I'm getting less and less excited about this iPhone by the day. I want USB-C, I want a smaller notch, and I don't want a cancerous camera bump!

Also (and this applies to all iPhones in general), iOS needs a major overhaul. I'm getting really sick of its limitations. No picture-in-picture video? I'd love to be able to watch a YouTube video while doing other things with my phone. The lack of proper multitasking is totally bananas. I'm also sick of not being able to purchase Amazon movies or Kindle books in their apps. This is a limitation that Apple has imposed upon Amazon, and it makes the entire iOS experience feel crippled for us consumers! I also want Google Maps as my default maps app. I'm sick of this Apple Maps garbage.

And to people who are saying "sounds like you just want an Android phone!" No. I don't want an Android phone. I like iOS. I like the UI, I like the elegance, and I like the gestures. But I don't like the crippling aspects of it, and Apple should know that they need to fix it.

For phone owners who can't quite figure out where the middle of the phone is, please place the Apple on the charging device.

That's the most logical answer I've seen. They'll probably make it a slide in the presentation.

Would be nice if the new Apple Watches are implemented to take advantage of the reverse charging.

How about...

90+ Hz OLED
More RAM (and a multi-tasking OS that an use it)
Dual physical SIM card
Expandable storage support (or non-gouging prices for internal storage)
USB-C
Better than 5W charger included in the box
Reduced notch
Reduced bezels

...for starters. Then once it's achieved parity with phones costing half as much, Apple can start working on new features.

If you're willing to live with a phone that is 2-3mm thicker than the current models then it's possible. I'm pretty sure the camera bump is due to the depth of the cameras. You can only make an optical device so thin. Add a SIM and you need space for the receiver slot. RAM cards need receiver space too. Space is one reason they got rid of the 3.5mm jack.

I can’t wait to hear people complain about the poor battery life on their new iPhones because they didn’t charge their watch or earphones the night before and used the phone to charge them throughout the day.

Lolol!

You’re hearing in here first,
it’s going to be called the “ApplePhone”
No more reference to “i”anything.
It’s been happening with all new device releases, AppleTV, AppleWATCH, etc.
I expect this will be it for that Jobs naming convention.
What would they call the iMac, though? The apple Mac?

iMac is actually the weirdest name of all. It combines the "i" prefix, which is now only used for iOS devices with the "Mac" prefix, only used for MacOS devices. It doesn't really have any name, just two prefixes.

I guess this would be a nice feature if you're really in a pinch but I can't see myself ever using this. My watch goes so long on a charge and charges so quickly it's never an issue for me.

What practical use would it be in 2019 or 2020? Real 5G coverage is tiny at this time and will be for some time into the future.
1. I keep my phones for several years, so not having 5G in the phone means no 5G service for that entire period.
2. I live in Canada's biggest city, where 5G is coming in 2019/2020, and getting more fleshed out in 2020.
3. I am on the lone nationwide wireless provider that hadn't planned on using Huawei for 5G, which means their 5G plans won't be delayed if Canada decides to ban Huawei. Rogers/Fido is using Ericsson for 5G.

So, timing is perfect for me to wait a year for a 5G iPhone in 2020, after 4 years with the dual-lens 3 GB RAM iPhone 7 Plus... which is still being sold by Apple by the way. It's still a very good iPhone, and runs iOS 13 beautifully.

5G or bust!
5G would be nice.

Why? What would you even do with it? 5G will be exceptionally scarce, and it will be doled out to you in tiny limited chunks for insane amounts of money so that you can...what? Do all the same things you can already do on LTE? or Wi-Fi?

All of them have spaces. Apple TV. Apple Watch.

Apple Phone does sound a lot better than iPhone Eleven Pro Max. HA.

Do you have some vendetta against advancing tech?

No way. The iPhone brand is way too strong for Apple to change it. Look how long the iMac branding has stuck around. Going on 20 years now.

This was the exact same argument when 3G was introduced.
This was the exact same argument when 4G LTE was introduced.

BTW, it seems very odd that you would use WiFi as an argument against getting 5G. Why get any cellular service if you can just use WiFi?

Oh! Corrections. Device to Device charging eh? Apple iPhones stealing from Android again!
Not a fanboy so im not going to argue that but I will say Apple plays it safe and lets others try things. Android does a lot but make NO mistake about it, those features don’t become mainstream with accessories and products until Apple does it.

So the next iMac will be called AppleMac?
