90+ Hz OLED? That's good.
More RAM? Does anyone really use split multitasking on their 6-inch displays? Would cause more problems than benefits.
Dual Physical SIM card? Available in China, althought we should push eSIM instead of it.
Expandable storage support? Will never happen (because it's one more slot and it creates different volumes).
USB-C? Outside of this forums, no one won't buy a phone because of the connector.
Better than 5W charger included in the box? Battery health is more important.
Reduced notch? No one has been able to reduce the TrueDepth camera notch.
Reduced bezels? Okay...
Until you see how split screen works in your day to day life you wont understand.

Perfect example: I was video calling my girl with an iphone on WhatsApp. If she comes out of WhatsApp her video pauses. If I exit whatsapp, it minimizes to a small box where I can still see her and do other stuff on my phone while I watch and talk to her. Does face chat do that?

This is just one of many instance. Today I was doing a comparison photo where I wanted friends to vote for one or the other, just open both instead of switching back and forth or editing a pic to include both.

Lol battery health is more important but when Apple includes more than a 5w charger then battery health is no longer important right?

It’s not really a battery health issue, Apple controls the charge rate so that’s completely up to them.

But most people don’t live on their phones, so they end their day with 30, 40, 50 or whatever percent still left on their battery. Then they plug in before they go to bed and charge overnight. What does it matter whether it takes 45 minutes or two hours?

Anyone who needs faster charging has many different options, including a 12W Apple charger for $19.95. If that’s not fast enough you can use the USB-C charger and cable.

Apple sells ~200 million iPhones a year; what a waste to pack high wattage chargers when only ten or twenty percent charge during the day. But I suppose eventually they’ll switch, especially if batteries keep getting bigger.

I guess this would be a nice feature if you're really in a pinch but I can't see myself ever using this. My watch goes so long on a charge and charges so quickly it's never an issue for me.

I was thinking the same, but there are times when I want to charge my watch and phone (usually in the car) but don’t have the watch charger. This might be useful in those cases.

“iPhone” brand is so strong. Why change it? I don’t get it.

Because doing so would apparently be in line with the plan to erase all (or as much as possible) of Steve Jobs’ legacy...

... oh wait, that guy just recently got fired, so maybe that won’t happen.

It does, it’s called USB-PD, up to 18W. Maybe do some research before making false claims

Just a mere 18W .. when others are already going for 45W.
Ohh ok forgot that smaller numbers means faster charging ..

It will look no different than iPhones of the past 3 years. The excitement starts in 2020, not next week.

And that's really anti Cli*** FTW

Device to device charging on a 3000 mAh battery good luck with that.........

Apple TV was Jobs’.
If this were true, it would be just like how Jobs rebranded the PowerBooks and PowerMac into MacBook Pro and Mac Pro.
He renamed PowerBook to MacBook, not Apple Book. It made sense, because it was a Mac.

i-naming scheme was really a great idea, it’s short and instantly recognizable. It’d be stupid to rename everything to Apple-something.

iPod Touch -> Apple Pod Touch ??
iPhone -> Apple Phone ?
iPad -> Apple Pad ?

Long, boring and excessive. When someone mentions iPad or iPhone everyone instantly knows what company makes it. Apple Watch also would be better called iWatch and I think there were rumors about that. In the first years of iPod touch when you sent an email using it, the appended signature said “sent from my iTouch”.

If they do change the name to Apple Phone, the only two reasons I can think of is to get everyone to say Apple whenever they talk about it and to be consistent with the Apple Watch, Apple Music, etc. iTunes is about to go bye bye as well. A third reason could be Apple likes to shake things up from time to time like eliminating popular features, iconic names, etc. to show the world they know better which I have to admit is often the case.

To be honest, I would be okay with the change. iPhone sounds a little gimmicky, immature and feminine. Apple Phone sounds more professional, masculine and I think people would get used to it. We’re getting close to a new decade, maybe it’s time to leave the name iPhone behind as we embark on a new decade that promises to reinvent the smartphone as we know it.

I personally think using ‘i’ before the name of the product has become outdated and Apple has increasingly made this clear for years now by not using it. iWatch wouldn’t sound that great, kind of unprofessional if you ask me and Apple came to the same conclusion. This is actually the kind of change I would expect Apple to do eventually. Of course, you can continue to call it iPhone if you would like.

You mean apart from EVERY SINGLE YEAR when they bring out an iPhone?

Most people have lives outside of work. Go to work and then go out at night, let's see how long that charge from the night before last.

They plug in over night out of necessity, otherwise they wont get a full charge.

I like how you toss out random percentages pulled out of the air. Anyways, as I said, you charge your phone at night out of necessity. I sometimes charge my phone at night, sometimes I charge it in the morning. I am not forced to charge it at night. I have a choice, an option...where either way, my phone will be atleast 95% when I leave home in the mornings.

Same reasoning was said by many here when they didnt have wireless charging. Now they have it they dont want to go back.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Apple Watch sounds perfect the way it is and I’m glad Apple went with that. Same thing goes for Apple TV.

Rebranding iPhone... As if their current naming scheme wasn’t confusing enough...

Apple Phone 11 Pro, Phone 11 Pro Max and 11R are our newest phones. Also, last year’s iPhone XS (Max) and XR, as well as iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are still available. No, the X was discontinued and a X Max never existed. What about iPhone 9 you ask? *Apple genius left the chat*

Samsung: we have a new screen, minimised our notch, few other new features

Apple:we have moved our logo down a bit.

Getting less excited every year for these incremental updates

I'll admit it - I had to peel off my iPhone case and glance at the back to see exactly where the Apple logo was situated. And, admittedly, to even see if there was an Apple logo at all! I would have been no less surprised to have seen just a text iPhone logo. So, this logo placement change is not a huge thing in my book, but good on Apple for innovating for once. :p

Also, speaking of cases - this device-to-device charging feature, I wonder how it will work (or not) with a case on. I'd imagine the feature works flawlessly without one but can see a case hampering the efficiency.
The real reason they are moving the logo is it would look bloody stupid and unbalanced higher up next to that big square camera cluster. Shift it down and the back is more aesthetically pleasing.
But hey, it also centres for device to device charging eh? So why not market it to gullible journalists that way?

‘Concept designer’ is so wrong. The whole square will be a black piece of glass.
That’s not what Rumours say...it will be glossy back

The batteries will be larger this year

Those aren’t features. Those are specs.

If you want to know what Apple has planned for future iPhones, you have to think like Apple. Apple does features that benefit their existing customers. So besides the 90 Hz screen, the only one that could benefit customers is dual SIM which they already have done with Chinese iPhones.

Things like expandable storage are already addressed by iCloud and there is no clear benefit to adding USB-C to a smartphone.

Lightning is dead. The only reason Apple is delaying the switch is to maximise their profit on it. I'd prefer the next iPhone had no charging port than a corpse lightning port.

When your laptop, tablet, wireless headphones, and Nintendo Switch all charge with USB-C there is a clear benefit to not carrying a different cable that only exists to pad Tim's bonus.

I dunno if the journalists are the gullible ones here... I see literally dozens of comments here lamenting the impending name change of the iPhone (which, to me, is an insane conclusion to jump to... based on the minor shift of a logo).
I remember when Apple took their 1st step towards this cleaner look, by removing the FCC info.
In my mind, absolutely anyone that is able to be convinced that this is all some dark & carefully crafted plan to erase the legacy of Steve Jobs (you know.... then revealed in the Steve Jobs theater), is worlds of gullible!!!
