My God this is effing gnarly:

1) Can the skin be removed and reinstalled
2) Has anyone tried installing the front protector without any water? Will it stick?

No and No.
(1) It'll stretch as you take it off and never again be the same shape
(2) Adhesive is water activated. No water => no activation.

With that said, my opinion is this material is fine for backs and sides but is awful for a screen. Much better to go with a static-cling type of shield such as the ones frm SGP, Boxwave, or a million inexpensive ebay ones if you're not as persnickety about fingerprints as some. Look for dry application.

I have a decal on the back of my iPad. Do you think I can get the same experience with a back skin than if I didn't have one?

Here's my BSE front with Wrapsol back. I originally had the Wrapsol full body but the front looked like crap so I scrapped it and replaced the front. This is after 3 days for the front and a week for the back.

My BSE looks pretty good on the front after 4 days, there are still some spots that need drying and it will take a couple more weeks but nothing I can't live with until then.

I think you guys used too much soap, just a drop of baby shampoo in the whole spray bottle is all that's needed - I mentioned it earlier in the thread and learned from experience with BSE on a phone earlier...

Your gunk will go away eventually but could take 8-10 weeks...

I reinstalled the front (see my pics in this thread for how awful my front came out the first time) and it worked out fine. Didn't stretch and the iPad looks fine now. You can take it off and reinstall.

Good point and I'm glad that worked out for you.

To clarify my statement, I was thinking in terms of after it's fully dried/cured; i.e. after a month or so. If it's still fresh, the likelihood of success is higher as joltaxt can attest.

Here is a pic of the bse back vs sgp back vs MBA (no skin). The sgp back got stained from my red cover.
Sorry, bad photo on iPhone in a badly lit room (I used my lamp)

I had the same problem with the sgp skin on my ipad 1. The apple case stained it badly and permanently

I stuck the home button sticker on without any water as a test and it stuck very well. I imagine the skin would probably do the same.

has anyone else who has used BSE for a long time (4 years now for me), noticed that the material they are using is becoming more clear? I think this newest batch that I got for my iPad 2 is veryyyy clear on the screen compared to older BSE's I've used. It's much less grainy.

I've never used BSE before, but if this is their clearest screen protector, I'd hate to see their older stuff. This is by far the worst screen protector I've ever had on any device.

Just tried applying BSE to my brand new ipad and what a bloody mess!!!! :(

Ive shoved the back one on quickly as need some protection but its bubbly as hell, so im purely relying on smart cover for front protection! have ordered some static cling screens on ebay so fingers crossed for them, used 1 on my original ipad and was perfect so hope they get here soon!

And the blemishes will be easily visible.

They're not lying to you when they say it's a wet install. There's a reason for it.

Even the install page says the adhesive is not water soluble, so the water doesn't "activate" it. The wet install makes it a whole lot easier. With a dry install you only have one chance to get it right, plus it may be harder to press out bubbles. Also you probably couldn't have done like someone else mentioned and reapply it. I guess if you plan on getting a different screen go for the dry method if you want but it will probably look worse than some of these pictures.

I got pretty lucky with my BSE front and back install.

The back was no problem. The overall alignment and corners turned out fine.

The front went on fine as well. I worked out most of the bubble and the front has that ghost effect similar to some of you but I am going to wait about 1-2 weeks and see if it improves.

If it doesn't work out, I'll replace with a Power Support later.

With the spray bottle, I made sure that it was a fine mist coming out and I sprayed from about 1-2 feet away. I didn't want to shoot streams of water on the film.

Installed mine last week. During the install I had a few bubbles that would not work themselves out. After trying for a while they weren't budging so I just left it. I thought I had read that bubbles might go away on their own. I have to say they did go down quite a bit. Within a couple days they had gone down a bunch. Well now it's been a week and I don't think they are improving anymore. They still are slightly raised and very visible. Is there anything I can do? I am beginning to regret not just buying the Zagg for lifetime warranty.

Are the people getting creamy/white/spotty front installs using any kind of soap with creams, moisturising etc? Anything other than pure soap they don't recommend.

Seriously, fill up a basin with water, add not even 1/100th of soap, literally a few small drops, mix it in slowly, don't let it foam up.

Ok put on the back last night. First time to install one of these. The finished result is really great. I took my time and followed the instructions posted on this topic to the letter. The trick for me was waiting for about 40 minutes before I stuck down the sides with my fingers. I also waited 12 hours before I used it. I have a smart cover on it and it works well. I will not be putting the front on. I can definitely recommend this product.

yes the back is great and i definitely recommend it for the back. And yes, on the first go round, i do believe i used too much soap within the solution...i did the second one tonight and it seems to have at least turned out better then the first time, but not sure really just how good it turned out. Guess i will find out in the next day or two.

After 48 hours, the front and back turned out great. The white, spotty film in some areas went away. I think it just takes time to dry. I am very happy with this product.

I was going to buy a power support for the the front if the BSE front turned out bad. Thankfully I won't have to do that anymore.

Just take your time. Make sure to use a fine spray from the water bottle. Don't worry about too much water and use a good rubber squeegee tool or credit card and work out bubbles within the first 30 minutes.

Best skins ever for sale(iPad 2 & iPhone 4)

I have an iPad 2 full body (wifi+3G) that I will not be using. I originally ordered 2 but my wife has decided that she doesn't want the 3G and will be getting the wifi only model. I also have the front screen for iPad 2 since I decided I like the feel of the iPad screen and didn't use the front screen protector.

If anyone is interested please send me a private message. I also have a full body iPhone 4 as well as the border and back for iPhone 4. I bought 2 of those as well and decided to only use the back for my iPhone and my wife didn't want to use it on her phone. I use a china bumper and wanted more protection on the back glass for my phone. Wife didn't want ANYTHING I bought her lol

I'm just looking to recoup some of the money I lost purchasing these since I won't be using them. I'll sell for $40 for the whole set shipped which is about a $10 loss to me. I might have a better chance selling individually so if you send me a pm I will give you prices for which items you want.

Thanks guys! My loss can be your gain lol looking to get some money back and help some of you Mac rumors friends out in the process.

EDIT: You can also email me at Machine6483@aol.com I also forgot to mention that we can go through Paypal for the transaction :)
