It was actually the Best Buy Mobile Manager that helped me, and she told me that we get an email when our physical phone is confirmed to be in the building, and nobody can take it away from us so long as we pick it up by close of business Sunday. Waiting on line in the morning will get you bragging rights; personally, I'm going after work.

Me too, got the email at 10:26am and ordered from the same store as you. Do you set up an appointment when you pre-ordered? I did, but at the time all the Friday appointments were gone so Saturday at 12:30pm was the earliest they had. I'm still going to try for pick up tomorrow and hopefully the wait won't be insane.

They told me thats a procedure they do with the emails, in other words email was worthless. They have to call you for an APPOINTMENT. Which these *&$##@$*# NEVER did after a whole week and a half ... 
Maybe your guy's stores are more organized than mine was last year ! Hopefully you guys don't have the same experience as I did with my 4S. Good luck.

Yes I did. I was the first one so naturally I picked the first appointment. I just hope they don't have massive lines and don't help those with appointments first.

I'm not sure what email you got but they have a reserved email and confirmed email. This year if you get the final comfirmed email, the phone is there as that email is generated by stock.

Perhaps they changed the procedure this year? Like, they emailed everybody last year, and are only emailing confirmed inventory this year?
This email says absolutely nothing about appointments. It says "will be ready for pickup at the HOLMDEL, NJ Best Buy store #400 on Friday September 21, 2012. Please pick it up between Friday and Sunday, September 23, 2012 to avoid order cancellation". Which is the same thing the manager told me when I preordered.

Yeah, thats what my email said. And the manager was the one told me about appointments when I walk to the store SMH ... Maybe it was just my store you know. Manager was clueless, he didn't know what was going on !
They set up our appointments when they took the preorder. It depends on your store.
Yeah, thats what I'm also thinking. Maybe they have better procedures this year. My email didn't say anything about appointment either. My store manager pulled this out of his ass and said that to me when I walk up to the store.

I got both of my emails also but no confirmation on the white Iphone 16 i ordered. Im just hoping they havent gotten to that 100th box yet.
I just called my Best Buy store and they arent taking appointments. You just walk in there and pick up your phone by Sunday. I might wait until after lunch to pick mine up.

Thank goodness. I pre ordered at one of the 10 stores that underwent their bestbuy 2.0 remodel so I'm holding out hope that those stores will get the most stock.
Just curious why some have received emails for pick up but no phone calls, such as myself. And then others have received phone calls but no emails. And maybe some have received both email and phone call.

Different people. Considering my phone call came 6 hours after my email, I wouldn't put too much stock into having one but not the other. But, the email's the more important, as that's your proof that they have a phone for you.
Thanks. I got my email at 10:30am this morning. So I'll assume that they'll be calling me sometime this afternoon of this evening. If not, I'll still show up tomorrow morning with my email in hand.
