Also, some stores are not "receiving" their shipments into the stock system until it's closer to when they open to avoid this issue. So you may get lucky if your local store has shown no availability.

Bingo! These are already aside for Web Orders. There is additional stock for walk-ins.
 
Quick question, would I be able to buy the phone at the full retail price right now for pickup at BB, and when going there get it adjusted for the AT&T early upgrade price (as this is not allowed online). thanks.

Are you in California? It is California law to charge sales tax on the full-price model if you're using an upgrade.

Is there any downside or problems to doing this, and with the same item, return and repurchase at the early upgrade price? I can't imagine so...but just not sure.
 
Would I be able to price match the iPhone 5S by calling Best Buy today and having them credit the difference of $50 since they charge $50 more than apple.com and at&t.com for the full contract price? Would they be able to do this after picking it up.

It should not be an issue in your case because there was no contract tied to the phone. However, if it was reversed, you could have an issue. Once the IMEI is activated under contract, the phone can not be immediately resold upon return.

There is no restocking fee. However, if you want to be absolutely 100% safe, leave it sealed until you go back. You don't have to wait till the next day, I'm just preparing everyone that the system will be slower than normal.

Just ordered From a local bestbuy (the only one showing in stock) - will be returning following day to adjust the price. Got the space gray and now I can sleep again lol

Seems like Silver and Gold are like light years away, not a single store showing available in stock - I'm sure some stores will have a model or two tho for walk-in

Can anyone tell me how long Bestbuy takes to send the confirmation email?

I hope everyone at best buy does what they were instructed to do as well. If not, you will be correct. :(

Let's just hope they don't come scratched from the factory. Had to send two back last time.
 
I just got this email ...

Your order contains at least one pre-ordered item which will be available at the store on or after the release date. We will send another e-mail notifying you when your order is ready for pickup.
 
hahah keep hope alive, i got a email saying it will be 45 mins for the pickup email but im sure that will be in the morningtime

i think they will pull thru, if not first day, then at least im in the queue for the next batch
 
Not trying to be negative, but last year some stores didn't get their second batch for 3-4 weeks! Some took 6 weeks to get 64gb models. Your best chance of getting one at Best Buy will be today!

yep, after seeing the email they just sent it is deff not looking good for me. oh well.

Yes it is weird they stopped taking orders. I managed to get one right before they stopped, and I also have one from Apple on order. I would like to cancel the Apple one if I can get a more solid confirmation from Best Buy.
 
Ordered one from Verizon earlier, and then cancelled that due to the ability to order from Best Buy on release date. I am going to be extremely disappointed if Best Buy does not come through. We are not able to cancel orders in the Processing Order state.

My order status says "confirming inventory at (store address)"

....I'm starting to think I should have just gone to apple store...
