Just got back from the Silverdale WA BB with their latest info. No ipads in yet and Apple told them it will be 4-5 weeks before they get any in. They were also told to stop taking reservations as of yesterday. Am hoping maybe they will get some in before then. I am #3 on the list for the model I want so still hoping.......
Just picked up my 64 3g black IPAD @ BB
so lucky! I been waiting of 5 days now. No call. I want the exact one as you. haha. And I am wondering will I ever get one. I seems as if my best buy store hasn't got any shipments since launch day friday. Further, when I asked if I would get it later than Apple Online 4-5 weeks. She says no one knows its up to apple; and she reiterated how they are an authorized apple reseller. Not to convincing. I can't wait to get the call...
I pre-ordered a white 32 wi-fi on Saturday 3/12 at the BB store on Geary in San Francisco. I should be first on their list because they didn't even know they were taking pre-orders. Still haven't received a call from them. I also ordered one from apple.com that's set to be shipped on April 1. I'm starting to think the apple.com iPad will get here before the Best Buy one does.
The BB where I got mine on launch day couldn't even maintain a line of 15 people! They put out 10 chairs in a circle and told people to sit down. When more people came in, they told them there is no line, just wait over by the chairs. At 4:30, they came out and said they only had 10 units total. Everyone in a chair gets one, everyone else is out of luck. Then the questions started about what was the order of people in chairs! They didn't even make a straight line so nobody knew who was first, and it wasn't like people came in and took the next empty chair. I consider myself extremely lucky to have gotten one out of that mess. Very poor organization for something they had at least 2 weeks knowledge of.
Looks like I'm SOL, judging by the posts. I have a voucher for a 16gb white. I was the 10th person in line, my BB never got their initial shipment. But they handed out vouchers anyways, (they said they knew how many units they were getting) I talked to them on Monday and only a very few 64gb had come in, they hoped the others would be close behind. Ill stop by again after work and see what they say. I might order from apple.com and just wait for that one. Not to sure about the white anyways.
I got mine first day at Best Buy by showing up around 3:00 PM, seeing a small line of about 4 guys at the back of the store, walking around till 4, then getting in line when there were about 9 people. Was able to receive a 16 GB white iPad 2 voucher, and saw the cutoff around 15 iPads.
No call yet... one of the first to be on the list at the Manassas, VA BB last Saturday morning... White, 32GB, 3G AT&T. Checked in the store on Wednesday and they advised they have not got a 2nd shipment in yet... Not holding my breath.
Lucky! That's the one I'm waiting for as well. What store did you order it from? I hope this is a good sign for the rest of us.
Maybe this is a Friday Best Buy rush of deliveries, one week after the initial launch. That would be good news. Are you on the East Coast? Did they call you when they opened?
I'm in the same boat....pre-ordered last Saturday (10:30A) at Arden Fair Mall BB (Sacramento)...black 64gb Wifi....ugh!
I am pretty sure it's time for someone to ask if the $100 reservation is refundable.

It is refundable, I think this was mentioned several times before already...
So...received an update from the San Francisco store on Geary. They have also not received any since the launch and they are claiming the same for all stores on the west coast since they all go to the same distribution center. They were supposed to receive a shipment yesterday, but they didn't and nothing today either. They are expecting to receive a "large" shipment rather than one or two here and there. And on launch date they received 120 of the 200 that they ordered. I think my apple.com order ship date of April 1 is going to beat Best Buy.
I'm in Asheville, NC. They called like hour and a half after they opened.
I just picked it up and they said they received 10 units. 5 were White Wifi 32GB. (One week ago at launch they received 95 units.)Of the 18 possible different ones I could have wanted, seems lucky that the one i wanted made it to me so quick!
Are you sure? I am pretty sure that the question has been asked so many times that there must not be a 100% unanimous answer to this question.
It is completely 100% totally refundable. I reserved, put $100 down, got my iPad at Apple, went back, and got my money back.
This is so good to hear, but until we get a definitive answer, I am still skeptical.
And in case you can't tell, I am just screwing around. I was screwing around when I mentioned that it was time for someone to ask the question again.
