You can also wrap a credit card with a small smooth piece of cloth (a few inches from an old tshirt for example) before using that as the squeegee if you are worried about the plastic scratching/stretching your skin.

I've never had any issues with just using a credit card though.

perhaps the dampness under the screen will dissipate in that amount of time, but I'll tell you what won't,

the scratches on the front of the screen, not superficial, two are deep enough to create that out of focus look of a scratch on a screen.

This is not the kind screen protection I thought I was getting. I can't live with these scratches! I'm going to send it back and get a refund, I don't believe these are as good as the others I have used. Never hado scratched fine or otherwise within 10 minutes of installation!

I also don't think this compares in clarity quite frankly, your getting what you paid for, a cheap substitute.

What other protectors have you used? And could you possibly post pics? Reading posts like these make me nervous.

Are the scratches from the squeegee you used?

BEWARE. If you purchase this item your front iPad will look like this!

Corners are completely covered. You can see a tiny slit of exposed metal but it's miniscule.

Seriously, chill out and give it a couple days before you do anything. Although I uldnt use this type of protector on the screen (whether BSE, Zagg, or others), you do need to give it some time to let it cure.

Then if you're not happy, call them and return it.

Got mine today and applied just the back. Looks awesome and I'm so happy the back is now protected.

For the front...like the others said...give it a couple days. It'll all clear up...really!

I use a thick piece of rubber that came with my wrapsol to do the application. I also wrap it in a damp microfiber cloth and then wipe down with light pressure. No scratches. That said, I would not want BSE on the front of the iPad. Too rubbery. Get a PowerSupport for the front, it's enough protection to prevent normal scratches and looks almost invisible.

And IME it takes a week or so for the excess moisture and air bubbles to work themselves out. They do go away though. Just be patient. Don't rub too much as you will just end up scratching the material.

OK I got my back installed tonight. For never applying one of these before it was pretty simple. I filled a water bottle with 10oz of water (it has a mark on it so I know it was exactly 10oz) and added exactly 1tsp of dawn (the blue unscented one if it makes a difference). I setup everything right next to the kitchen sink to make things easy. I sprayed my hands (this is to keep your fingerprints from showing up) and carefully peeled it off making sure to peel off the corners to make sure they don't stretch or rip or anything. After I peel off a few inches I sprayed it down. Pulled a few more inches, spray, etc. When it was completely off I just went to town and sprayed the back [of the film] several times. Putting it on I was kinda sloppy. First time I just kinda put it in the rough area. Wouldn't slide around for me (needed more soap?) but was easy to peel off and reapply and then it slides around enough that as long as your almost in the right spot it will move. Got everything lined up and took one of those plastic "fake" credit cards you get in the mail, sprayed that with the soapy water and squeegeed out the water. Started from the center and went out towards the corners.

Waited a couple hours and came back to handle the corners. They went down fine and I held each corner in place for a minute or so. Then tried to get out as many of the airbubbles as possible. Unfortunately there's still quite a few around the edge (the flat area is perfect) that refused to go away. Hopefully they'll disappear after a couple days. Also I apparently failed at lining things up perfectly as the top edge is slightly off. Everything is still uncovered but like the hole over the camera isn't centered.

Since people were asking for some pictures and I have a nice camera I took a couple pictures. One shows the corner and the other gives a good indication of the "texture" of it although keep in mind this is fairly close up and I had a single light so it would catch the reflection easily. In normal use I can't really see any texture to it. And for those that want to pixel-peep I have the full size images available for the time being on my dropbox. Picture of the corner is here. Picture of the texture is here. Both of these pictures are in the 4-5mb range. I did some cropping on them and a little resize on the corner one and post them here as well.

I have the front skin as well but probably won't apply it. It does have a little bit more grip to it, which is good for the back but not the front. Also I have an iPhone 3Gs I bought at launch and after 2 years of going in and out of my pocket there's no scratches on the glass and it never had a skin on it.

Some tips I could give: make sure the squeegee you use has a clean edge and spray it with the soapy water (also wrapping it in a paper towel or something may help). You could probably minimize the gap on the corners if you push it a little since I basically just pushed down on the corner and went with it. And if you get bubbles on the edges that don't want to come out your not alone. If I remember I'll update this after a couple days to see if those bubbles have gone.

(edit)Sorry on the images being all noisy and grainy looking, had to take the pictures at ISO800 and that's close to the limit on my Canon 40D

(update)After only a few days (march 21st) most of the bubbles are visibly gone but I can still feel them a bit, so I'm guessing it will be fine in a few days.

Well, everyone says this ghostly and what looks like a percolating bog is going to dissipate and leave a perfect screen, again I maintain it could not possibly because of the two surface scratches I currently have one scratch that is clearly visible, deep enough to refract light, in addition to many other tinier ones you can't see in the pictures.

I'll wait for my WRAPSOLL, and I have only used them to protect the body in the past so I have no idea how good their front protecter screen. I hope Power Support comes out soon, they last forever and they have that very good screen, matte, that truly reduces glare and it eliminates the fingerprint thing on like non existent, and one can see perfectly clear with it Plus the thing does not easily bruise or I should say scratch, that is what I find most disturbing about this product. It just should just not do this

I agree with the those that have had good luck with the back, as have I. SO its only half bad I guess!

How did you guys, who've already put their BSE backs on, manage to protect the back-facing camera and speaker from water damage during install?

I'm worried something will go horribly wrong and damage both. Didn't have this worry with the original iPad. :p

I was worried about this as well. I was thinking of putting some painters tape on to cover the holes but was to lazy to do it...haha

Once I dipped the back in water, I held it up and let the excess water come off, then put it on the back. That worked well and no water got into any of the holes. Plus, as I was smoothing it out on the back, I had a cloth that I kept mopping up the water with as I went along.

I got mine installed on the back too. Much easier than expected. The only problem I have is I guess I didn't pull it down far enough so there is minuscule overhang at the top. I've never gone without a screen protector, but I think I might with my iPad+smart cover combo.
