Swype was just updated with compatibility fixes and installation bug fixes.

Well, the new Swype update just asked for the "Allow Full Access"

yes - but know you can get and set it as default keyboard - meaning it comes up on default

You could do that before this update, just delete all other keyboards.

----------

Interesting, mine did not.

It works, but now it has the option to enable full access, it's to soon to know if the performance is different with it enabled or not.

----------

Yupp.
Only reason why I use Swype over SwiftKey.
So I voted for Swype instead.

Glassed Silver:mac

It's on Swype now, it works without it, but still don't know if the performance will be better with it on.

Where is that option? Can't find it anywhere.

I don't have guided access on.

deleting other keyboars would brake the fastreply deature - no keyboard available

----------

General - keyboards - swype - has an arow nox - press it - set for full access

Than start an app and set Swype. Kill the app completely - runinng it again - Swype comes up.

Without full access that doesn't work

Everything is working fine for me with full access off. I have no use for guided access so don't see the need to enable full access for it.

Our am I missing something here?

I guess this is a work around for the people that have Guided Access on.

I've been using Swiftkey and I really liked it, but I too am slightly worried about the full access requirement. So now I'm trying out Swype, to see how I like it. So far I think that they both Swype well, but the Swiftkey keyboard seems to not inadvertently insert bad punctuation marks. Still Swype is fairly impressive as well. Frankly this whole thing is pretty amazing that it works even as well as it does.

People should really look into what full access really means for these different keyboards instead of just worrying or perhaps relying on information that might not really be correct and going based off of it. It's likely not quite what many might think of it.

Instead of saying this like a know-it-all why don't you tell us what is full access?

And for me that's not even the problem if they see whatever I'm writing (passwords are protected by the default keyboard), it has to be with the fact that a keyboard is using internet access and how much this drains the battery, lets face it, battery usage is a big concern for almost everybody.

Agreed. So many people complaining about full access without even knowing what it means or complaining about having to log in with Facebook/Google like it's mandatory. Smh. No wonder why so many people here post stupid comments about Android and Windows all the time.

You use other keyboards too? Does Swype show up on every app after having killed them completely?

It didn't here, showed the standard keyboard that was second in line of keyboard settings when compeltely restarting an app. With full acces on I get Swype in whatever app I open

I'm not sure if it's intentional, but it doesn't do it for me either. :(

change the theme - black theme will show u all shortcuts

I'm saying that instead of posting things like "I'm worried about it" or something just overheard people should spend a bit of time looking into it all themselves to understand it. Surely that's more useful than just posting that one doesn't know much about it and is worried about it.

there's too many bugs in all of them. I'm going to wait a few months to let them work out the bugs and try again. I'm having keyboards disappear, crashing, re-loading the default keyboard etc.

Swype interests me the most, but I like the SwiftKey layout similar to Apple's default, and the dark theme.

I guess this answers the enable "Full Access" for Swype :)

you misunderstand. Only the bottom row of characters have "slide to space" gestures. (Z through M) All other secondary keys require a long press. At least in my experience. I was/am aware of the dark theme with Swype, having assisted another member in activating it in this very thread. Thanks though!
