Ah, I was noticing a certain kind of newly-minted troll poster(s) in another thread, also hassling someone (another female, natch) for not being a hand model.

I had some newbie whiner tell me mine was tight in another thread, which was hilarious. Mine is on the first page of this thread and my wrist isn't large by a long shot.

I'm not gonna let a pissy stranger on the internet upset me with their opinions of my wrist, though. ;)

Most of the blatantly rude types I just write off as teenagers, people who are cranky because their watches have yet to arrive, social misfits, or a combination of the three.

I have seen quite a few people in this thread tell the OP very politely that the watch LOOKS too snug, and I cannot see why that sort of comment should offend. It's a statement about a photo. None of us can see it in 3 dimensions.

I have not minded the polite comments, but when people say my arm looks like a pig's leg, I draw the line and the moderators have deleted quite a few of the rudest comments.

Looks like it's choking your wrist. You need a bigger size.

Well, it isn't my wrist is fine. Thanks for your concern.#

Oh, I agree that there have been some incredibly rude comments and I think they were highly inappropriate. I'm sorry that so many people lack tact.

My sport watch band looks like it's choking my small wrist and then some! But after a weekend of wear I've gotten used to it and it's fine. Same with my sister-in-law. She tightened it to the point it looked uncomfortable to me, but she insisted it was fine. It is weird how it works out like that for some of us, but it does. I think it depends on the band. I found I could not stand to wear the modern buckle adjusted as tightly as the Sport strap is.

People take potshots at other people for all sorts of things. I grew up in a rough neighborhood, have been in a lot of fights, did some animal rescue work and got some bites, had some freak accidents, and then had cystic acne on top of all that, so I have some unusual scars for a woman. Oh and I am biracial which adds to the unusual factor. Some people think I look cool and some think I look ugly and strange. Whatever. Some people can't feel good about themselves unless they can put someone else down. I've seen people talk about how ugly beautiful actresses like Natalie Portman are, proving that nobody is immune from criticism from the small-minded. Insults have so little meaning to me anymore. Especially when I consider the insecurity and immaturity of the people making them.

I owe apologies to people who I got upset with when they were rude to me. So I am very sorry. I hope everyone is enjoying their watches and if you haven't gotten it yet, I hope it comes soon. I have changed the face to the flowers. I had ordered the 42mm SS watch to try in case this one didn't work. It was scheduled for delivery in June, but I think I will cancel it.

It's too bad people were rude to you. For one, I don't think the watch looks too small for you, especially for a lady. It does look a bit uncomfortable, but if it does not bother you then I think it's great. Of course, the bands are always changeable in the future for a new look! Congratulations on being able to get it so soon.

Sometimes I'm really impressed by how far we've come in the world, and then some days you see things in the forums and on the news and it makes one sad to think that some things might never change. Too bad so much attention has been placed on words and actions rather than on what people really believe.

I hope you're enjoying your watch the way it is comfortable for you, it's nice to have some criticisms and suggestions but ultimately a big part of the Apple Watch is that each person can enjoy it the way that person feels best!

OP, I think the watch size is fine but the band appears to squeeze your wrist. If it's comfortable for you, then great! If your previous posts are any indication, it's not unfair to say your self-esteem IS fragile. When you make posts saying, "I know I'm a horrible person" and announce you just discovered you may have cancer, you're inviting pity. Lashing out at people on the internet is futile. Enjoy your watch and don't take every comment personally!

Last night, I posted that I was afraid the watch I ordered wouldn't fit. Got it today, it fits with not a lot of loop left. I got the 38mm with Milinese loop. I owe apologies to people who I got upset with when they were rude to me. So I am very sorry. I hope everyone is enjoying their watches and if you haven't gotten it yet, I hope it comes soon. Go with whatever makes you happy and works for you - I don't think 3d party people can offer much advise based on pictures, we don't know you or what it looks like in person.

It is down to who you feel with it and if you can use it how it is meant to.

