If the magnet comes loose the band does not open completely. It still has to come over the hand. Not so easy to snatch it off. 😎
Go with the 42 with the longer band. The end (magnet ) will sit under your wrist, which will look better.
I found that the 'sizing guide' using a credit card is pretty accurate. I used this technique to determine my size. I then went into the Apple Store for a sizing and confirmed that a 42 is best for me.

Thanks for your input. Apple isn't shipping out any of the Leather Loop combinations. No explanation as to why they aren't doing any of those orders. If it goes much longer without an explanation, I may return my 38mm that everyone here tells me looks bad and cancel and be done with it all. I am weary of being put down and slammed for making comments. I know I am a horrible person, but don't need constant reminders. And no, I am not seeking pity or attention, making a comment. Thanks again for comments and input.

Look, I've told you before, the internet is not a safe place for the fragile. And I'm considering you fragile, since you seem to be allowing a whole bunch of strangers that you will never meet affect your self esteem. You can either post here and engage with those who do not have bullying in mind, understanding that we all have different viewpoints, or you can find another outlet to meet your needs. But when you ask what people think, you have to be prepared to actually hear what people think.

You know laser tattoo removal is really cheap and relatively painless nowadays. You don't have to live like that anymore if you don't want to.

I think a big problem is the pictures we see are only 2D, you are seeing it in real life 3D. You are the only one that truly knows how it looks and fits.
To me, the 38mm looks nice on you, it has a more feminine look than a larger watch would. When I was younger, small watches were in style, a watch did not have to cover your whole wrist, and smaller watches look fine to me.
