I can't get Swype to work on my 5s. Once I install it in the keyboard settings I can't even pull up any keyboards at all until I uninstall Swype. Am I missing something? Swiftkey doesn't give me this problem.

Swiftkey needs a lot of work when it comes to swiping IMO. It gets one or two words horribly wrong almost every time I compose a message whereas Swype is more or less perfect. I'm hoping Swiftkey is updated or it just needs to learn a little more.

dogone.

All I want is a keyboard with left & right cursor controls, so I can fix mistakes when typing without having to use iOS stupid finger-on-the screen cursor position feature.

Anybody see any keyboards like that yet?

I like SwiftKey for the combination of Flow and predictive text, but I've also been trying out Minuum.

I am pretty blown away by how it allows you to type sloppily (in a healthy way, i.e. not having to worry about hitting every key accurately) and still gets what words you're trying to type. Its a true touch typists' keyboard, especially in the single line compact mode. Accuracy keeps improving the more you use it.

Right now I haven't seen a keyboard that does what I want. First, I want the numbers on the top of the keyboard so I don't need to go to a new page to select a number. Second, as noted above, I also would like the left/right/up/down cursor controls. Swipe is Important and finally, I'd like the keyboard to utilize my keyboard shortcuts - I don't believe any third party keyboard can do that. At the end of the day, what would be great would be a customizable keyboard that allows you to add these options if you want them.

Swype -- This is what I like: Alternates SHOWN on keys

This is what I like: Alternates SHOWN on keys for Swype

Press and hold a moment to get the (sometimes many) alternates for each key.

I really want to try Swype but currently in Asia and having problems updating my CC info. I've been hearing that its more accurate than Swiftkey.

I will wait until it is offered free (which could be months)

It's still premature to say who is the best , it seems as some apps were rushed to roll out the extensions. I was a Bit disappointed with swift key especially knowing the features that android version has over iOS also from personally experiencing it. hopefully on the next weeks or so updates will showcase how good these apps will be

Yea I like the Minuum keyboard also it's very very accurate.

Wait, this is an option with Swype? How do you enable it? I don't see them..

Did you see the attached picture? This is what I see on my Swype keyboard when it is selected via the GLOBE icon.

NOTE: in Settings you can re-order the keyboards to make Swype first at the top of the list.

Thanks! That's much easier.

You can also swipe up beyond the top of the keyboard to get a capital letter.

For example, saying you want to type Test. You start with your finger on the t key, but instead of swiping to e, swipe up right past the top of the keyboard, then swipe to e, then s, then t. You'll get Test instead of test.

I tried swype, and definitely a great alternative to the stock ios keyboard. But I keep going back to the stock keyboard to type. But definitely great to have Swype loaded as a second method of typing when I can only use one hand.
