When you are on the page of the phone you want, there is a link on the right side that says "check upgrade eligibility". After that you put in your info and that's it...worked easy for me.

Ordered space gray 64 for pick up in West LA (the one on Pico) on Friday. Is this legit? Can it be?

After I placed the BB order I Went to Apple store app and used same phone info and it still shows discounted price of $399. Looks like the order with Best Buy, whether legit or not, did not effect my eligibility for reduced price through Apple.

For those who made the order did you receive. Confirmation email? Text? Nothing?

What time are Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores opening for iPhone launch?

8 a.m. local time on Friday, Sept. 20. Stores will open for all other non-iPhone sales at the normal store opening time. Best Buy Mobile specialty stores not located in malls will open at 8 a.m. local time on Friday, Sept. 20. Many Best Buy Mobile locations in malls will open early at 8 a.m., however some will open at standard mall opening time. Customers can visit bestbuymobile.com to look up local stores and call to confirm the opening time on Friday.

How will lines at Best Buy stores be handled?

A ticketing process will be in place for all available product, including iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c and iPhone 4s 8GB inventory. Sales will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Customer pre-orders for the iPhone 5c and iPhone 4s 8GB and BestBuy.com in-store pick-up orders will be fulfilled first.

How does pre-order fulfillment work?

Pre-orders were available for the iPhone 5c and iPhone 4s 8GB in stores from Sept. 13 to 19 and required the purchase of a $50 Best Buy gift card. A pre-order guarantees a phone for a customer in the order the pre-order was placed, but does not guarantee availability on launch day. Customers will receive an email when their phone is ready for pick-up in stores, starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20. On launch day, customer pre-orders for the iPhone 5c and iPhone 4s will be fulfilled first. A customer who chooses to cancel their pre-order will be refunded the $50 cost of the Best Buy gift card.

When can customers expect to receive a pre-ordered iPhone?

Pre-orders for the iPhone 5c and iPhone 4s will be fulfilled as inventory arrives in stores. Customers will receive an email when their phone is ready for pick-up in stores, starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20.

You can arrive, but until the item is scanned and you have your unique pickup number, it's a waiting game.

I suspect, we will be receiving our emails between 7:00 - 9:00 AM
 
I'm just worried Best Buy messes up my order! I'm not waiting in line now because of my "preorder" but I know they've jacked things up in the past!

I think all these weborders will be processed prior to open, which here is 10am.

However, they always say wait until the e-mail comes because if you go, it basically means they didn't take your item and "assign" it to you. They also won't just take a item off the shelf for you at that time, it's all done via their internal inventory system.

Shrug, I think this is a 50/50 chance that it'll work out. If not, I plan to walk to the ATT store near me and buy it there and cancel the preorder I have with bestbuy.

If bestbuy pulls this off without a hitch and not bait/switching us by telling us they have it in stock and not having it, I'll be disappointed in Apple for not being able to do the same thing..
 
I will also tell you that I know for a fact that the system has held back stock.

There will be more in-store product for those that want to be there in the morning. The system was populated Wednesday to reflect proper inventory.

Can't tell you how I know this, but hey, I got you in the door. :)

I am VERY happy to see that the store I ordered my 16GB 5S from now says "unavailable" when trying to place a new fake order.

To me that means that their inventory system is updating and shut off orders after stores are out of stock.

Would have been really worried if I still saw that store as available, thinking they might be taking a ****load of orders and I would get screwed.
 
So I was using the bestbuy.com mobile site on my iphone, switched to desktop mode, got a 16gb spaceman at my local store. We'll see how this goes, good luck to everyone!
 
I used my upgrade for in-store pickup on this,
and was charged. Does anyone know if I can go in there with my current iPhone 5 and get the trade in towards this upgrade? maybe they'll refund me the difference? or I can cancel the order when I'm there, do the trade in and do the process again?

Just checked mine, and for all models it shows unavailable. Very good sign indeed ! :D
 
Almost there..."Confirming Store Inventory"...I hope Best Buy will come through.

Worried I didn't complete the transaction. Did people who placed an order through BB and receive a confirmation email enter credit card info as well and phone number, SS and ZIP?

Of course the entire page that comes from suggests that the 5s is only in store so we'll see...

No confirmation email from a 11:59 PDT order yet either.

Seeing the same $90.16 in tax with my order. Been racking my brain trying to figure out what they are basing the tax on and why it is so high. They would have to be charging Tax on $1001.80 with the CA 9% tax rate. Even going through the Apple store they are only charging $76.41 in tax and AT&T didn't appear to be charging any went I checked the phone there.

Only email most are getting is:

As long as they don't botch this up (like they've done in the past), I'll be a happy camper. I hate that they put a hold on your card without even verifying the stock on hand (and I don't rely on their website just saying its in stock).. hopefully most will know in the next few hours. I still have about 5 hours before its 8AM here, and I'll already be standing in line at Verizon (since I paid retail, I'll save 50.00 if I'm able to get it there, versus Best Buy and their 50.00 markup, which I'll nix anyhow with RewardZone certs).

I'm wondering the same thing, I doubt it.. but it might be good.
