But didn't Apple say it would run apps? Not bashing just asking. Kinda seems like Apple relished he watch before it was ready for the prime time

Man, it runs Apples own apps on the watch, they provide enough functionality to be worth while.
Apple announced last year that native apps would come later in the year; so it is not like people that bought the watch would be surprised either.

The initial Iphone had no real apps, only web apps (and those were a lot worse than those remote bluetooth apps). The remote apps are mostly slow AT LAUNCH (and were not talking unbearably slow here, how much it annoys is relative to the app and the person using it).

The reason Apple did it this way is to make sure app dev could very easily make compatible apps at launch (with little investment) for a product with initially a very small user base; the apps on the watch are on fact extensions of the apps on the phone. Apps must make money for their makers, otherwise developers won't be making any more.

Apple also wanted to make sure bad apps would not mar the launch of the product (by restricting the on watch apps to Apple apps only); if a third party app running native bogs dog the watch, people would not blame the apps, but Apple.

Nice! Apple is getting prepared for a BUSY holiday season! By the end of the year, I expect to see a TON more people with an Apple Watch.

... and then return it a week later. Any teen or college student getting a $700 piece of kit will return it for something they've been really wanting.

I cannot wait for score a Best Buy open-box Apple right before the iPhone 6S drops.

Most people have no idea what to do with a smart watch, and Apple Watch is somewhat expensive. That buyers remorse is a great deal for me.

I guess that this makes sense in the rural areas but in New Jersey our local Best Buy sits between two Apple stores five miles away. Unless they sell at a discount I would think that customers would prefer the clean professionally staffed Apple Store environment.

I'm sure that's it- there are way more Best Buy's in remote areas (think places like Pennsylvania for example... where most people with iPad and iPhones have never even been inside an Apple store) than Apple stores, and this will increase (by a lot) the number of people who can go see one in the stores. When you think about it, only a small fraction of the US really lives close to an Apple store- sure, a lot of people do, but a LOT of people don't. So in a way, up until now, the Apple watch hasn't really been fully released yet.

So the fact that it was web order only in the beginning meant that people in Pennsylvania couldn't get one?

I'm about 50/50 when it comes to Apple related purchases. I don't see anything all that superior about the buying experience in Apple stores. I walk in, I get what I want, I walk out.

After purchase support is where the Apple stores come in handy. My local Best Buy has a full blown mini Apple Store as well, so I can demo and play with Apple products just the same.

So I walked into the Apple Store at south coast plaza in Orange County California and the guy working there asked if I'd like to try one on. I said, yeah, sure!
I tried the leather one on and it was surprisingly light weight. Way lighter than it looks or than I thought it would be.
But... The leather band felt really soft. And looked almost dare I say. A little cheap.
The stainless steel looked better than I thought it would and now I want the stainless one. But I just don't like any of the bands they offer. Except maybe the mesh looking one.
But that's the one I dislike the least so that isn't saying much.

i felt the same way. they look so bulky in photos and commercial. i tried the exact one you're thinking about. the stainless steel with the milanese loop band. (the meshy one) loved it!! easy to put one and no adjustment needed like a link band or buckle that may not have a hole that fits just right. it feels sturdy but extremely light. and as a bonus didn't snag the hair on my wrist. i want the sapphire glass. i tend to be rough on wearables. the iPhone type glass seems strong but there is no way to protect the glass. no bezel around it.
i'm in no way advocating nor do i work for viggle, but i watch way too much TV and so i use viggle while i watch and it will take a casual user a lot of time, but one of the item you can redeem your points for in an iPad. i have 3 accounts (mine, one for my mom, & one for my dog lol)and have gotten one iPad already. apple stores are pretty much no questions asked when returning stuff. i took that 16GB iPad back and got $499 towards a 128GB iPad. so i figure i can trade the next one in and have $499 towards the $699 watch i want. but seriously viggle is a lot of work if you want massive points. but 2000 a day is easy by doing a shazaam type thing with 20 songs a day. i've been on here since 2003 and this is the only type of thing i've ever advocated, and i i'm not getting any type of referrals. i just like the app for getting stuff. so if you watch a lot of TV and football especially, its a way to get iPads and other stuff.

I live in California and I've seen a lot of people wearing it. I've talked to about 10 people and I'd say 3 out of ten people said they don't like it or see s point in having one but then again one of those three received it as a gift so perhaps he didn't want it to begin with.
Most people have told me they love it. And majority told me at first they were unsure and had a little buyers remorse "like what is it good for" but then they say it grew on them and they enjoy it a lot. So I'm torn. I'm gonna thing about it longer. I tried I at the store. The apps opened really slowly. So I'll reserve judgement after that new update. Then I'll try again. I want to like it but it isn't up to par just yet. Especially for the price I'm going to pay. In my humble opinion

I had some serious reservations on the watch (wasn't going to get one). I got a 38mm for my birthday and exchanged it, upgrading to a 42mm. I had buyer remorse. However, now that I have it (< 24 hrs in!), I am already happy with the purchase. I can tweak the notifications I get so the watch only shows me the important stuff, I can activate certain things from my watch (such as Shazam), and there is a surprising amount of watch apps - for instance my shipment tracking can be viewed and alerted on my watch. Really, it's a nice tool and not just a gimmick, IMO. Also, that stainless looks great. Far better than the pics make it look.

So far I've seen one person wearing an Apple Watch. Hopefully soon I'll see two people wearing Apple Watches!
Come over and you can see me wearing one. I will introduce you to my wife which wears one. I will then take to my office and introduce you to two others that wear one. After work we can do happy hour with a friend of mine that also wears one. So in one day you can see five people wear the Apple watch -- what time should I expect you. :D:p:cool::);)

Once people sit behind a screen, then they have a license to make stupid generalisations, won't listen to other arguments on the basis that they used a word they don't like (fanboy, troll, etc, even if the naming has a basis) or make people seem like they're childish.
