Heck no!!! The features do not compare to the iPhone's. I also hate how fat it is and the obnoxious noise the screen makes EVERY SINGLE TIME you touch it. I HEART iPhone. :):apple:

I'm eager to try out the Storm for myself. I grow more tired of the iPhone with every passing day, and being back on Verizon would be heavenly. So we'll see.

When I see all these new features, it gets me excited about the next generation of the iPhone. Just imagine what Apple is going to add to the next version of the iPhone to stay on top and outdue the Storm and G1. It's going to be awesome! :D:D:D:D:D

well when the iphone 3g was released it didnt top any other current phones in terms of features at all except the UI.

The Storm actually has a SIM card.
More accurately, it has a SIM card slot, it doesn't come with a SIM card because Verizon doesn't use them. A SIM can only be used internationally. You can't use a SIM from a US-based provider in it.

Verizon doesnt allow wifi for any of their phones..always been that way....ive had the iphone since day one..love it, but as each day passes i get sick of them ignoring us when we constantly request simple updates such as mms, text fwd'ing, and copy paste..im seriously considering it....

Hate to break it to you but its not JUST a Verizon phone ... its a global product ... to just not include the chip seems moronic

Beautiful phone, but no wifi = total fail. You will need that extra battery if you surf over 3G all the time.

I couldn't agree with you more and Apple knows that they're finally in for heavy weight bout too. I find it way too coincidental that they're finally addressing some of our issues at the same time the Storm is to be released. NOW they want to give us a tethering option and allow Orb to stream video content? NOW they want to loosen up on their radical rejection policy for the app store. They're just readying themselves for the storm. I've already halted all purchases for the iphone (apps, case, etc.) as I'm strongly assuming that I'll make the change over. And for those that want to keep complaining about the Storm's screen (before ever using it) or posting your doubts about it.....Apple's implemeting it into their notebooks - I bet you'll love it then.

Without getting into too much detail - I have a friend who works in the R&D dept for RIM that was involved with Storm project and he's been testing/using it from it's first days out of the factory. Needless to say, being in the industry, he has a BB and an iphone (probably a few), as well as a slew of other phones, and he said that it's even exceeding his expectations. RIM really put the iphone up on the chopping block with this phone, broke it down, analyzed all it's shortcommings, listened to the public's feedback (something Apple doesn't know how to do) and designed a device to take down the Goliath (or at least as best as they could under Verizon's constraints). Now I don't think anything will ever really "kill" the iphone, simply because they've marketed themselves too well and its fanbase is just too large and fanatic, but Apple will definitely be woken up with some cold water on the 21st. RIM's repeatedly proven that they know how to accomplish what they set out for and rise above, this phone's no different. They didn't invest the ammount money that they did simply to give their current fanbase a new phone...if they fail to capture a nice portion of the iphone's audience they'll see this project as a failure, and they're not known to fail.

I love when people say the BB Storm isnt the iphone "killer"

Its obviously far from killing the iPhone... But when people say its not meant to compete with the iphone, they are completely clueless. If it wasnt meant to compete with the iPhone, it would be out for every service provider in the US. Clearly, RIM is trying to send Apple a message that they will play this game also.

I am tired of this exclusive crap!!!! All it allows them to do is over price everyone on their plans. For verizon I would have to have the 100 dollar plan to get what I have on AT&T for 90. If I want GPS on verizon its another 10 bucks.

Verizon is ripping people off.

if i didnt get my 3g when it came out then i might of considered this phone.

oh well now im stuck in a contract.

FYI --- Blackberry now offers PocketMac for syncing iCal, iPhoto etc.
Pocketmac is useless.

i dunno i thought wifi would be necessary on the iphone but i find myself barely EVER using it. i pay 30$ for 6gigs of data per month so i'm going to milk that as much as possible.
Please Wifi is way faster than 3g, I won't even consider a phone unless it has it.

Some, but not a lot. EVDO is all over.

The iPhone needs WiFi because at first because it only had EDGE, and later it has ATT.
Right and if the iphone didn't have wifi y'all would be complaining. Wifi is faster than 3g and some places you don't always get 3g so wifi is a must for a lot of people.

We sync our iPhones via iTunes. The BB syncs via PocketMac. It is pretty simply actually and not that big of a deal. :)

I had a BB prior to my iPhone, and using PocketMac was not fun. It did the simple syncing, but it was ugly and I could only figure out how to use about half of the functions. Maybe it has changed since I had it, but I don't consider myself an idiot when it comes to computers.

Yes I have considered it. Once I learned it didn't have wifi it was an idea that quickly left my head. I cannot carry a iPod Touch and a BB around ... I want internet no matter what as I've grown too accustomed to having it.

This whole post makes entirely no sense.

I am seriously considering switching to the storm. I'm tired of all the bugs with the iPhone...dropped calls, safari crashing, and all the rest of the rants.

My company refuses to use the Storm (darn it) and will stick to the new Bold. They are phasing out Verizon and moving ATT 100% come summer 2009. i am curious obout the Storm and I actually got a call from Verizon last night requesting I "come back" for the Storm. The sales rep said it will exceed expectations and really will put the iPhone to shame.

I thought reps of a company shouldn't be bashing other company products? This is the second time Verizon has said something like this in regards to the iPhone. I was a 12 year customer and they really want me back
