Stop complaining everybody. Thanks to our demanding attitudes Apple has to launch new iPhones, Watches and iPads every year.

Remember when they took 3 years to develop an Mac OS X release? But now we want MORE, MORE, MORE. FASTER, FASTER, FASTER.

We're never satisfied. Even if Apple would launch an Apple Watch that could fly us to the moon, you guys would complain wHy iT dOeSn'T fLy uS tO mArS.
While I agree with your sentiments, I also can't help but wonder how aggressive Apple would be if they actually had competition. Chinese wearable makers have all but been shut down in the US and Android Wear is a joke. Now Samsung and Google seem to be merging some of their efforts to fight Apple but that won't help either. Apple has zero competition in the wearable space so they feel no urgency to upgrade yearly even though they themselves introduced a yearly Apple Watch upgrade cycle.

Do you guys think the Watch will ever have the ability to store large amounts of music locally like an iPod? The song limit/memory limit is the only thing really stopping me from buying one at the moment.

I never understand why some people say, "Uh the current model has the U1 chip so this is a hard pass". Does it ever occur to people that if you already own the current model that Apple isn't targeting you, but rather they are targeting version 1 adopters or others like me who don't even own an Apple Watch?

I would love checking the body temperature sensor. I’m still rocking my launch day S4, and looking to upgrade to a SS7. Hopefully what is introduced will get me to upgrade, otherwise I’ll hold onto my watch for another year. I will definitely need a battery change by the end of the year.

noooo. Blood sugar level reading not likely for several more years.....Waiting "several more years" for anything positive that's diabetic related seems to be all we diabetics do...However the several more years never seems to come to an end....
I’ll gladly wait. Interstitial glucose accuracy with a 14 day Libre has typically been awful for me. First few days of a Dexcom sensor has the same issue. If the AW version isn’t highly accurate, it’ll be a feature I never use.

For now, use Sugarmate. You can see reading right on your watch face, computer screen or car dash in the interim if you’ve invested the cash in a CGM.

Exactly. I don't have a phone, don't want a phone; my iPad does everything I want. The Apple Watch would be the ideal complement to it. Still waiting for Watch independence.
I’ve said from day one that it should support the iPad as well as the iPhone.

Not sure the squared off edges are going to be more prone to getting knocked against things compared to the current rounded corners. It happens to me a fair amount and my aluminum Watch is mostly unscathed. Knowing that I do rely on my Watch daily, something I wasn’t sure would be the case when I bought it a couple of years ago, I’m definitely going to spring for a titanium version next. It should help with scratch and impact resistance for the case and the sapphire lens included makes the screen very scratch resistant.
I’ve had Silver Stainless S0, S2, S4. Any scratches just buff out with a cape cod cloth.

No new Apple Watch for me .. Comments here show I'm not alone .. I think we all expected more.

Apple would be wise to just skip a year. Better that than put up with bad press (disappointing Apple Watch sales) at a time when Apple is looking really good to the financial community (nothing but positives).

These types of comments about Apple not trying to improve their product, or improve it more than you want, are because they don’t have competition - you’ve clearly never worked in product development for a brand like Apple. They’re not making decisions based upon what other brands are offering or not. They’re building out devices that address what they see as opportunities in the market, which also help build out the Apple ecosystem AND provide benefits that they can market as different, unique, better, etc.

The other issue with Apple seemingly not launching new ground breaking specs on products, is that at the scale they operate, they often can’t launch certain technologies because they can’t get suppliers to build enough or build enough at the right price, in order to serve the volumes of customers they have. Mini LED is a perfect example, or even Micro LED, which they invested $800M years ago to help a partner build out a factory to produce micro LED panels. It’s where they want to go, but great ideas don’t always turn into great products, for reasons far out of Apple’s control.

I will only get an AW when the battery lasts at least twice as long as it does now.
Hmmm. I was wondering why the watch had to be made a little thicker (but not noticeable to the user). Maybe you've hit on something - bigger battery with newer technology?

Not sure if I should either just laugh or be annoyed by this silly comment. Apple came into an industry already flooded with Smartwatches so they were the competition for those others. They knew what it took to make a not only competitive product but they had the winning ingredient. They've never been stagnate with the Apple Watch. It's hilarious when someone says Apple needs the competition as if you don't want Apple to win. Those other companies who make junk watches are the ones that need a fire lit under the ass, not Apple.

Is the U1 chip for inside Apple Watch to replace car's fob?

People buying OmePod as a collector's item now!
Honestly, now that they are doing surround sound features with the HomePod I would actually consider buying them. And I mean the expensive, larger ones. I spent that much on my SONOS system that I have in my basement, that I had for my father in law when he was alive. They would have been a little cheaper than the Sonos unit. That is what I was hoping that Apple would do with them. I already had an Apple TV as my main video source. Even my OTA goes into the ATV via a device called Tablo.

You know a lot more about Apple marketing than their engineering. Apple's longhand belief that they only compete with themselves is a lie they tell themselves that fans then promulgate further. No one is saying Apple isn't innovative or is lazy. Apple races and fights for all things iPhone but doesn't have the same fervor for hugely successful products like Apple Watch. Why don't they care about Watch apps or adding useful sensors that Chinese makers have been using for years? The answer is because they don't have to.

You're 100% right. Apple only loses marketshare to imaginary customers and companies.

Always-on display, UWB, always-on altimeter, compass plus the usual silicon-based improvements (faster, better battery life, wider coverage for cellular model, adding 5 GHz Wifi), all came with AW5 & 6.

Always-on display is a killer feature for some. Better outdoor activity capabilities (always-on altimeter, compass, better battery life while tracking activity) is significant for others.
I agree. I skipped the AW5 because it wasn't enough of a reason to update from the AW4 but I am quite happy with my AW6. If these rumors are true, I will be skipping the AW7 and looking forward to the AW8 in 2022.

I imagine more and more folks will do similarly. The AW is a maturing product and thus the model to model differences are increasingly evolutionary, incenting fewer existing owners to make a single-model upgrade.

I just ordered a Nike Apple Watch series 6. Was gonna wait for the 7... but need one now. I am not a ”watch guy”. I just want one for the health benefits. I plan to be very active this Summer. Lots of Biking, hiking & exercising So i don’t want to wait for the 7 in the Fall.
