So... To get my numbers straight:

I see 8GB 512SSD for $1143 on the best buy website.
Can I apply an additionl edu coupon to this sale price? Are there any other coupons that will lead to more savings? Thanks.

search eBay for "best buy 10% online coupon"

They usually cost 20$, but will give you 10% off. Apply at checkout.

Buy a Best Buy 10% Movers Coupon from ebay and apply it. Here's one: Ebay Link
(no affiliation, just the first one I found in a quick search for an example, there may be lower-price versions as well)

Just picked up a SG 256 gb open box from Best Buy. It was the last one in the area. Open box plus movers coupon came to 500 dollars savings. The computer appears flawless and only has 12 cycles on it. Not bad at all.

interestingly, i tried to buy a new one online the other day for my wife, and none were available, and none at stores within 250 miles. then went on live chat and told the only one 'in the entire country was a gold base open box geek cert unit. i said fkit and ordered a refurb from appl. if bb gets them back and at 999 and i have a coupon in the 14 day window, i'll return appls and get bb. but i still cant figure out why bb online and in store had none to order, very weird.

just checked again today. bb wont ship open box, no new one avail for ship, one open box cert is avail for pickup but still too far. whiskey tango foxtrot!!!!!!

They go on a substantial sale and end up stocking-out on some versions all while there are rumors of an updated version arriving soon, and even a reference to an updated model appears in a bit of Apple software.
Whatever might be going on?:)

I suspect Bestbuy is selling down a slow mover.

Would not be surprised if they stop carrying it.

I'm taking mine back today. Picked it up Saturday, but just cannot get used to the small size. I had a lot of reservations going in, and, in all honesty, it just didn't make the cut. The screen is beautiful, and the keyboard is manageable, but overall, it's just too small... so I'm restoring it now and when that's done, it's going back to BestBuy. If Apple produces a 15" version, it will be a solid deal for me... but until then...

I picked one up at BB on Saturday it was $1,299 and I'm a little at odds with it. I'm not sure if its CPU is going to be good enough for me, sometimes I need to be able to run AutoCAD. Installing MS Windows 10 90 day trial and a trial version of AutoCAD and see how it goes. The wife would like to have my 2013 Air which has a i7. The Macbook is awesome but the CPU I'm not sure about.

Yep, same here. Applied it to an online order for in-store pickup. They never asked to see it or anything.

How did you guys apply the Movers Coupon when it say no Computers or tables? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/clp/mov...pID=0&ref=8575135&loc=0&id=pcmcat748300546308
There are some on eBAY that specifically say they work with macs.....those are the ones you want. I believe they all expire on the 31st. I ordered mine from this guy and it worked without issue. Also, I had it delivered to my email within 5 minutes of payment. Not sure if links are allowed, if not PM me if it gets removed.

$300 off the rMacBook is back. Ugh. Can't decide if I should sell my MBP(2015) and go for an BB open-box. I really don't need the power of the Pro. And I could sell the Pro, buy the rMB and make some cash.

Random Internet Strangers can't really decide that one for you... :D You could always buy the rMB openbox and give it a try, returning it if its unsuitable.

With an online chat followed by phone conversation I got my openbox unit set up with full year Applecare warranty from day of purchase. While I didn't "advertise" that I'd bought an openbox, but every statement I made was fully truthful and I emailed a PDF of my receipt.

Good thinking. Might do that.
Question: open box means the one year limited warranty is already running?

Picked up a gold 512GB/1.2GHz MacBook last Saturday, open box for $1078 plus tax. I didn't think I wanted one, but after Best Buy dropped the sale recently, I thought I'd give it a shot. I don't usually like buying open box/used, but all new stock was sold out at two Best Buy stores I visited. There were 6 battery cycles when I powered it on, and warranty expires January 23 next year. I was also able to register it to my Apple support profile (one of my biggest pet peeves about used Apple products...)

It has been almost a week already, and it has become an appendage to my daily routine. I've been bringing it to work every day, and it is such a light package. I think it's a keeper, but in case I wanted to return, is the return policy for open box/Geek Squad the same for new items at Best Buy?

For any UK / Ireland based peeps, just thought I'd mention that I bought an open box rMB from a 3rd party seller on Amazon called iclearancestore. They are an official apple reseller and it had a full years warranty. (Brand new basically). It cost me gbp 759, around €950 at the moment.

Anyway, I see they have another one at the moment if you look at the New & Used section at this link.

Yes, generally it would mean the clock started ticking already. In some instances it can be reset; when I tried checking my coverage Apple's system spat it back so I called in. If it hadn't spat it back and listed a date then you might have a tougher time getting the date reset. Bit of a gamble, but easy enough to check within the return period if you're not happy.

My open box had 3 battery cycles on it and looked brand new, booted up to the El Cap setup. Even if i'd lost a month or so of warranty it'd have been well worth saving $500+ (1.2/512 model)