Go with your gut instinct :) and if you are happy with the one in picture, stick with it :D

MR used to be a lot more mature before the iPhone, now there are a lot of younger posters that find this kind of rubbish funny, with fame and success the community has become watered down somewhat in quality, and good member leaving.

Your watch looks fine btw.

In the end you're the one wearing it and if you're happy with it, screw the rest. It's your life after all. If it's comfortable for you, and you like the way it looks, that's all that matters right? Smile and wear it with pride ☺️

I saw the later pictures and the 38 looks fine, but I'd still recommend the 42 because of the other band options. I think you'll struggle to find many bands that fit you with the 38 when you're that close to the maximum on the Milanese. However, if you have no interest in other bands, then don't worry about it! :)

Here is one showing more of my arm and hand. Thanks again.

The watch looks lovely but I'm wondering how you manage to get your hand through the Milanese loop to fasten the watch, Is it difficult? I think the size does suit you, (and you do have gorgeous nails) but maybe another strap would be better, perhaps you could try a sport band.

I would say it is worth trying a 42mm but I do agree that the watch does look pretty and feminine on your wrist, so I can see why you are reluctant to go bigger.

My hand fits through the loop just fine. My 42mm is in the June window, and there has been no movement forward.

IMO, and I hope this does not offend anyone (but it probably will) I find the 38mm face looks more "dainty/delicate" and dressy and The 42mm looks more sporty, athletic, strong.

So I would say it depends on the look you are going for.

I think the 38 looks just fine on you.

Likewise I'm not a fan of the 38 on men.

But this is a fashion accessory - some dudes loves skinny jeans, some don't. Some women only wear leggings, some don't. Some overweight people prefer to wear loose clothes, some prefer to wear tight clothing....

Find your style, express it how you like it!

Flex.

I think "dressy" is one of the reasons some guys opt for the 38.

Yep, totally makes sense. It's all about the style and look you are trying to achieve. I've got tiny wrists and rock a nixon 51-30. Most would find it way too big for me...but that's the look I wanted.

Glad the OP asked for opinions, it's cool to see all the different perspectives.

OP, I think the watch looks fine on you, but what would bother me is the fact that the end of the Milanese loop which should be on the underside of your wrist, shows on the side. If that doesn't bother you, then I think the watch is fine and you should go with the watch you like and not the opinion of others. Enjoy whichever watch you decide on. I can't wait to get mine.

Teach - I notice everyone is trying to say "do what you want" and "what feels right". I also notice people that say it looks fine always have a "but" in the same sentence.

I believe you asked for opinions, yes?

It's too small for you. Get a bigger one. It will look better.

Now, that's just my opinion. Obviously.

Personally, I'd get a bigger one. It's not healthy for anyone to have a watch that tight on their wrist.

I choose 38 because it's more comfortable. I don't have tiny wrists but the 42 felt uncomfortable. So regardless of if its dainty or girly I went with the 38 because it's comfortable.

This all will probably be moot now that Apple has released specifications so third parties can manufacture bands that meet or exceed Apple's standards. I'm hoping third parties release a wider range of band sizes and by summer. There will also be adaptors that should help all of us be able to choose standard bands for our watches and open our options even further.

After all, Teach is not the only forum member who has struggled with choices lately. Now we are seeing people's allergies to leather or metal or other components forcing them into tricky decisions.

I have a 38 and so does my husband. It has a lot to do with the width of the wrist and not so much to do with the diameter of it.

I've seen women and men with wider wrists and some of those people also have wrists that are smaller in diameter while others do not. All of them, however, look better with the 42.

Women and men who have a smaller width wrist, regardless of diameter, tend to look better with the 38.

Unless one is opting for a quirky fashion statement with an oversized watch or wanting a watch to appear more dainty if they're a woman with a wider wrist, of course.

The OP looks like she could go either way, given the width of her wrist. The diameter of her wrist makes it look like the 42 mm would offer more band options, but she may well wind up preferring the smaller watch face of the 38mm.

There will be plenty of third party bands coming out and I'm sure she can have her pick then.

I agree.
