 and they had one 64GB White Verizon left. But, they let me reserve a 32GB Black Wifi only. Glad they are taking reservations as it saves a lot of headache.

I know that its aggravating, but I would wait the two weeks to see if more stock comes in. At least you'll be able to use the current one. You could also go to the apple genius bar: I bet that they have replacement stock. Anyway, I'd suggest taking some deep breaths, wait, and return it by the 14th day.
