Can BSE skins be reused?

Hi all, I just got my BSE skin last night for front and back. Back looks great, front still shows a white ghosty set of patches (I assume this is soap and will go away?). Once you have a BSE skin on, I assume you can't take it off and then put it back on later? Will it lose all the adhesive?

Just wanted to check in case the patches don't go away. I guess BSE has a 30 day guarantee so I could probably get another one for free.

I got mine yesterday and installed the front and back skin. I had the same results as most of you. The back skin looks great and went on relatively easily. The front skin on the other hand......went on easily but looks like juicy garbage. The entire thing is caked in cloudy adhesive that I'm really hoping will go away soon. Also, the feel of the front skin is very cheap. Certainly didn't live up to my expectations. I mainly wanted it for the back anyway so i'll just remove the front cover and deal with it....the screen doesn't scratch easily anyway.

Can we get some more pics of the back?

there seem to be more than enough pictures of the results of the back application, seems pretty consistent to me. the front being an entirely different story.

I got an email back from them yesterday offering to send another front skin out,"free of charge", did they think I was going to pay for it?

I told them not to bother, and just send me the refund. see skins are just nit ment for screens, or if they are they are not as high a quality as e power support and SgP skins that have very good clarity and definition and amazingly do not scratch as easily as this one.

don't expect that kind of quality from a skin that costs $12.00 bucks, ain't going to happen, you get what you pay for!

Don't get discouraged with the haziness and scratches.

The haziness can take several days to completely disappear but afterwards it is perfectly clear.

And the BSE is a self-healing skin. I've had one on my iPhone 4 almost since I got it and it has endured several scratches that I thought for sure would be there forever, only to have them disappear in hours and sometimes minutes. I am not certain of the material they are made of, but they have surface tension that allows them to heal.

As for the orange peel (which is quite minimal), you see it when the screen is off. It has absolutely no affect on the screen when it is on.

I installed my bse about 58 hrs ago and am still waiting 'for the adhesive to cure' fully. Can still see 'sticky bits' under the screen.

I've installed about 30 of these things and this is taking a very long time. I'm beginning to get annoyed/concerned tbh.

Hands were washed repeatedly, didn't use much soap..pretty surprised at how long this is taking to clear up fully. It's hard to say, but if it is improving (past the first 24 hrs) it's happening very very slowly.

Ghost armor on iPhone took less than a day to be crystal clear..however I was obviously smaller.Bubbles are not an issue in any way, and with the device in the adhesive thing isn't all that noticeable. Howver it looks like donkey butt when it's off.

I've installed many of these as well and I'm also getting annoyed. The back is fine but the front has the same issues you have and I installed it on my wife's iPad last Friday. I'm going to give it until Wednesday and if it's not cleared up by then I'll just remove it.

Wnder if bse made some compromises for either quick release, easier install, or something...

Sucks. I hope everyone writes them about it..if mine doesn't clear up by 96 or so hours, they're getting an email.

Less than 12 hours installed on mine and it is already crystal clear. I just have dust/lint catching on the edges of the skin

Yep, these all sound like the problems I experienced, only I had tons of bubbles as well that were large. Getting another one for free too so I will give it another shot and maybe try it with a different solution. I had zero problems with the back as well, it is perfect. Not sure why the front is so much more difficult than the back to get on with a nice look.

I have given up with having to look at two pretty severe scratches and constant cloudiness under what I know to be a pristine screen.

they have refunded my money, I will wait for power support to release theirs, which I have had good experience with.

good luck to all, its just not for me, the company did the honorable thing though and I respect their customer service edict.

So it's been almost 48 hours since I put mine on and I still show the patches of white I mentioned before. They may be getting slightly better...but at this pace, it would take weeks to clear up. Should I think about taking it off and reapplying (maybe just with a water solution) or bag it and either get a replacement from them or buy from somewhere else? Didn't sound like reapplying after letting it set in is an option?

I have a Smart Cover...so this is really just optional for me and was more concerned about the back. However, with two little kids watching netflix, playing games...I was hoping for "full coverage".

If the spots are anything like the white spots/bubbles i experienced, I would probably go ahead and take it off, as i felt it would take weeks, months to clear up, if even at all. I was able to email them at their website and they were very willing to give me a replacement to try. And once you take it off, reapplying it again is nearly impossible and would not turn out near as well. So your best bet is to get a replacement and try it again. That is what I am doing, and if it does not work out again, i will just take it off and try a screen protector from someone else.

are there any any screen protectors for iPad 2 that doesn't require a water/soap type solution? I just want something that sticks immediately and don't have to worry about bubbles, squeegee, etc. Any companies make them?

Several... Most people here are going to recommend SGP or Powersupport (not currently available for the iPad 2 I believe). Speck, Targus, Belkin, and Griffin will have theirs out soon enough. iLuv has theirs available now, I saw one on sale at Amazon, but the review said it didn't fit right.

Last year I used a radtech screen protector and it was great, but don't have one out yet for the iPad 2. This year, I went ahead and ordered a screen protector from myGear. I haven't gotten it yet, so I can't say if it's good or not, but if its anything like radtech then I will be happy.

Ok, I trashed by BSE front cover as it was just not looking good and once I took it off and tried again I could tell it wasn't the same. I am requesting a refund and putting in an order for SGP ultra fine through Amazon. I contacted Power Support and they expect mid April for iPad 2 covers. Said to check back on their website for updates. Will give SGP a go. It has to be better than installing with the water/soap solution on BSE...right???

help!

I put on the back BSE lastnight and had a few air bubbles that were about pea size that would not move around with a credit card and were just stuck in place. This morning (about 8 hours after install) the bubbles are still there.

Any ideas if these will definitely disappear after the 24-48 hours or will I need to poke a hole on these types of bubbles to leak them out?

Don't poke them. They will likely disappear but it may take 1-2 weeks. Patience:D

Just got my BSE and I have two questions.

1) Can the skin be removed and reinstalled if I need to replace my ipad (I have some back light bleed and may try replace the ipad if they ever fix the manufacturing issue)?

2) Has anyone tried installing the front protector without any water? Will it stick?

Front "wet" installs never look right compared to the dry screen protectors that don't require water. I prefer the wet installs only for the back where it isn't being applied over glass like the front screen, looks significantly better that way.

Customer Service

I ordered my best skins ever full body for the ipad 2 and the iPhone 4 last week. I received my order today and only the iPad 2 shield was in the package. I immediately sent an email to them asking if my iPhone 4 body kit was cooing in a different shipment or if they just forgot to send it with the iPad skin. I received an email back within 2 hours letting me know that they were very sorry they forgot to send my iPhone 4 skin and said they would send one out right away.

I then received an email that my order for the iPhone skin was processed, THEN I received an email that my order had been shipped! I would say that is very good customer service!!

I will be installing the back of my iPad 2 skin later tonight. I am not sure about the front skin with what everyone has been saying about the install not coming out the way they expected. I may give it a shot and if it's not good just take it off.
