Did anyone have any problems/glitches ordering from Best Buy's website that morning? I had no issues (except finding the model I wanted -- it was the last one in the list. Not very well organized). Just trying to gauge if their servers were hit heavily or not...

I ordered 2 and the last one I ordered told me I couldn't complete the purchase because that item was no longer available. I changed to pick up at store, went to the next page to choose a store and selected the delivery option on that page and it went through. That was the only issue.

Searching online, it seems like Best Buy didn't get hit very hard with preorders.

Mine too. Probably system maintenance.

What I said and he reiterated isn't a matter of opinion... it's a fact.

When price-matched to Apple, the store makes no profit on it because it's essentially "at-cost". It's just revenue.

I really wouldn't be surprised if some stores aren't even selling them hardware only. I've heard of that happening around these times.

Does Best Buy get a kick back from the carriers when they make a carrier specific sale?
 
So the orders came back online and the option to cancel the phones is no longer there. It is there for the watches though. Something to that?

Edit: I also have 2 pending next contracts in my att account. Does it pend right away?

I was thinking about buying from Best Buy because I have a $50 gift card but now I'm second guessing because it looks like they will get the smallest stock. I'm in no rush to get one on launch day(would have ordered already if so). Might have to stick with AT&T or Apple.

My option to cancel both phones has been removed as well.

My next plans still show pending and they've been on the account since I placed my order.

Your post makes no sense, if you aren't in a rush then just use your gift card at Best Buy, who knows you may even get it sooner than expected.

I wonder if that is just a routine, regular thing or if something with the orders triggered it but I can't see how as there shouldn't be any such updates until the new phones are activated.

I have a Black iPhone 7 Plus 256GB on pre-order for store pickup that I placed mid morning after giving up on Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program at 2am and going back to bed. I also read that morning about how each upgrade is a new loan and a hard pull on your credit so decided to go back to Next on a 12 month upgrade cycle.

PS. I also lost the ability to cancel my iPhone from the order, have the pending Next plan and the date is still saying 9/16.
 
When I changed my order from in store pick up to ship to home I got the following email. Hopefully they hold true to their word!

I changed to shipping over the weekend and. ow my order is showing up as $130 where it was only $65 before i called.

On the phone with BB now to see what is going on. they came back and giving me a manual refund of $65.

Anyone else get the "Information about your plan" email last night at around 9:30pm CST and/or a text about the myAT&T app this morning?

I got 2 of those emails this morning for two of the lines on my account. Shows the new installment plan through Next.

I don't think AT&T completing the Next agreement has anything to do with receiving the phones. Two years ago when I added a line to my account with Next, the installment plan date began when the phone was preordered, not when it was received or activated.

I did get double charged the tax but I spoke to a manager and she said that once the charge actually goes through it should fix itself.

As soon as you get the email confirming its available you can pick it up. Preorders are held up to 48 hours after you get the initial email

Having worked at a Best Buy - we didn't charge more than Apple. Also I wouldn't buy from them for a first day or soon after - I think it will be quite a mess. It is never great there but....Also remember they will push you to buy all sorts of other things also.
Last year I decided 3 days before the launch to get a 6s and wen to my local Verizon store and had no problem getting one reserved for launch day. I think they even had a couple left over at the end of the day.

I pre-ordered a 7 Plus 128 GB Matte Black (AT&T) from apple.com first and got a ship date of 10/4-10/10, so then I pre-ordered one from Best Buy around 12:30 AM PST on 9/9 and got the email saying "Get it by: 9/16". Hopefully the Best Buy order comes through this week and I can cancel my apple.com order before it ships. Don't want to cancel it now though because Best Buy has some sketchy history with pre-orders.
