Respectfully, to whom it may concern,
I am writing to inform you of my shopping experience in your Manassas, Virginia mall Best Buy Mobile store on Friday, September 20, 2013.
In the early morning hours of Friday, September 20, 2013, at 3 AM, I pre-ordered the iPhone 5s 16 GB in space gray color with AT&T under the bestbuy.com website to be picked up at the Manassas Mall store #2988 in Virginia on that same day.
I received the email I have attached in this message dated on Friday, September 20, 2013, at 9:18 AM, indicating my item was ready for pick-up.
Upon my arrival to this store around 7 PM on Friday, September 20, 2013, I was informed by the staff that my pre-ordered item had been sold to another party and there was no other stock remaining.
I was not alone
There were several other angry customers in this store with me who also provided email receipts and evidence of their pre-ordered iPhones that were instead sold to other walk-in customers.
I have attached a photo of the business cards from the Manassas, VA store we dealt with.
To her credit, Sales Lead Yami instructed her staff of two to contact other locations with available stock. She found the Fair Oaks mall in Virginia with only 3 iPhone 16 GB space grey units available, but offered only a screen protecter for an iPhone the store could not provide even though I had paid for it. I refused the screen protector
Somehow, the principle of my business transaction with Best Buy had been lost. I paid for an iPhone, not a screen protecter.
My wife and I had even spoken with and pleaded to a manager named Allen of the Fair Oaks Mall store (while contacted at his home by the Manassas, VA Sales Lead Yami) who refused to reserve an iPhone for us from his store, stating it was "first come, first serve" and that he did not respect the business practices of General Manager Rodrigo Sahonero of the Manassas Mall #2988 location.
Somehow, my wife and I had become PAYING customer victims of personal business managerial attacks against one another.
Upon arrival at the Fair Oaks Best Buy Mobile store, the remaining 3 stock of iPhones had run out.
The staff at the Fair Oaks location was much more helpful, but acknowledged and apologized for the mistake
After two hours, it was the first time we heard the words, "I'm sorry." I give that staff a ton of credit for apologizing for another local store's blatant screw-up, but they couldn't help me.
I have cancelled this order, under the advice of one of your managers, who agreed with me that this never should've occurred.
In summary, the employees of Best Buy advertised a product, in this case an iPhone 5s, 16 GB Space Gray AT&T model, available for pre-order, charged my credit card for the full amount of $211.19, sent an email to me promising me that my items would be held until SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2013, and then pulled a scam and gave me nothing in return.
This is beyond unacceptable
This borderlines on fraud.
I am a reasonable individual. I just want this situation made right.
