Best Buy pick-up appointments

i just got off the phone with them. they told me they'd be calling either later today or tomorrow. i'm number 2 and 3 on the list over there so they better call me before they call numbers 4 and up. i'm planning on schedulilng my apt as soon as they open. if they don't call me or they dont schedule an apt i have reserves at my local apple store so i'll just head on over there. i'm getting excited. only 3 more days!
I JUST got off the phone with my Best Buy, he was EXTREMELY helpful. I am 15th in line, 8th for the Black 32GB. He said he would call me as soon as they got the shipment in and schedule an appointment. Said they may open at either 6 or 7. I feel even better now that I know I am 8th for the 32GB.

just spoke with a BB mobile employee and set up an appointment at 10,30am on Thursday... I was #1 on the pre-order list for a black phone... was told the total quantity they got at the store was very limited, but not specific on how many. He tried to sell me invisible shield for $28 by putting it on the phone before I come and pick it up. Said no thanks, I would like to open the box myself. Also tried to sell me the protection plan for $14.99 per month... oh, well, I will be happy just to get my phone in hand on the launch day.

I just got off the phone with the Mobile guy at my Best Buy. They received their phones in today, and I set up my appointment for 10am. I was also told that their particular store was receiving more iPhones than pre-orders; however, there were only 9. I live in a rather small town.
No word on what all they are getting accessory wise or exactly how many phones they have coming. I decided after I saw how much my boyfriend could get for his phone that I'd like to pick up one for him. But that was after pre-orders had stopped. So I'm hopping there won't be a huge line preventing me from getting one with my appointment. And I think I'll still be traveling to my Apple store in search of a pink bumper on release day. Hopefully since I don't want a phone that I can get in and out moderately quickly.

Only 5 received today at my local BB. The top 5 on the list will get calls today and receive their phones on the 24th.

Just called my BB and they didn't get their shipment in this morning, but she felt sure the preorderers would get theirs.
Just called and was told that first calls will go out today to find out what accessories/insurance I wanted. Then a second call would come either later today or tomorrow to make an appointment. Since I work 4pm-Midnight shift, I asked if the appointment was flexible or if they assigned a "hard" time.
She said they would try and accommodate people as best as possible,keeping in mind demand is sky-high.
My store is a very high traffic store, so keep that in mind as it seems each store has a different strategy.

I really wish they'd get the OK to sell them early. Especially if mail pre-orders are arriving on the 23rd.
Either way, it was fun to at least hold my 32GB iPhone 4 box for a bit... even though I was tempted to run out of the store with it

My pre-order at Best Buy is definitely Plan B.

Someone is going to get lucky at my local BB store...I am 3 on the list to get a 32GB Black, but in the interim, my Apple.com order went through and is almost here.
When I get the call, I will tell them to just cross me off the list. I'll keep the gift card for a future purchase.

Check the other threads or the FAQ on their site. They've already confirmed that they'll have no white phones due to manufacturing issues.
To further the info here, I have been PM'ing with one of the mods on the BB board. I am 14th in line for a Black 32gb iPhone and asked if any of the stores who had received inventory so far had received more than 14. He said:

They already have the Zagg Shields? Hmmmmm...I'm still debating about putting one on mine.
I went in to talk to someone this morning. She said their "AT&T rep." would be in this afternoon & start making appointment calls then. She called her while I was there & got some info for me. I should be able to set an appt. for as early as 8:00.
Also, she said they'll have 5 phones. I have reservations for numbers 1 & 2, so I'm good, but if that number is accurate, I have a feeling there will be a lot of upset people come Thursday (or this afternoon if they're called & told).

At about noon today I got a call from Best Buy saying they had good news for me, and they will have a phone with my name on it for Thursday. When I pre-ordered last Tuesday I was #1 and wanted a 32 GB Black phone. At the time she told me they were expecting 40 total phones, 10 of each in black and white. Today when she called, after she told me I could come in at anytime on Thursday to pick mine up, I asked her how many they got in. She said they are getting (or got already) only 5 total - 2- 32GB, and 3- 16 GB Black. So I'm glad I went in early last Tuesday!!
