Lol yeah iPhone launches are the damn devil lmao. Like literally it's a mess. I already know I'm get yelled at b/c there's no jet black iPhones, as if I'm personally responsible for Apple's inventory and can just FaceTime Timmy Cook to get more phones.

I'm gonna also get crap b/c my JB 7+ is gonna be delivered by the 23rd. Preordered mine through Verizon (couldn't do it through BBY b/c employees apparently aren't allowed to) But yeah I'm gonna get a lot of "WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERES NO JET BLACK IPHONES UNTIL NOVEMBER?!?! HOW DID YOU GET YOURS SO EARLY!!!?!??!!" Same ish happened in 2013 when I got the gold 5S (via Verizon) before anybody else

Yep. Then I'll be like "well sir/ma'am...per Apple's site...they did warn about potential scratches" the customer won't have a response and I'll just be looking at them like
[doublepost=1473579855][/doublepost]

The iPhone 6 launch, they literally had me working the closing shift with a new higher. So basically I ran the show, by myself lol. For the Note 7 had two people who didn't show up. I ended worked damn near a 12hr shift b/c I couldn't leave bbym (the other two people there were still kinda new)

I'm basically the sales lead for my dept and I'm expected to just handle every issue. But I will say this, with me...no matter how crazy things get (even if I'm by myself) I never do two things 1) get a manager involved in anything or 2)ask for help from another associate in another dept. I feel like if you're not in bbym and don't know how to do bbym things...yeah don't come to my dept Lol. And I don't like getting managers involved (unless it's for like a manager override on a price match or something) b/c getting them involved always makes the situation worse. So I just handle every issue and just deal with it

Yep I agree 100 percent. Im connected home so im a Hybrid with Computers and Mobile. Our manager tells us to handle most things ourselves. (Were a big store with high volume). Im opening the store get 2 hours off and then come back to close the store. Good thing is I get the Weekend off =)

There is a few of us that are getting our phones Friday,Our GM told us to keep them in our pockets as people are going to start saying we bought the phones before the customers can..... I wish we started our Seasonal Hiring already for the extra help LMAO.

LOL yes, keep the phones in your pockets. I remember in 2013 when the gold 5S was more rare than Big Foot, this one lady got mad b/c I had my 5S early. Ordered mine via Verizon and got it on time (as opposed to it bent back ordered like most people's orders were) But yeah the lady was mad. Me being the lovable jerk that I am...thought it was funny lol. She was like "Well I don't understand how you got your phone early and I don't have mine"

No Kidding,Im dreading Friday lol Im working the apple watch launch and helping with mobile for the iPhones.

Horrible lol Like Jay said the Samsung's went good,Apples launches are always a Sh!tStorm. They always over promise on the phones. We had something like 262 pre orders with a delivery date of Friday. I guarantee you we wont get more than 50. So we get the fun time of getting yelled at and called names because peoples phones arent in on Friday.

We usually get mostly Sprint and Verizon,We always get shorted with ATT for some reason. The plus models are always short vs the regular 7 units. Gold and Silver seem to be the ones we get most of. You should be getting a call from someone from Mobile on Thursday or Friday morning to set up a time when to come in and pick up your phone and we will help you set up the device and transfer data and back ups. If you dont get a call by 8PM Thursday night,Try calling your store and have them check for you.
Another BBY Mobile employee. Check with your store, but from my understanding, all our iPhone stock received in store will be UCD.

Which will help IMMENSELY.

So from the previous comments, it sounds quite like in-store pickup could be a pretty bad experience, but delivery straight from the warehouse might be OK, especially if you didn't order jet black.

I ordered for delivery to my home address (matte black), and I'm ok with not getting the phone on launch day, since I signed a 2 year contract with VZ in exchange for a subsidized phone. (I have grandfathered unlimited data.). Going to use the phone on my ATT line, which is primary, so I don't lose VZ UDP.

Since there haven't been a lot of responses on this thread, I'm figuring most people ordered from Apple or their carrier, since people on this site are pretty focused on getting their iPhones on launch day. I think there's probably a lot of people who don't use this site and who ordered from BB. As for how many chose to pick up in store vs get delivery at home, I have no idea.

I guess people like to pick up in store so they can get the phone ASAP? I'd rather wait a few hours, not miss work, and get the phone delivered whenever it comes - the stores are always a nightmare when it comes to iPhone launches (I worked apple retail for a summer, way back when the iPhone 4 was launched---that was a looooong day.)

Mods can you make this sticky? It keeps getting burried, for those of us who ordered from Best Buy I'd like to follow this thread and get input from other who didn't order from Apple or a carrier.

I was just going to make a post to the same effect. It would be very helpful!

Assistant Store Manager at Best Buy (Big Box) we're basically sold out of all 7 Plus units company wide except the Rose Gold 256, and from what I'm hearing the in store stock will be EXTREMELY limited for walk ins. I can already imagine the amount of customer complaints I'm going to have to deal with because if it. It was the same thing last year with the 6S Plus. They were unicorns during the launch weekend.

Do you have an idea about ship to home 7 PLUS wise, or you have nothing to do with that?

If it's sold out online then it's sold out period. Ship To Home pulls from the same inventory as Bestbuy.com.

But does it go first come
First serve or just random
[doublepost=1473611109][/doublepost]It dropped 10 threads in 1 min. If it's not sticky no one will find it

I'm not sure I mostly only deal with in-store only but from my knowledge I'd assume its first come first serve. The same as in store preorders.

I guess we need to keep taking because the mods don't think Best Buy orders are Imporatnt enough to make it sticky

Dig up the many many threads from last year. Complete cluster...reps tell customers what they want to hear. Come release day there is no phone.

Wouldn't waste my time with Best Buy

Universal Carrier Devices, we've had the iPhone 6s UCDs in 16GB for over a month now.

This means that instead of having Sprint iPhones, Verizon iPhones, and AT&T iPhones, we have one pool of iPhones that are SIM free, but once the SIM card is placed in the device it's hard-coded to lock to the carrier of the SIM you activated the device on.

Not with Apple stuff, I have tried before.

I work as an ASM and have been price matching retail priced iPhones for the past 3 years across two different stores. It can be done and if your local store won't do it then ask to speak to the General Manager.

We cannot price match contract or installment billing prices. But outright retail prices we can

I've heard some smaller stores have weird stances on this.

With the last two iPhone launches (SE and 6s) we weren't price matching period for the first couple weeks, then we only price matched if an Apple Store within 25 miles had the item in stock. This was set in stone by district.

The fact of the matter is one person may not buy it because we refuse the price match, but with a product so high in demand and our store being so high traffic, someone will surely come behind them and pay the full asking price for the device.
