I called this Best Buy at 12:00. The person I spoke with said there is nobody in line yet, that they expect their shipment any minute, and that tickets will be handed out at 4:30. I plan on heading over at 4:00, get my ticket at 4:30, pick up groceries at Trader Joes, and go back to grab my ipad.

Best Buy Handing Out iPad 2 'Tickets' at 4:30 PM Tomorrow + Reserve for March 12th

I am from Brazil and I will be in Atlanta on the 17th and stay until the 22nd. Do you think I will have problems in getting one iPad 2? This is kind of my only chance.... the first iPad arrived in Brazil 8 months after US launch.

I am in 23rd now. 5th in line, due to their mistake. They started the line, did not say that it's up, and told me to wait outside, while line started inside.
In last 10 minutes, about 5 more people came in.
The site's Apple guy apologized, and told me that I would "still be able to get whatever model you want"
You know if they are giving out tickets or anything? Or any idea what their inventory looks like?
Unknown for both questions. They are not sure about tickets, and did not say anything about how much they have in stock. Their Apple guy knows how many they have but refuses to say anything. He said that everything's already in store, but nobody is allowed to touch the shipment.
They are going to have accessories as well. I know someone said that Best Buy will only carry iPad, not accessories. Maybe each store is different, but this one has them in stock.

Just got off phone w local BB. Guy said he "can't" Comment on inventory. Said there is no line as of now, but they will be handing out tickets shortly after a line forms. He said he's gotten 20-30 calls concerning iPad 2 and expects a decent line to form round 3-4. He suggested getting there at 3.
Sounds like lines are forming inside the stores? Is that correct?

Check with few people in store. I was told by security guys that line will be outside. Then store employees said it actually formed inside. By now, people would be getting in here, so just look for bunch of people, that's the line.
i just called my BB and they are starting at 4:30 outside the door handing them out.

I am at the Canton, GA best buy and am #3 in line. I got here at 2:15 and #4 just showed up at 2:45.

I called the three Target locations near me and they have small amounts, ranging from 1-6 TOTAL. But they each said they're expecting more shipments today. Cutting it kinda close aren't they?

I have to pick up my daughter for a Skating party. So I'm bolting from work at 3:00 get my ticket at BB by 4:30 pick her up and on the way to the party, stop by and grab my iPad. Give me something to do at the crap hole of a Skating Rink her school has a monthly party at.
Will you be able to activate the iPad at Best Buy? I know at the Apple store you would be able to but I just assumed at Best Buy you'd have to take it home to activate.
iPad sales are a tiny fraction of Target's total sales. They carry them to attract shoppers they may not normally see (young men), but they really don't care all that much.

Manager of BB said handing out tickets at 4:30 and I did notice they added tape outside for line at 1pm. Went and got lunch and ate it while watching out front. Nobody in line yet. I am expecting a line to form after 3 or by 4pm. I asked about a white 64Gb wifi and he said he's has not received all the quantities yet and has seen no 64GBs yet ! Ack. There better be white 64GB!
