I just got my front and back protectors in the mail today. The back was fairly easy. I was a little worried about the corners from just looking at them. I didnt have any issues with excess water near the camera, speaker, or ports. I just worked away from them instead of towards them.

The front doesn't look the best right now, but that is kind of expected (from me anyways). I hope with a little time it clears up. if it doesn't I will just take it off. I am not worried about the screen getting scratched as much as I was about the back.

I love how the back does not impede the smart cover at all. Doesn't feel like it has any less stick to it. :D

All in all I am happy with my first BSE product!

I got mine installed on the back too. Much easier than expected. The only problem I have is I guess I didn't pull it down far enough so there is minuscule overhang at the top. I've never gone without a screen protector, but I think I might with my iPad+smart cover combo.

I'm feeling the same way. I have always had screen protectors, but that was with things I had in my pocket/bag uncovered. With the iPad I have BSE on back and smart cover and a sleeve so I feel like a screen protector isn't necessary this time.

Went with a similar setup.

BSE on the back
SGP on the front

Turned out great. I still have a few air bubbles on the back, but those will go away in 24 hours or so.

That's my exact same setup, so I feel like I'm safe too. The only thing that sucks is all the fingerprints. :D

Bought BSE for the FRONT only... received and installed it today - it is not easy to do especially on iPad. I must've wiped the front of the screen 100 times before installing - kept telling myself that any hair/dust/spots that are on the screen when I put the BSE on, they would be there forever. Then 2 seconds later a piece of dust would land on it. I did it in a steamy bathroom instead and helped a bit, with the humidity, the dust falls to the floor.

After install I have about 1-2 little tiny hairs and 2 pieces of dust trapped under the BSE... very very small but of course every little thing bugs me. I'll keep it on for 2-3 weeks and see if it still bugs me enough to remove it. Other good part about BSE is no fingerprints and after 30 minutes of swiping the iPad, it looks pretty nasty.

Well, everyone says this ghostly and what looks like a percolating bog is going to dissipate and leave a perfect screen, again I maintain it could not possibly because of the two surface scratches I currently have one scratch that is clearly visible, deep enough to refract light, in addition to many other tinier ones you can't see in the pictures.

Goldens, I think it kinda depends how much soap you used in your solution as well. The more soap you used the less gunk you will get. I learned this last time so this time I only put a small drop of baby shampoo in my entire spray bottle, less gunk than when I installed BSE on my wife's phone a few months back.

The gunk will go away, but sometimes it takes loooong time if you used a lot of soap. on my wifes phone it took 8 weeks to go away, but it did all go away finally.

Best part about waiting for it to go away is you can barely (if at all) notice it when the device is on - you'll see what I mean next time you turn it on.

How did you guys, who've already put their BSE backs on, manage to protect the back-facing camera and speaker from water damage during install?

I'm worried something will go horribly wrong and damage both. Didn't have this worry with the original iPad. :p

I didn't protect either at all. I did try not to squeegee right over the camera or speaker at first. Meaning I'd first swipe from the center down till I reached the right edge of speaker, then from that right edge to the left. Some water still went in the grill but I didn't worry about it. I kept it off overnight and by the next morning any moisture in there should have dried up.

Just installed mine (back only), wasn't too bad, although I had a bit of trouble lining it up right. I used a credit card to get most of the water out. Although after using the card I noticed some scratches which I hope was just on the BSE and not on the iPad.

I plan on not using the iPad for at least 24 hours, to make sure any moisture that might have gotten into the ports or speaker has evaporated.

Does anybody think I might need to wait longer?

Installed mine last night. So far I like it much better than the invisible shield. Really wanted power support, that's what I have on my iPhone. Still some hazy spots on the screen, hopefully that will go away in another 24 hrs. Really doesn't feel like there's anything on the screen! Very happy with it at this price point. Will report back on haziness after another day.

Installed mine today. Back went great. Ended up with 3 scratches on the fron even after I used a credit card wrapped in a microfiber cloth to smooth it out. I contacted BSE to see if they had any thoughts on the scratches. We'll see what they say. I was super careful to avoid the issues another poster had, ended up with the same scratches.

Back looks nice.

I'm interested as to what they say. I installed my back but have yet to install my front. I dint want to really degrade the screen.

Maybe it's my imagination but seems the scratches are getting less evident the more it dries. Anyone else?

I think this could be the case as well. I applied the skin to both front and back and had one small/medium scratch on the front. About 24 hours later, I can't find it. I think these skins may be "self-healing" which means that most scratches should disappear.

I still have a lot of micro bubbles. Fingers crossed, those will disappear too, although I suspect it will take some time. Unfortunately, I also have a few specks of dust that managed to make their way under the skin without me noticing. I'm planning to give it a couple weeks before I decide whether or not this drives me crazy and warrants removing/discarding the skin.

Hey mysterygirl I had 3 or 4 pretty evident scratches (from my credit card squeegee) and now after 72 hours of dry time I really can't see them - I think I might see one very faintly when the screen is off, but only because I know exactly where it was and I have to look REALLY hard for it so it might be my imagination.

Give the micro bubbles some time - I've applied BSE on a few devices before and they can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to go away, but I think eventually they will dry out.

I too have 2 specs of dust under my BSE, even after applying it in a steam filled room. I'm pretty anal but I think I will let them go as they are on the other edges but still bug me (my wife keeps telling me I'm OCD about this stuff). One of them I can feel when I run my finger across it. My iPad isn't even here and just thinking about it makes me want to....

For those that have had success putting on the front screen protector, what did you use with the water to create the solution? I followed the instructions and used dish soap, but once applied, even after waiting 3 days, there were fairly large bubbles all over the screen as well as a cloudy look in certain areas. I attributed this largely to the solution I created, as I followed all of the application instructions to a tee. Anyone with success wiling to share? Receiving a replacement so I am hoping to get it right the second time. Thanks for any feedback!

Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo

for what it's worth, mine came out prettty well (front and back, pictures are maybe one page back in this thread) and I used a solution of about 60% windex and 40% water in a tub of water that was big enough to submerge my screen protector in. I rinsed my hands and peeled off the protector, submerged in solution and let the excess drip down back into the tub. I feel with the windex solution that there's a lot more 'wiggle' room when adjusting the actual shield onto the screen to the aligned positions. I had a lot of bubbles initially but these literally went away after about 2 hours and now when looking at my screen, I can't even tell there's a shield on it unless I touch the screen itself. No scratches, I used a squeegie that my brother had laying around the house

The squeegie looks something like that^^^^

I started out doing the back shield first (it seemed like it'd be more difficult then the back..and it was) After some wiggling, the corners were pointed up and it worried me, but after a while they just seemed to fall into place....Then after I noticed how good it looked, I did the front with full confidence and that came out well too

Interesting solution mixture. I'll give that a try next time, thanks!

Of the plastic covers for the iPad, which is less rubbery and feels more like smooth plastic? I felt an invisible shield once and hated how rubbery it was. What about bodyguardz? Any advice?

I installed my BSE earlier this evening (just the back). Went real easy. Came back an hour later to push down the corners, they stayed in place just fine and everything is looking great. As far as solution used, I just sprayed the skin with LCD screen cleaner until it was dripping wet, shook off the excess and it has worked awesome for me. I also have used BSE on my iPod touch, on both the front and back using the LCD cleaner as the solution with great results.

BSE by far. I had zagg once and I hated the feel of it. BSE feels great in the hand.
