Thanks for posting about this one. I currently use a magnetic vent car mount and can't imagine going to something that isn't magnetic, but this looks like it could do the trick! Is the case required for the phone to stick?
No, it will stick to just the phone. I’m thinking of going without the case now. Great solution for the metal plate issue with the magnet mounts.

Here are some pictures without a case. It’s really a tight fit without a case. This is a great option if you plan on going case less.

Thanks, I placed an order right away. I haven't decided whether I'll go caseless (I am tempted to, have not been in love with the design of an iPhone like this since iPhone 4, and I'll get Apple Care and IUP) but I definitely wanted something as easy to use as a magnetic car mount, without having to stick a metal plate on the back and interfere with wireless charging or at least with the aesthetic.

Yea this is pretty awesome!

This is very interesting. I've been using the car mount with magnetic plate for a while, but after I got the silver iPhone X, I've been very hesitant on putting a metal plate on my phone because I hated the way it looks. It really takes away from the beauty of the X. If this can work without using a metal plate, I'm all over it. Ordered one! Can't wait for it to arrive to test it out.

This isn't magnetic correct? how does it stick? Also, with touching it on the top and bottom like you're using the phone it doesn't have problems.?
It’s not magnetic. It’s some kind of material that’s not sticky to the touch but sticks to the phone very well. I’m able to use the phone just the same as I did with my spigen magnetic mount. Holds the same but without the case and metal plate.

Not for everyone, but for you Wrangler owners looking for a solution...here's a DIY I did today. (I swapping out the factory NAV for a Car Play unit).

interesting. not too sure how I feel about that over time. wonder if I can find some video reviews on it.

I have an old airframe from Kenu, but it's a tight fit for the X with an apple case, so I will be ordering the Airframe Pro.

Just received mine today. Setup using the air vent clip. I have an iPhone X and I’m using a Ringke Air case. I touch the pad with my finger, no stickiness. No way this thing can hold my phone up. I put the phone on the pad, and carefully moved my hands away. It stayed up!:eek::eek:

I wiggled the phone. My phone was totally held in place. My phone was going nowhere! Next thing I noticed was I kept saying, ‘This thing is WEIRD!!!’ o_O

Next, I tried to take the phone off the charging pad. Believe it or not, it actually took some effort to get my phone off the charging pad. I can’t believe how well it’s being held in place. I then took the case off the phone and put the naked phone by itself on the charging pad, same result, didn’t fall. Wow!

Since it was actually a bit difficult to take my phone off when it’s attached to the entire surface of the pad, next thing I tried was to only align the bottom part of the phone to stick to only the upper half of the pad. I drove for about 10 minutes. Once again, the phone is going nowhere!

This thing is bloody wicked!!!

Ronkuba, thank you to you for mentioning about this mount. I can’t believe this thing actually works. :p

It claims to be nano suction and there are a few other ones on Amazon with the same "nano suction" thing: cheap if you want something without wireless charging (I saw one for 4.50). I got my Seidio today but have not opened yet. Glad to hear another positive review!

Just bought it too based on everyone’s reviews here. I use a caudabe thin case, but the texture is rough, I hope it holds my iPhone X well.

Does Ringke Air have smooth texture? I plan on using the charger with another case but not sure it will work.

opened mine and it sticks like a marvel to my currently caseless (still in plastic) phone. In fact it's almost too hard to take off. Not as easy of an operation as my previous magnetic mount. Just something to keep in mind! I tested it briefly with my s/o's X which is in leather and it didn't stick quite as crazy hard, so that's something.

is the piece that attaches to the phone about the same width as the X? little less?

It’s about the same width. Here’s a picture of the X with the base.

[doublepost=1511282885][/doublepost]Similar to what ronkuba has already posted, here’s a few pics of the Seidio charging base with the air vent clip. Sorry for the overblown background.
