obviously i was exaggerating, but only because EACH new model has to be a huge upgrade to the previous. even some s upgrades had some groundbreaking additions(think of the 4s). for now this "new" phone seems very sad.
It really doesn’t. Huge improvement in cameras and other device charging are 2 useful features. You also get many other features compared to an iPhone 8.

Well many don’t even understand—or won’t admit—that the XS improved on the X in almost every way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The XS camera alone is far better than the X.

i know it's all subjective, but the cameras i'm ok with. i would much rather they focused on battery life without making the phone thicker. charging other devices using iphones can be a disaster. the notch is still there, the phone is getting thicker. this is lame. and why are still comparing it to the 8?..

"Apple is working on an "auto-correction feature" to "fit people back into a photo who may have been accidentally cut out."

I can't think of why I would need that...however instead they should autocorrect group photos to automatically get everyone in the group looking directly at YOUR camera at the same time.

I'm interested to know how the reception compares to my iPhone X with a Qualcom modem. I'm sure when it has good reception the data speeds will be faster but I often find myself in areas with just a bar or two.

Redundant information, let's just assume Tim's Apple produces no new designs unless otherwise stated.

New designs under Tim Cook’s Watch

-iPhone 6
-iPhone X
-iPad Pro 2018
-Apple Watch Series 4
-MacBook
-MacBook Pro
-MacBook Air (2018)
-Mac Pro (yeah, haha)

I’m not quite sure why you have the impression that new designs happen any less (or any more for that matter) under TC than under SJ. If you are talking about iPhone specifically and the fact that the iPhone 7 had the same design as the 6, well that’s just one anecdote about one iPhone having one extra year of a design before the largest ever redesign to iPhone X so.....

The worst kind of Apple haters are the Tim Cook haters...

I'm really starting to like that big square on the back. It reminds me of a formage board with giant slices of black truffle on top of fol epi.

Sort of harkens back to when they were shoving everything into the tower G4 Power Macintosh.

It's pretty telling when the majority of news about new iPhones is about the cameras...

Might as well call it the iCamera XI.

Yawn.

Me too only cuz my two years are up.

My 7 Plus is still going strong... no need to upgrade... yet. If I don't upgrade in 2020 (4 years), I'll just keep riding it until it goes to that great golden apple in the sky.

How are we still talking battery? I constantly use it and the X lasts all day. Charge at night.

It's not a toomah!!! It's a camrah!!!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

And will cost

i wish they went back to their thinness obsession. i preferred the thickness of the iphone 7 to the X. and now it gets even worse...

I hope the new phone will be able to charge the Watch as well. Even if I had the Qi version of the AirPods case I don't think I'd need to charge it on my iPhone, I usually charge mine twice a week so it would be hard to find myself in the situation I need an emergency charging and if I'm able to charge my iPhone I can charge the case as well.
The Watch has the proprietary connector, if I forget to pack the cable it would be great to charge the Watch via my iPhone, not something I'd do often but nice to have.

As for the camera I like the zoom, and I'd rather have better low light pictures than a wide lens, so I hope they'll work on that as well.
Agreed. I can zoom out with my feet by walking backwards, but not as easily forwards to zoom in. My guess is they're sweating over the low light advances of Google and Huawei

I've had every iPhone from the 2007 but last few years had been so disappointing. All these rumors about the new iPhone is so boring. For the 1st time in over 10 years, I am debating on finally switching to Samsung.

I genuinely don’t understand comments like this. The iPhone is incredibly thin, even in comparison to smart phones 10 years ago. The XS is 7.7 mm thick, that’s hardly ‘thick’. I understand it’s your preference, but I generally don’t think consumers will notice a millimeter or two of added thickness.

Apple is widely expected to unveil three new iPhone models in the fall, and ahead of time, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman and Debby Wu have shared several expectations for the devices. While many of the details have already been rumored, this is still worthwhile corroboration from two reputable reporters.

iPhone-XI-vs-iPhone-XI-Max-1-800x450.jpg
All three iPhones will look similar to the current versions beyond additional cameras, including triple-lens rear camera systems on both the next iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max and a dual-lens rear camera system on the next iPhone XR, each housed within a square camera bump.
The next iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will be "about half a millimeter thicker."
The third camera on the next iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will be an ultra-wide-angle lens that enables a broader range of zoom. The second rear camera on the next iPhone XR will enable increased zoom as well.
All three iPhones will be powered by a faster A13 chip, designed by Apple and manufactured by TSMC. Early test production began in April and mass production could begin as early as this month.
All three iPhones will have a feature that lets users charge the latest AirPods and other devices by placing them on the back of the devices.
Apple is working on an "auto-correction feature" to "fit people back into a photo who may have been accidentally cut out."Apple should announce the next iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR models in September, but their names are not known yet. They have been variously referred to as iPhone 11 or iPhone XI models.

First, WOW... the ability to power a set of headphones... my iPhone SE and every one I had before it has that SAME capability! AND unlike this, I suspect, mine has the ability to CHARGE them WHILE THEY’RE IN USE, rather than having to somehow charge them externally while NOT in use. I guess aPple is taking baby-steps towards eventually, for MUCH more money, offering customers the very same functionality they ALREADY had with the better (and previous) generation of “technology”.

Christ what a joke.

ALSO, cameras with Autocorrect? Will it work as poorly as keyboard “Autocorrect” does? Because that’s basically a joke and a half. AutoINcorrect, I call it.

I wish aPple would concentrate on making what they’ve already done WORK eventually and stop trying to pretend to “innovate,” when all they’re really doing is pOlishing a tUrd.

Ohh... ahh... look how THIN!

Sure, it’s thin. So’s a slip of paper, and I can’t plug a damned headphone connector into THAT either.

So apple is still going to keep the exact same design every three years, how boring... The competition is getting fiercer and fiercer. I'm not saying apple should introduce a whole new design every year, but why can't apple at least make the bezels and notch smaller make some small improvements here and there, just like facelifts in cars.

I’m not on contract, but I do upgrade every 2 years. My iPhone X has been a great device, one of my favourite iPhones so far. I do want the iPhone Max so I will buy this years version :)

Yes, you should do that. But wait a few months after release and you can save a few hundred dollars.
