It has NO WiFi!!! Does anybody else other than me and "linsam" care about this?

On another note, one thing I do wonder about the Storm is how good it's battery life might be compared to the iPhone's. Does anybody know?

i dunno i thought wifi would be necessary on the iphone but i find myself barely EVER using it. i pay 30$ for 6gigs of data per month so i'm going to milk that as much as possible.

Thats great asuming you are always in a 3G area. I am sometimes outside of 3G coverage or at home. 3G drains the battery.

Really? How so? I personally use it a lot on my iPhone at home and at work so I find it useful. I didn't think it would actually be a bonus not to have it.

i was being facetious. No wifi=dealbreaker. for a whole lot of reasons.

ATT service is horrible, Verizon service is much better

that is probably the only reason most of us iPhone users would move to a Storm. i got the iPhone because it had all the features i wanted. just a shame ATT service is so horrible. the Storm is not junk and it has its purpose for the business user. the iPhone is geared more toward the consumer. the funny thing is RIM is trying to move more consumer while Apple is trying to move toward business and i think they should both just stick with what they are good at, RIM for business and Apple for the consumer

I'm definitely getting the Storm. I had an iPhone 3 for like 4 months and it misses many features. I think i will be very satisfied with the Storm.

Some, but not a lot. EVDO is all over.

The iPhone needs WiFi because at first because it only had EDGE, and later it has ATT.

Its battery is bigger and replaceable, it has real push, and it doesn't have WiFi to drag it down.

I think it's 360 hours standby, and 5.5 hours talk. Slightly longer than the iPhone 3G.

verizon has the best coverage where i live and i'm going to be eligible for an upgrade on christmas day.
it'll either be the storm, voyager, or the dare..
decisions decisions

that's a pretty simple decision....the storm

well, i dont know
i like the idea of a full physical qwerty keyboard since i text like crazy and i'm not sure if i'd fully utilize the features of the blackberry..
i'll have to go into the store and test the phones out.

Just more crap I need to download to make it work like the apple products already do :)

some cant ever be happy:rolleyes:

[sarcasm]yea, i would much rather NOT have a way to sync the phone with my mac. would be loads better[/sarcasm]

the voyager is an ok phone. pretty big though. touch screen is pressure based (i like the capacitance ones more personally)

i had the yoyager but got the iphone after using verizon's test drive. didnt like how all their software didnt support apple at all so couldnt upload music, anything

Actually, the iPhone has wifi because it is generally faster than 3G and lots of places still only have Edge. Secondly, WiFi doesn't "drag" the battery down. It's actually much easier on your battery than 3G or Edge. So not having Wifi is 1) worse for your battery and 2) slower.

unless people are waiting in line 3 weeks after its release, its not as cool as the iPhone. Waiting in line for my iPhone for three hours was the funnest part about buying the phone! It didnt help that I was in front of 2 really cute girls who liked to talk a lot but yah, unless people are flocking to the verizon stores to get their storms, it isnt that cool!

but applaud Apple when they are doing the same thing.

When I see all these new features, it gets me excited about the next generation of the iPhone. Just imagine what Apple is going to add to the next version of the iPhone to stay on top and outdue the Storm and G1. It's going to be awesome! :D:D:D:D:D

Agreed. I was thinking of having both 3G and WiFi turned on, when I said WiFi was an extra drag.

As for speed, depends on the WiFi. I'm happy using Slingbox over EVDO on one of my phones, and I know several Sprint users who have never missed WiFi either.

Personally, I'd want WiFi as an option to use around the house.

Yes I have considered it. Once I learned it didn't have wifi it was an idea that quickly left my head. I cannot carry a iPod Touch and a BB around ... I want internet no matter what as I've grown too accustomed to having it.
